  1. How about Brad Miller (.280/.346/.475) or Jake Lamb (.242/.356/.468)? Both of those guys were out there for most of the winter. Gyorko is still a free agent. Which is especially infuriating with how poor 1B/3B have venom and with how desperately a RHB to go between those 2 positions is needed
  2. It makes too much sense Cron has a .693 OPS outside of Coors. Not saying he wouldn't work - but I'd be wary of Coors inflated performances. This is true, but he’s been above average by OPS+ every year of his career except for 98 to be year. He also wouldn’t cost a lot and would be a lefty masher between Yelich and Narvaez.
  3. Well, league average IS a real upgrade. And there’s no way that the Marlins would want one of those 4 bad players you listed for a decent player.
  4. I don’t see any reason why the Twins, who have an abundance in the OF, would want JBJ. He’d at least make some sense as a salary balance to a team that could use him
  5. For some reason KC doesn’t like to rebuild by trading away the few talented older players they have. merrifield, Dantana, and Perez should all be on the block but they won’t trade any of them and will win 77 games instead did having a bunch of future talent added
  6. Bradley is a better defender and he's left handed vs. the righty starter. It's not like Taylor has shown so much that he is a must-start. Nobody said he’s a “must start” but in the game after 2 homers and with JBJ having an OPS below 500 he is a “should start.”
  7. No, but they definitely should make changes when their 1B is OPSing under 500. Green would be another turd to throw at the wall and would only have to be not putrid to be an improvement.
  8. He’d surely make a lot of sense and the O’s won’t be competing by next year, but it depends on how the Brewers view Huira. If they don’t think he can figure himself out, they could go after a multi-year 1B (and maybe send Huira as part of the trade). If they truly believe in Huira, then a rental like Cron or Zimmerman makes more sense without a DH being a sure thing in 2022 yet. Plus, Mancini would cost more in a trade
  9. With Travis Shaw being only the ghost of his former self and Huira wanting to have a huge softball leg kick and uppercut, I looked through selling teams to see what they have at 1B/3B. Targets that I think make the most sense: Cheaper: CJ Cron, Asdrubal Cabrera, Eduardo Escobar, Jorge Polanco, Jaimer Candelario, Josh Harrison, Ryan Zimmerman Impact bats: Mancini, Donaldson, hit up Marlins for our former scraps Garrett Cooper or Aguilar
  10. Cain seems like he’s trying to get a higher launch angle for some reason. He’s been flying out medium to deep a ton this year
  11. They need to figure out if Huira can be the current 1B or if they need to go out and get someone such as CJ Cron for the rest of the year
  12. Considering how little pop vs LHP there is, having one of Arcia and Robertson with Gyorko makes more sense than not having Gyorko and keeping both Arcia and Robertson. They just seem redundant. 2 weak hitting utility players isn’t necessary. Getting another RHB who can hit lefties, specifically at 3B, is a lot more valuable than a 2nd utility.
  13. Possibly, although the teams that have playing time are mostly trash, and even then have lefties that have been about as good as Shaw (Ruiz for BAL, McMahon for COL, etc). You are right that Franco might hope for better opportunity than splitting with Shaw. Between the 2 I recommended, Gyorko makes more sense
  14. Pick up Greene for another top pen piece and Gyorko or Franco to platoon at 3B and the roster would be set
  15. Yandy Diaz from Tampa also
  16. Certainly possible. Although I’d think a better hitter’s park, a clear starting spot, and a couple million would’ve been hard to pass up
  17. Considering the contract that La Stella actually received, and the lack of much chatter about him this offseason, I wonder if he has been perhaps overrated? Maybe he signed too early out of concern of lower spending this off-season? There must be something I’m missing. Because at his contract, being the better hitter, being good the last full year (unlike Bradley) and actually playing a position of need, La Stella seems like a much better fit on this team
  18. Since they had this money the whole time, signing La Stella would’ve made a lot more sense
  19. Since Robertson can be the utility guy/5th of, I hope they keep Vogelbach and Sign Gyorko to platoon at 3B. Robertson can start at 2B vs LHP
  20. I think Gyorko still makes a lot of sense for this team. You can do a straight Shaw/Gyorko platoon to start, and both those guys are also good at 1B, which provides insurance for Hiura. Both can also play 2B. I wonder if they think Robertson could be younger (and cheaper) version of Gyorko? That is possible, but at least Robertson could still handle SS and be the backup to the Urias there. That way, they could have Gyorko and Robertson as the 2B/3B platoon RHBs and still have SS coverage. And they could move on from Arcia
