The Brewers control Aguilar through 2022.... I would sit tight through at least 2019. The good news is...if the league was going to adjust to Aguilar, that should have happened by now... The question now is whether he can play full time at 1B and keep this up.

Francisco Cervelli makes a lot of sense for the Brewers. Of course, if the price is right. Never want to send big prospects inter-division. Jordy Mercer makes less sense with Miller on board and the return of Saladino.

    Zagurski survives...
  4. wildcat2237
This. I think we add one "high-end" starting pitcher. Maybe also a catcher if the price is right....
  5. wildcat2237
Our top prospect for a reliever not named Kimbrel or Chapman....no thanks...
  6. wildcat2237
Broxton has K'd 11 times in 28 AB's since being called up... Some things never change...
  7. wildcat2237
Well apparently Jennings has his stuff back together...
  8. wildcat2237
Zagurski does not belong on an MLB roster much less this contending roster..
  9. wildcat2237
Exactly....especially with Jeffress and Hader presumably available...
  10. wildcat2237
    Nice AB Danny Santana....woof...
  11. wildcat2237
Jeffress was up in the pen in the ninth last night...so i have no idea why he wouldn't be available tonight...
  12. wildcat2237
No Jeffress? No Hader? No Knebel? Mind boggling... I'd have yanked Barnes after the first too....cant walk guys with a 4 run lead...yuck...
  13. wildcat2237
    Must........stick.......with.....Barnes....... ugh...
  14. wildcat2237
About 60 days overdue.....but thank god.... Now about Mr. Zagurski...

I agree 100%. At the time the trade was made the Brewers had a stigma around them as losers. The Sabathia trade made the Brewers relevant. The trade put the team over the edge and brought excitement to the city and went a long way towards eliminating the negative stigma surrounding the team. If anything, I think the success of Brantley actually makes the trade a win-win for both the Brewers and Indians.

I think the post completely misses the mark. The Brewers did not get "one playoff victory." The Brewers made their first playoff appearance in decades. The Brewers get to hang a banner for eternity. Does it suck that we ran out of gas and lost to the Phillies? Yes. However, the goal every year is to make the playoffs, once in anybody can get hot....

Gotta think this is the end of the line for Suter in the rotation if we want to contend....
  18. wildcat2237
    Yep. 0-2. Back to AAA.

BTW, I think Danny Salazar should be added to this list. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/07/danny-salazar-season-over-12-16-weeks-shoulder-surgery-indians.html A lot of people thought we should trade Santana+ to the Tribe for Salazar. Dude is out for the year.....again...
  20. wildcat2237
Gotta agree. We are getting better production out of Brent Suter than the Twins are Lance Lynn. And we are paying Suter about 7 million per year less. It is very intriguing to see what Stearns does at this deadline.

Franklin has got to think he hit the jackpot.... collecting an MLB paycheck for doing absolutely nothing. #itstillhurts He was a first round pick in 2009 so he shouldn't be poor. He has 2.147 years of service time according to B-R.com; figuring a minimum salary of $500K and a signing bonus of ~$1M when he was drafted, he's made about $2M playing pro ball, or an average of a little over $200K/year. Which is all really sad, because he stinks. Cant wait to see him and Sogard get DFA'd. Zigurski and his career 7.00+ ERA can go too....

More confirmation that Degrom and Syndergaard are available.. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/06/jacob-degrom-trade-rumors-noah-syndergaard-mets.html An ESPN writer posted a story today stating the Brewers should go all in and get Degrom... http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/23919537/real-not-brewers-need-trade-jacob-degrom
