  1. Yes the Mets would host.
  2. Why? It seemed to work more often than not last night. Just because it worked didn't make it the right call. The Brewers were incredibly lucky that Kendall got a two out hit; the odds of that were quite low. Bunting with Hart to bring up Counsell/Hall and Kendall was foolish. Not to mention, bunting with Durham in the first inning was embarrassing.
  3. I really don't like the idea of pitching CC on three day's rest for three starts in a row. The guy has already logged a ton of innings and he wore down last year. If the Brewers do make the playoffs, they're running the risk of having a cashed ace. It would be swell if the Brewers could jump on Maholm for a comfy lead and they could remove CC after like 80 pitches. Finally, Best post-deadline acquisition ever=Woogie=Our secret weapon.
  4. I'd go with Lamb, or Branyan if they can re-sign him. Then find a guy to hit against lefties. I'm not sure they'll be able to move Bill Hall's suddenly awful contract, so it may be Hall again.
  5. Another garbage time home run for Prince. Where was that earlier when a homer could have blown the game open?
  6. Thank you! I'd certainly start him over Suppan at this point. I really hate the idea of using CC on three day's rest three times in a row. I'd pitch him Thursday and then play it by ear. DiFelice, Gallardo, Parra and Villanueva may be able to combine for 12-15 innings over a couple games.
  7. Hardy in center? He's one of the slowest players on the team. I don't see how he could ever play center.
  8. I'd actually say the Torres meltdown the other day is on the same level as this one, except obviously reversed.
  9. Woogie is back! The Mets have no chance.
  10. Go Cubs gooo!
  11. I don't think anything should be done for next year. Escobar does not need to be rushed, especially since he projects as a below average offensive shortstop. Give him a full year in AAA and keep your solid MLB shortstop another year.
  12. Ugh. Marquis is awful.
  13. I was at a game against Northwestern when I was pretty young. The Badgers were simply running out the clock and someone fumbled when they could have taken a knee. The Badgers lost at the last second. That was pretty brutal... Almost forgot about that one.
  14. Yeah, why would that guy want to face Webb and Haren in a short series?
  15. Thank goodness Weeks has been sitting (single, triple, walk, homer).
  16. Hall should be gone, but other than that I don't think the infield will be touched. If they still had LaPorta they might have traded Fielder for pitching, but now they can't do that unless they're extremely high on Brad Nelson or something. Escobar should play a full year in AAA. His bat is not ready, and since the Brewers have a good shortstop already there's no need to rush it. They desperately need a solid third baseman. If they don't get a full-time guy I wonder if they'd bring back Branyan now that Russ-Hater Ned is gone.
  17. To me that Bucks series and the Rice fumble are very different because they can be blamed on someone other than the team--the refs. I remember being completely irate at how that entire series was officiated. The Bucks were the better team and got completely hosed.
  18. I don't mean to pick on you Colby, because I've seen many people say this... But exactly what potential has Brandon Phillips met? His highest career OPS+ is 105, and he's only been above 100 one time. His career OBP is an abysmal .308, and his career high OBP is just .331. Weeks is already a better player than Phillips.
  19. Sometimes I absolutely hate the fact that I love this sport and this team.
  20. Worse than the Arizona five runs without an out, worse than Cordero in Texas, worse than the A-Ram walk-off... I can't think of anything worse if they lose this.
  21. Holy crap! I go into a meeting for an hour and come out to this!?
  22. Sit down Soriano! Awesome pitching so far today.
