  1. I see that Pomeranz just went on the DL with a shoulder strain. Not sure how serious, but the fact that it's a shoulder has to be at least a little worrisome for them, right? And, what's the status of Kirby Yates? I see he's on the DL too right now. Not sure how desperate the Pads would be to make a deal, but it appears that Yates is a F/A at the end of this season - so maybe they would want to add a controllable closer to the mix - so that they can make a serious run here with their young roster over the next few seasons? My biggest concern with making a deal with the Padres is that I'm not in love with their positional player prospects. They seem to be heavy on pitching prospects right now, and while every team could always use pitching - I would love to get at least one high end bat if we are trading Hader right now.
  2. Yeah, I'd love to know what we're asking for that would be called "Bananas?" As others have stated though, I'm happy to hear that DS has a very high asking price for Hader. He's been the best reliever in baseball for two years running now, and thus far at least - he's putting up even better numbers (maybe not as high of a K rate though) here in 2020. Ask for the moon and hope that some team get desperate enough to give you close to that "bananas" asking price. If not, we hold onto him and maybe we'll get a desperate offer this winter or next summer at the deadline?
  3. Cleveland wouldn't do it for one, let alone both. Cleveland would definitely do it for Plesac...I dont think Plesac is that good though.. No way in hell Stearns would be doing a straight up trade of Hader for Plesac, so the Indians would have to throw in another big prospect in this deal. Like someone else suggested - maybe Nolan Jones? I know MLB Pipeline has him ranked just inside the Top 50, so maybe that would be a good package for Hader? Selfishly though, I guess I would hope we might be able to net a bit more for Hader. I know prospect rankings aren't the "be all/end all," but I just find it a bit curious that Plesac was never a big prospect coming up through the Indians farm system - and it appears that he's putting up better numbers at the MLB level than he did at any point in the minor leagues. Anyone know what has changed with him? Did he find an uptick in velocity, or a new pitch? Just odd that he went from a guy that was not on anyone's radar to a really good MLB starting pitcher. Is some regression coming for him?
  4. With the news about the expanded playoffs, that ultimately means that there should be less teams in sell-mode this year - especially since there shouldn't be many teams at all that will be buried in the playoff standings. Then, when you factor in COVID and the impact that it is having financially on all of these teams - will we see any trades at the 8/31 deadline this year? That's hardly enough time to even gauge what your teams needs might be anyway.
  5. So, with this prediction - are the Brewers just forfeiting the final 10 games of the season to get some rest before the playoffs start? If that's the case, then you'd still need to mark those down as losses, so I'm guessing you meant to say 50-10.
  6. Safe to say that there is nothing "normal" about any of this, but damn it's good to utter those three words this morning! Please COVID - don't screw this up for us!
  7. Agreed! Let's get weird this season. What does it really hurt, since it's already going to be such an odd year.
  8. Yeah, what's up with the time of that game? Makes zero sense - especially with no fans in the stands. Why you wouldn't play that game at night is ridiculous.
  9. Wilcox, Dingler, or Beeter. Though I’m not sure if any of them will be available by then. Would love to see one of those guys drop to us in the 2nd round, but I'm guessing the chances probably aren't great.
  10. So, do we have the 16th pick in the 2nd round? If so, who are some of the early hopefuls that might be available that some would like to see us take?
  11. Did I see a tweet earlier today that the Brewers were going to be making a bunch of minor league cuts today? Do we know specifics on this yet? How many and who?
  12. Anyone else do the Miller Park BRXLZ set (the big 2,000+ lego block set)? I've done a few of these different sets before, and for the life of me I cannot get this Miller Park one to work. I get about 40% of the way through it and there just isn't enough support built in under the loge/terrace seats, and it's literally impossible to add the next levels. I've been driving myself crazy trying to finish this thing. Just curious if anyone else has put this thing together before, and if you had the same issues? Has anyone actually completed it?
  13. Well, I think it might be wise for us all to wait at least into May/June this year before we really start to talk about the continued demise of Travis Shaw. I know we all saw him struggle mightily last year, but I think 15 spring training AB's is a tad bit too early to completely write him off for good. Not to toot my own horn here (OK, I will), but I see Shaw hit a couple of bombs over the weekend. Now, just like it was too soon to completely right him off - I also think that the opposite is also true that it's too early to predict that he's turned the corner after a couple of good AB's. But still - my initial claim stands - that we shouldn't be writing this guy off completely until we see how he's performing come May/June this year.

  15. I apologize if this was already discussed in great detail somewhere - but what are our options with Lo Mo if he continues to tear it up all spring? Is there a possibility that we would keep both he and Smoak coming out of ST? That's two LH bats that primarily only play 1B, right? If we don't keep him on the opening day roster - I'm assuming he goes to another team right? Guessing he has an opt-out at the end of ST if he doesn't make the MLB roster? Just curious what options we might have with this guy if he continues to hit like he has so far this spring.
  16. So, with 8 international signings showing up in our BA Top 30 prospect list - it has me wondering: is this a sign that we are doing a much better job in the international market now? Or, is this just more of a sign that we haven't drafted as well in the June Amateur draft in recent years? Or, is it combination of both? I've wanted us to get more active in the international market for years now, so I'm excited to see us getting more top guys down there. But, I also realize that there is probably even a higher miss % on these guys since teams are signing them so early in their development. And, that's saying something - because the miss % is high enough as it is with the June draft.
  17. If this were to happen, Stearns should be on the phone with Colorado and asking what it would take to get Bryant. That roster is not ready to win now, Bryant is only under contract until after 2021, and Colorado trading Arenado for Bryant would, in my opinion, be motivated only to get out of Arenado's contract. Now this would be amazing if we could somehow pull that off! Rockies have Brendan Rodgers ready to step into their IF somewhere, so I'm sure they could shuffle some guys around to fill 3B. Again though - would we even be able to put together a package good enough to get 2 years of Bryant? I'm guessing we'd have to part with one of Burnes/Freddy, then throw in Turang and maybe a Feliciano or Ashby? Pipe dream that something like this would happen, but boy it would make the Brewers/Cubs rivalry even more spicy over the next couple of seasons!
  18. I see a report out today that the Cubs are highly motivated to work out a deal with the Rockies to get Arenado - in exchange for Bryant and a prospect. Ugh....if that actually materializes. I would imagine that the Cubs would need Nolen to waive his opt-out clause in his contract that comes up in a couple of years to make this type of a move. If this happens, I guess we just have to hope that his numbers take a dip when he doesn't get to play 1/2 his games in the thin air of Colorado.
  19. It says he has developed into one of the most complete players in the 2019 international signing class. Refers to him as a high-contact hitter with at least solid-average raw power which they project should grow into a plus tool soon. Also acknowledges that he is at least a plus runner who accelerates quickly in both the outfield and on the basepaths. The article includes a little over 1-minute video of Hedbert Perez hitting (both in-game and BP) as well as throwing from RF to 3B and home (both practice and in-game). He has quickly become one of the projected stars from this past year’s signing class. Man....did we ever need news like this! Obviously, we have no idea yet if this kid will actually pan out, but at least we have a kid that many seem to be really high on. I'm guessing this kid will be playing in the DSL this year, correct? So, we most likely won't see him state-side until 2021 at the earliest? Going to have to be patient I guess, but let's hope he's one of those Dominican kids that is so good that he forces the Brewers to fast track him to some degree.
  20. I see that rumors are starting to heat up again regarding the Cubs potentially trading Bryant. I'm assuming there is less than a ZERO chance here that we could ever get involved, right? No way, they would trade him inside the division to one of their big rivals? Was just dreaming about how awesome it would be to see Cub fans lose their Sh#$ seeing one of their hero's become a Brewer! Even if we weren't a division rival, I'm not sure if we'd even have enough in prospect capital to make a deal happen. Not even sure if a Turang, Small, Ashby package gets it done - does it? Boy, the lack of impact prospects in our farm system right now is really glaring!
  21. Hey, just curious if you'd be willing to take a photo of one of your new Brewers jerseys and post the photo here? I just want to see what one of these looks like before I make the leap and spend the money (even though it really isn't that much). Giving them my CC is a bit scary, but I guess I might just have to trust it and hope that it doesn't cause any ID theft issues. If it's too much of a hassle to post the photo, no worries. Just thought I'd ask.
  22. Awesome! Thanks for the heads up on this. Seems too good to be true, but I guess I'll give it a shot since so many people seem to swear that the quality is good. Thanks again.
  23. With the INSANE prices for the new Brewers jerseys online, I heard about this website www.dhgate.com. They've got new Brewers jerseys for under $25, which seems WAY too good to be true. Has anyone every purchased anything from this company? Seems awfully shady to me, but I'm tempted to at least give it a shot at these prices.
  24. Hmmmm.....interesting. Let's hope that DS has something up his sleeve here this week.
