  1. Randomly scored a ticket to a luxury box last night (first time ever), and it happened to be right next to Jenkins' suite. He was very friendly and was talking with us voluntarily--I wasn't going to bug him when he was with his family, but he actually approached us for a bit.
  2. Weeks has one year left after this season. I'd try for a two-year extension. It seems possible he'd accept it if they offered it right now. It's not like he wouldn't be tradeable somewhere down the road.
  3. Based off the numbers, Beachy is a guy who would interest me. I'm a bit concerned that he wasn't in BA's top 10 Braves prospects entering the season though. Minor was number 4 and may have actually elevated his ranking with the season he's had so far.
  4. So... Build around Gomez?
  5. I gather you mean McGehee would slide to second? I can't get on board with that. If people think Weeks is a bad defender at second, I cringe to think what they'll say about McGehee there.
  6. Weeks has been the Brewers best offensive player this season, as he leads them in WAR. He should absolutely be targeted for an extension--it won't break the bank.
  7. Sanchez I was unhappy with, but Minor I'd be thrilled with. I wouldn't even mind taking Kawakami back... He's probably better than a few of the Brewers' starters anyway.
  8. Now THAT'S the type of trade that I want to see. AAA arm with good minor league numbers and a recent high pick. I'd actually be surprised that the Braves would be willing to move him.
  9. He would be a great fit, except he's got a new show now. http://latimesblogs.latim...omedy-running-wilde.html
  10. So let's move Hart for a young guy who has a chance to be one rather than a guy who has proven he isn't, is expensive, and not a long-term solution.
  11. I wish Bill would have said, "The only two good defenders on the entire roster are Gomez and Counsell." Wonder how BA would have responded.
  12. Not even Mark A or Doug could buy now. At least there's that.
  13. I honestly wonder if anyone as dominant as Braun has been for a couple seasons has had a stretch this terrible before his 27th birthday last this long. This is far beyond a slump.
  14. At least we won't be buying. I actually don't mind this at all.
  15. Peavy's injury means Hudson will get called up, and therefore will likely be unavailable in a trade.
  16. Cameron was a very good center fielder, while Hart is a below average right fielder. They aren't comparable. Anyway, just say no to Sanchez. The Brewers need to target younger players with many years of team control. Plus, I don't want yet another guy with a high walk rate. The Brewers already have plenty of those.
  17. I wouldn't want Sanchez for Hart. He's about to get expensive, his velocity is down, and he walks too many. He's an upgrade for their rotation now, but the Brewers should be going for long term solutions.
  18. I won't be furious if they don't sell Hart or Fielder (especially without knowing what was offered), but I will be furious if they buy anything this season. No more Felipe Lopez, Scott Linebrink type trades when they have no chance this season.
  19. This is going to be the deepest Bucks team that I can remember. They've always had 1-3 scrubs on the team. There really shouldn't be anyone along the likes of Dan Gadzuric, Premos Brezic, Charlie Bell, Royale Ivey, Jake Voskuhl, and the hoards of others they've had the last 3-4 years. I don't like the Gooden signing mainly because of the length of the contract, but I'm still excited about the depth and flexibility they'll have.
  20. Braun is at the opposite of the defensive spectrum from Jenkins in both effort and ability.
