  1. I can't wait until Voght comes back and we have three catchers on the roster. LOL, to go along with their 14 1B/corner OFers? We just need about 4 mediocre to replacement level guys playing 2nd base and we're all set.....
  2. Oh the fun it would be having OBJ catching bombs from Rodgers for the rest of AR's career. Tempting.
  3. If I were the Mets i'd laugh Stearns right off the phone for just one of those guys...they MIGHT take Aguilar but we'd have to at least give them something like a Ponce or Houser to go with. Not sure that I wouldn't entertain the option at least either.
  4. I want this rotation upgraded, but does this dude really do it? He seems like another run of the mill "meh" type of guy. I'd rather we pay a premium for Archer/DeGrom controllable types and eat the farm hit rather than scab things together with guys like McHugh.
  5. It's spring training. Who cares about their numbers.
  6. Bucks win a playoff series :p
  7. Geoff Jenkins and Corey Hart endured some god awful teams. I'd rather see the latter however...
  8. I'd give up 2 or 3 second rounders....would part with the 1st rounder too. Our defense would get us back to the Super Bowl with Peterson, who cares about a developmental mid 1st round player.
  9. Really cool 60 minutes on Giannis last night. We should be thankful of how humble a human being he is because I think that just might keep him in Milwaukee for his whole career.
  10. You're doing CBB all wrong then. No point hoping for UW (or Marquette) titles because they're never coming! Just being a realist
  11. I still do not comprehend that there isn't "A" deal out there somewhere that would help unclog this jam we have. IMO it's absolutely ridiculous to have one of Braun/Thames/Santana sitting on the bench every day. I guess if somebody gets hurt we're set but this seems like such a waste.
  12. TJSeven you absolutely nailed it. Can't believe I didn't draw the lines together either....it's just more of the same ole same ole with the wrinkle thrown in that DS gets to play with his computers on the "small roster changes," with Mark not learning a thing about signing large deals via Scott Boras. Note :: NOT a knock on David Stearns, and obviously MA gets the final say, but when push comes to shove we're going to just go right on back to Borass and give his guys big deals for the "final pieces."
  13. I'd rather have not known this detail.
  14. I'd love the Matthews signing Bigly. I seem to recall we had an infatuation with him when he was in the draft too.
  15. If we're serious about hiring a woman (Becky Hammons also rumored in the list), I'd look no further than a few hundred miles to the west and hire Cheryl Reeve. She is a special woman and a special coach, not to mention has also been a successful dual GM/coach. I don't even really watch WNBA but know how revered she is over here and the chemistry she has created with her team over the years. (Which is becoming VERY apparent that we need with this team, because it's pretty lacking at this point)
  16. For crying out loud. I'm done with this franchise if we hire that bum.
  17. Thank god this PITA is over.
  18. I'm on board. He plays faster than he times, had several long TD the past couple years if i recall.\ Didn't we have a bunch of interest in him when he came through the draft?
  19. Hopefully they make that move yesterday.
  20. LOL Hot Take alert! Please don't let Packer Twitter-like pronouncements take this thread over. Burnett is a solid player, but has declined as a playmaker and has had injury trouble. And Point Beer is 100% correct that Josh Jones was drafted exactly for this scenario. Also the team LOVES Kentrell Brice. The team has several bounce-back type DBs in mind that they can and will bring in on cheap deals. Pettine has had a habit of taking unheralded guys and turning them into good players in the defensive backfield in the past. Let this play out before writing them off. It's only March 20! Unless someone of the Tramon Williams type (solid vet with leadership) gets brought in here, this is an unmitigated disaster. I didn't particularly like Burnett at this stage of his career and believe them on Randall, but there is literally zero in the DB ranks right now. So going by that, the answer is to bring in more rookies to go with the rookies that were not good last year? Without a guy like Terrence Newman (mentoring the young MIN DB's) to help stabilize the situation? Hmm? Not to mention our draft is kind of REKT in its current state, we're basically forced to take 1-2 CB very early just to have *bodies*. I know everyone loves names in the media, but we essentially exchanged one older pass catcher for another and signed a DL with motivational issues. I like the moves but let's not get ahead of ourselves, they both have a TON to prove...it's not the 5 year ago versions of either.
  21. I'm really impressed with Jennings. Here and there he's a bit off as anyone would be from a long layoff out of the game but he really makes plays this team sorely needs. Hopefully he works out here on round #2.
  22. I'm about to the point where signing him is a significant risk. Unless you're premium talent like Leveon Bell (and even he had trouble) starting late seems like it always ends badly in pro sports.
  23. Because last year Franklin, Nieuwenhuis, Perez, Sogard, Thames, and Villar made 21% of the team's OF starts. Counsel will want to give Perez starts, and you can bet some of those will be in the OF. Then he should be fired. Perez is a medicore below average baseball player and we have SIGNIFICANT resources vested in the OF.
