  1. It was all Jason Kidd's fault, or so i'm told.................. They need Brogdon back. Some nice pieces as always but they just don't seem to gel together soundly. Doesn't help that Parker has been virtually nonexistent with G / Middleton since he was drafted though.
  2. What is the budget limit then if you know? Spending money on the Sogards, Gallardos, Mileys of the world is a really Milwaukee Bucks way to do things. No, the Milwaukee Bucks way of doing things is signing Bobby Simmons and Miles Plumlee to 50 million dollar ludicrous contracts, not taking small $ fliers on once decent players they think they can make better.
  3. Gallardo...Miley....leverage? Has anyone even bothered to look at how these two have pitched? Miley hasn't had a sub 4.5 ERA since 2015 and Gallardo was as bad as it gets the past 2 years amongst starting pitching. They might amount to something, but talk about laughable to suggest we have any sort of leverage position over agents with this. LOL
  4. Free throws.................
  5. MINOR LEAGUE DEAL !?!?!?!?!?
  6. Why did I think Happ was a senior for some reason? Looks like he's still thinking about coming back. I bet he does, i'd be quite happy if so. http://host.madison.com/wsj/sports/college/basketball/men/ethan-happ-will-declare-for-nba-draft-but-could-return/article_b2acf5ad-7bf9-56d8-9f7f-fbea90472f0e.html
  7. It's really annoying we always lose to Sparty by what seems like 3-4 points every single time, but my faith has been restored after the past few weeks. It was really impressive to see this team play so well down the stretch when they easily could have just folded up and headed for the offseason...Gard seems plenty safe to me. NEED. SHOOTING. Hopefully Ford becomes that guy.
  8. Bazz can score, not much else.
  9. If they EVER shoot well they can beat anybody in the game, including MSU. Seems to be quite the task however.
  10. Mostly an NCAA writer. Kind of an odd guy to be breaking MLB news. But he seems pretty legit. I'd be surprised if the money was that high, but I like that it's a shorter-term deal. The money sounds high enough to be believable. Literally nobody else out there on it though, but I don't know why a NCAA guy would be interested in breaking Milwaukee freakin Brewers news without a good source....
  11. I get your frustration, but you're probably overstating how dire the pitching situation is. Because if it is that bad, adding Arrieta or Cobb isn't going to make that much of a difference. I think the reality right now is, given the "on-paper" offensive improvement and the current pitching staff, the Brewers are a fringe playoff contender. The theoretical offensive improvement and slotting Chacin into the rotation should come close to equalling out the loss of Nelson for half the year. BUT ... that is assuming we don't see multiple core players regress significantly. Adding Cobb or Arrieta solidifies them as a firm playoff contender. No, not really. As it stands at the moment its OK, but if Anderson or Davies go down we are screwed. And pitcher injuries happen every year. That's unacceptable to me on the backs of signing LoCain and dealing a bunch of prospects for Yelich. I would guess that management is waiting to see if Arrieta or Cobb sign here before executing a trade, but if not it's pretty disappointing.
  12. And who pays for these contracts? Taxpayers who fund the universities? Boosters where the best players will go to whoever has the most money? Students through student fees? This is ridiculous. This all started because the kids want it both ways. They want free school, free food, free healthcare, free housing, etc (which comes to tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars over the course of their time there), all while being treated as celebrities at schools that, lets be honest, the vast majority of them would never in a million years be able to get into if they weren’t good at sports. And even if they could get in they’d never be able to afford it. Then on top of all that they want to be paid too. Yes the NCAA makes money. So what. That’s how life works. Companies make money off the backs of their employees. These kids are NOT victims so can we please stop treating them as such. Anyone caught accepting money should immediately lose all eligibility AND be forced to reimburse the schools for their scholarships. . Any coach caught paying players should be banned from coaching at the college level. The reason this is so prevalent is because the rewards far, far outweigh the risks. If the kids don’t like the rules then don’t play in the NCAA. THIS. I'm sick and tired of hearing a bunch of crybabys complaining about not making money. Likely 75% of them or more have never worked a job in their life and spent their days playing AAU etc when not in school. Do we really want a thousand LaVar Balls out there instead of the one we have now? It's time somebody stands up to these namby pambys and tells them to get out if they don't like it the way it is. It's no different than the burger flipper with no education at McDonalds thinking he's entitled to $20/hr so he has a "living wage." No, once you have life and work experience then you get to work your way towards the $20/hr. Everybody whines and moans about Alabama and the big schools getting all the recruits. SO NOW WE WANT BOOSTERS PAYING THEM TO COME? YEAH THAT MAKES TOTAL SENSE! Talk about inequity and the level of play going through the floor.
  13. Sure, lets ask for Kershaw and Joc too while we're at it.
  14. IF he can play it I'd move Braun to 1B regardless of if we make a trade. I'm not one of those that think he can play 3B, 2B, and SS as well though.
  15. What part of "We don't want Lucroy" did people seem to miss from Stearns comments? It was spelled out plain as day short of saying NO. Don't know why this keeps being a debate.
  16. Hopefully MSU or OSU sells out and lays an egg next week, because we're finally playing badger basketball. I think we stand a good chance of making a run of the cards fall right, although our 3 pt shooting is a total ABORTION.
  17. Not picking on you personally, but Arrieta stinks in Baltimore and goes to Chicago and becomes a star who people want to sign as a FA; however, Anderson goes from ARI to MIL, has a very good year and a half stretch, but "overachieved" and is due for regression. Why are players on other teams who improve later in their career stars who we want, but when Brewers improve they overachieve and are due for regression? I agree with this, but some Brewer fans have a Chicken Little complex. The sky is going to fall and our team will eventually lose, because, well, we're the Brewers. Did I single out Anderson? Nelson outperformed his career norms significantly, Knebel was crazy good, Hader was ridiculous, etc. It is absolutely not "Chicken Little Complex" to suggest some guy(s) might have worse seasons than last year while other guys have better seasons. Jonathan Villar is a prime example of a guy everybody hates right now because he had a bad year, and could very well have a much better year this year if he gets the playing time. BLASPHEMY to suggest that. Yes the guys can still improve from here, but everybody treats Chase Anderson as a foregone #2 starter, Corey Knebel an all star closer, Nelson a #1 for us on one season, etc off a pretty small sample size.
  18. Now we know why Diamond Stone went to Maryland over here in hindsight, since he was one of the ones "taking checks."
  19. Our offense can play with anybody. ANY regression in pitching from a bunch of guys that overachieved (by their career norms) though and we're going to be hurting. I'm not losing my patience yet, but if Arrieta or Cobb don't end up here absent a SP trade I will be. I love the Yelich add but what was the point if we weren't serious?
  20. Thank god. Regardless of whether he is/was right or wrong I was really getting tired of the circus going on around his rumor mongering on here.
  21. I'd give the farm no questions asked for a controllable TOR arm. Hader off limits.
  22. Tigers former owner who recently passed away. I can't think of an owner more massively involved in FA signings in recent memory. Great owner though. I think it is rather irrelevant though. The names being listed are really extreme examples I think all owners can become involved sometimes. Attanasio didn't seem to be involved in the Cain signing nor trading for Yelich. Deep breath everyone. Thanks. That also brings me back to my point. That you also are making. We're talking 25-30 years here. Brew listed off some absolute Icons in their sports. They are icons because they are the few. Even most of that list leaned on BB/parcells jimmy johnson cowher/tomlin JERRY freaking WEST. Most owners just can't. I'm a huge FO dork especially football and the dysmal embarrassing list of failures of the non icons getting involved is very very long. Mark A doesn't look like hes doing Kohl LED type stuff anymore... but hearing boras talks to him often just fired me up. Its just not his place... even if its minor and mostly harmless. Breathe as in I just did that myself. Chill out. Maybe Mark A TOLD Boras to contact him first. Why bother getting worked up over something totally out of our control?
  23. I feel like folks think I'm frustrated with the fact they haven't acquired a pitcher. I'm not. I'm not at convinced that standing pat isn't the right move. It may well be the right move. My point is that if they were going to spend the resources for Cain/Yelich you would have thought they would have had a better read on the pitching market. Why waste a year of Cain/Yelich with a clearly inferior pitching staff? Why does everyone think this staff, as currently constructed, is inferior? Anderson, Davies, and Chacin are solid pitchers and if Anderson can replicate what he has done the last year and a half then this is an above average top 3. Woodruff should continue to develop and will be a solid #4 and Guerra/Gallardo/Miley will be more than serviceable as a #5. Not to mention Nelson returning in June (though I am not counting on the pitcher he was last year). Fans seem to think you need this All-Star starting rotation in order to compete but that is just one aspect of the team. You have an extremely improved lineup, both offensively and defensively, and you have a great bullpen with Knebel, Hader, and Barnes, not to mention the great year that Albers had last year. It's 2018, this is a bullpen game. I would much rather have a lock down bullpen than a great starting rotation. Look at what the Royals did in 2015. Their rotation was average at best but their bullpen was lights out. The only one out of Guerra/Gallardo/Miley that has a realistic shot of being serviceable is Guerra. The other two are waiver wire fodder at this point in their careers. Chacin solidifies the #5 spot if you get another arm, and we don't have to pray that Woodruff makes strides either. PLUS there will likely be an injury(s) which could leave us in a huge bind come midseason.
  24. I love Aaron Rodgers but I might entertain the idea of taking the first round picks. He's the ultimate sell high right now, approaching 35 and at some point his body is going to start wearing down from all the hits and injuries he's taken over the years from bad OL play. Fortify the defense with his salary and trade up for one of the QBs. Yes, it's never happening, and I will enjoy Rodgers in GB until the day he retires....but it's a logical option IMO.
