Scheduled day off for Cain, per McCalvy. Good lord. All-star break approaching, he just got back from the DL, and he isn’t exactly a catcher. Stupid

Mayes Hayes is right. I’m surprised a bunch of people are excited about getting a 3B. Shaw succeeding at 2B is Braun to 2B insane.

Villar didn’t deserve being there (SS) either. I don’t buy moving positions = Being “jacked around”

Scooter had 542 his last year with the Brewers. segura had more than that in each of his 3 full seasons with them. They’d be evidence of change of scenery, not just let play even if they’re not good

Babying? He’s been well below average the last 2 years. Maybe he just shouldn’t play a lot because he isn’t very good We shall see when he gets to a new organization. He’s also had almost 700 plate appearances while playing poorly the last 2 years. Opportunity to play isn’t the issue either

I’m OK with Aguilar getting some days off but why the crap can’t it wait until Yelich and Cain are back? And stop with the trash relievers. Let’s pitch Wilkerson, Zagurski, etc but cut Hughes after a good season

Take the hit on defense (Shaw isn’t great anyway) and play Aguilar there to give Shaw a little more rest. Don’t just put Perez there to have a complete waste of a bottom part of lineup

Also seems like you need to read closer when I said to give him a day off when Cain is back. I didnt see any post that said Aguilar should never be out of the lineup

Perez in RF and Aguilar on the bench? Seriously? It would be so much better to rest Aguilar when Cain is back and move Thames to 1B. Someone needs to hide CCs calendar so he doesn’t know it’s Sunday

The only lefty the Pirates have in their pen is Vazquez. He's probably only coming in for the 9th inning anyway. Good point. It’s still annoying to do against other teams though.

I'd rather keep him at a familiar spot in the lineup around the #6-7 hole. Kind of acts like a 2nd leadoff down there and keeps his role more consistent - that said there aren't many better options than him at the top of the lineup with Cain not starting tonight. Probably jinxing it, but I feel like Santana gets off his HR goose-egg tonight... I completely get this take. But I don’t get complaining about his OBP when he’s been okay in that department compared to the rest of the team. Just adds to the Villar “hate” nauseum for me. It’s definietly more of a sign of the teams putrid offense so far this year (304 team OBP) than a knock against Villar.
