  1. Braun played 34 games in AAA in 2007. He batted .341 with a .418 OBP and 10 bombs. That was at age 23. That is what is so special about what Grisham is doing. If he keeps this up he should be a top 25 prospect to start next year.
  2. I would be on board if the price is right... https://www.brewcrewball.com/2019/7/28/8933131/milwaukee-brewers-dylan-bundy-baltimore-orioles-trade-target
  3. Gotta think DS will sell if this happens..
  4. okay Burch can go the way of Deolis Guerra now...
  5. I’m actually not opposed to this either since I don’t think we will take advantage of our time with Yelich. I don’t see it happening though. I am 100% on board with this. I'm ready to blow it up. I cant stand to watch the Brewers mess up like they did in 2011. If they had traded Bruan and Fielder, then 2013-2016 would have been thrival years. Instead they failed to sell high and we suffered through years of mediocrity. Sell Yelich, Hader, Grandal, and Moose and I can almost guarantee we have a top 3 system. Almost no question the team is ready to compete in 2021.
  6. Exactly. I have yet to come across a scouting report on Turang questioning his ability to at least be an average defender. Frankly, I would be very surprised if he fails to stick at SS.
  7. Turang has now vacated low-A and is playing in Carolina. He's already walked 3 times in 11 plate appearances. If he bulks up even a bit as he approaches his 20's he is going to be a monster. It is easy to forget he is 19 years old. Reminds me of JJ Hardy part 2.
  8. You could insert Cain for Braun here. It doesn't look like Braun was too concerned when he was taken out of the game, but if he's out for an extended ampunt of time and with Cain struggling, what do you do with the outfield? Trent Grisham?
  9. With Cain struggling and Braun getting closing and closer to retirement, boy o boy do I hope Grisham has really figured it out. I'm big on high OBP guys, so I hope these 2019 OBP number translate to MLB. Generally, OBP means a guy has a good plate approach, makes good contact, and has an understanding of the zone. Thus, OBP typically translates. Lets cross our fingers.
  10. Good riddens. About a year and a half late.
  11. I think people would be disappointed to see what Grandal and Moose would bring back. You're not going to get a haul for either. Rentals just don't bring back great returns anymore, and especially with Grandal, his price tag cuts into his surplus value. Don't get me wrong, you can get something. You're probably going to base your asking price around the Machado price tag last year but end up having to settle for less. Neither is going to bring back the Lucroy haul. However, I believe Grandal would have some suitors and would net a top 100 prospect type. He is an impact bat who could really help someone.
  12. He’s been outstanding in the minors his entire career. Saying he’s figuring it out this year is an insult to his body of work Wilkerson is your protical AAAA pitcher. Reminds me alot of Brad Mills. Guy was consistently good in the Pacific Coast League (3.88 career minors ERA) but could never translate any of it to the MLB (7.97 ERA).
  13. Exactly the kind of player the crew needs more of. As you say high contact, good plate discipline, make him a rare bird in today’s game, and with his good defense at short, a steal at #20 in the draft. Good chance to move up rather quickly too. Couldn’t this have been said of Arcia as 19-year old in Appleton? Glad to see it from him, just saying that I’d like to see him stay at Wisconsin for another 4-5 weeks at least. He’s at an age where I love seeing the results, but there’s no hurry No. Arcia was terrible at low-A. He had a .251 BA with a .314 OBP. in almost 500 PA's.... Arcia didn't "figure it out" until his breakout season in 2015 at AA
  14. When did he say this? Can you provide a source to this as I have seen you reference it a bunch, in multiple threads? Brewcrew92 is right. Attanasio was quoted in the Journal Sentinal. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2019/02/19/mark-attanasio-enthused-renovated-facility-and-teams-chances/2920466002/ And here is a snippit of the article: _________________________________________________________________ Last year, the Brewers began the season with a payroll of about $91 million. “Our ownership group is committed to providing the resources to do the best job we can, competing on the field, providing the fan experience and developing our players,” Attanasio said. “The money sort of all came together at once. That wasn’t part of the plan. “You can’t sequence this. So, I had to make a decision are we going to sequence it or do everything at once. We did everything at once.” Which begged the question: Do the Brewers have enough cash in reserve to be aggressive at the trade deadline if the team is in the thick of the race and has needs, as it did last season en route to the NL Central Crown and a deep playoff push to Game 7 of the NLCS? “We have so many roster spots filled now,” Attanasio said. “That’s more the challenge than finding the money for in-season (additions). All the chips are all in now. We’ll find the money at mid-season if we need to.” On the subject of spending money, Attanasio has heard the outside cries for his team to spend on a pitching ace. They didn't do it after 2017 or after the thrilling '18 season but he didn't seem too concerned. "Every year, we are the Rodney Dangerfield of major-league pitching staffs," he said. "No respect. And every year they've performed. I'm excited to see what they can do this year as well." As he does every spring before the team’s first full-squad workout, Attanasio delivered an address to the players during a morning meeting. He said the script was similar to the past couple of years because, basically, why fix what ain’t broke? ___________________________________________________________________________________
  15. Agreed. My understanding is that Shaw has two options left. Why the Brewers would decide not to burn one and make Shaw prove something is beyond me. He was terrible for 6 weeks before the IL stint. He was terrible on the rehab stint. I highly doubt he returns to the big leagues and starts raking.
  16. On Sunday when they pinch-hit Aguilar for Woodruff in the 8th I was vocal with my displeasure of this call. The guy in the row in front of me didn’t like my attitude and said to stay positive. I said “I’m POSITIVE Aguilar is going to strike out here.” Four pitches later Aguilar struck out. It was awesome. He's so bad I would rather see Hernan Perez at first. At least Prrez will hit .250 with some pop and give you above average defense. The other option would be to move Braun to 1B again and play Gamel everyday.
  17. Gotta say I agree with everything Eric wrote. Hiura is a pure hitter who is not likely to be over-matched by MLB pitching. If he has really improved his plate approach and the walk uptick is for real, lookout.
  18. Hiura has done nothing but hit his entire career. He is what scouts refer to as a "pure hitter." I don't think anyone is suggesting that he comes up and posts a .320 BA with a .380 OBP. However a .280 BA with a .350 OBP is not out of the realm. That would be better than what Shaw is posting.
  19. I just checked Hiura's numbers for the first time in about 10 days. .336 Avg with a .398 OBP with 11 bombs. Basically making a joke of AAA pitching.
  20. Putrid effort at the plate. I would think Hiura will be up soon to play 2B, Moustakas shifts to 3B. Then just need to figure out 1B. After what Aguilar has done the last two seasons it would be really really tuff to DFA him. However, you need more production out of 1B if you want ot win the division and compete for the World Series.
