  1. I'm pretty convinced that Edmonds' only goal is to look disinterested at all times.
  2. Heyman said Fielder "doesn't seem popular with GMs." Huh? How can he say something like that without providing any evidence?
  3. As far as defense is concerned, I'll take range over arm 8 days a week. McGehee may not throw the ball away as much, but some of the balls that Gamel would throw away McGehee wouldn't even reach to find out.
  4. I read it that way as well, and I'm fine with it. The problem is MLB not cracking down on it enough. If they did, silly "retaliation" wouldn't be necessary.
  5. This is a sure sign for me that a movie was good. I really enjoyed it.
  6. There's no reason for Edmonds to be on this team. It's a lost season anyway, so once Hart is traded, I'd like to see Cain and Gomez playing nearly every day the rest of the year.
  7. Left field isn't a position of need either, but they could still use Carl Crawford. The Blazers didn't need Michael Jordan because they had Clyde Drexler. Etc, etc.
  8. Right. Sorry, I should have seen that the first time. Hudson and Beckham would be a haul for Prince. I don't see the White Sox trading Hudson unless they get a starter back. He's in their rotation now with Peavy out for the year. Really, I'd be surprised if they traded Beckham either.
  9. Right. It's certainly not encouraging, but it's still his first full season.
  10. Hmm... Yeah, he may have been kidding. My bad if that was the case.
  11. I'd add the Angels and Rays. In the off-season there would likely be even more suitors (Red Sox, Mariners, A's come to mind).
  12. It's more of a rivalry for Brewer fans, not so much for Cubs fans (their rival is St. Louis). I liken it to the Vikings thinking they are the Packers' main rival when it's really the Bears.
  13. Really? They're going to trade their three top pitching prospects in one deal? That would be insanely lopsided in the Brewers' favor.
  14. Earliest overreaction ever?
  15. Ryan Howard will still have his contract, so I don't see any way this could be true.
  16. I swear some people see home runs as a bad thing. Loney has a career .805 OPS. That's bad for a first baseman. He has those RBIs because he has guys like Ethier (.379 OBP), Furcal (.383 OBP), Manny (.412) and Carroll (.391 OBP) on base for him.
  17. Got this from someone on twitter: I wonder if Steinbrenner is already asking Jesus to shave and get a haircut.
  18. I'd be shocked. Hellickson is major league ready. If they trade pitching, it will be someone in their current rotation to make room for Hellickson.
  19. I'm going to guess that someone famous died crashing into it? Dark, I know.
  20. Hart+ won't get you Davis and Garza, unless the "+" is something pretty valuable. Fielder+ might get Garza and Davis, but even that seems unlikely.
  21. Instead of looking at just this season, let's look at the last three years. Gomez UZR/150: 2008: 17.3 2009: 10.9 2010: -0.8 Cameron UZR/150: 2008: 16.6 2009: 11.4 2010: -37.6 2010 is a throwaway for Cameron, as he's been hurt. Obviously there's something screwy going on with the small sample size for Gomez as well. The point is, they've been very similar. Knowing where to throw the ball is well behind range/speed and reaction on the list of important traits of a CF. Gomez has great range and instincts. Cameron also has great instincts, but he does not have the speed of Gomez, obviously. Add me to the group that would love to see the list of hundreds better than Gomez defensively.
  22. Lee's package is better than what the Brewers gave up for CC, and many here thought the Brewers overpaid.
  23. He also gave a declining Barry Zito 200 billion dollars for fifty years, along with Aaron Rowand's crap contract. He's not sharp.
  24. So... Build around Gomez? If Weeks is the building block you speak of, then he'll bring plenty in trade too right? I'll let you build around Gomez, I'll build around my 1st baseman, Ryan Braun. Clearly I was not suggesting the Brewers build around Gomez. I was highlighting your suggestion that the Brewers not extend anyone with poor defense. If they did that, nobody on the team would be kept outside of Gomez.
