  1. He's a guy you sign to a minor league deal if at all and we gave up prospects for him. Now its doubtful those prospects pan out but Bauers wasn't worth giving up anything for.
  2. The Bauers trade looks dumber by the day.
  3. Doug Melvin surely approves this signing.
  4. Its great that Sanchez has some power but he really offers nothing else. Hard to get excited about a guy likely to have an OBP below .300 that costs 7 million.
  5. This is a very strange move to say the least and don't really see the point but since its only a one year deal whatever.
  6. Devin is the guy to trade considering our bullpen is the strength of the team and with two years of control his value will never be higher. If someone wants to pay a relatively high price for Adames I'd move him in a second but I have a feeling the offers are not all that great. Going forward the move is going to be trading guys with 2 years of service remaining as we saw the return on Burnes was most likely well short of what they could have gotten a year earlier.
  7. I would be in favor of trading Adames but I don't think the offers will be tempting at all so might as well keep him and hope he plays well enough to net us the draft pick after he leaves.
  8. Devin Williams is the one to trade if we can get some solid offers. With two years of control remaining his value will never be higher and we have more than enough depth in the bullpen to sustain his loss.
  9. This team feels completely caught in the middle without a true direction. This is a one year deal so nothing too concerning but this starting staff feels like a bunch of 4s and 5s other than Peralta. Its great to have depth but you really need a few guys to pitch a lot of innings and I just don't see it.
  10. I definitely think he is being blackballed which is a shame since he was proven not guilty and that the girl was trying to blackmail him. Everyone talking about him being a jerk without knowing the guy is completely uncalled for especially since Mookie Betts stood up for the guy. This is a situation where we can pick up a top of the rotation starter for cheap and we should take full advantage of it. Weren't there rumors that we tried to sign Aroldis Chapman with the intention of then trading Devin. Well Aroldis is a far worse person than Bauer yet we were willing to sign him. Its a little tiresome seeing people disparage someones character when the guy was proven to have been blackmailed and was innocent.
  11. Trevor Bauer is the guy to get. He can be a top of the rotation starter and he will almost certainly come cheaper than his talent level would suggest. The guy was blackmailed and deserves a chance to pitch in MLB again and we should be the team to give him that opportunity.
  12. I think Devin is the next one to go which would be the right move. With two years of control left this is the time to get the most in return and not have to settle for less like we did with Burnes.
  13. The Brewers lineup was also much better then and Yelich was an MVP not the mediocre hitter that he is today.
  14. Thats all well and good but the fact remains that the original deal was terrible.
  15. Yes Arnold made a great trade bailing Stearns out of what was a very bad trade. Stearns gets no credit for the Contreras deal and if it wasn't for Arnold as well as Oakland being stupid the Hader deal would have gone down as a total dud.
  16. The original Hader trade was terrible for the Brewers and is only saved because Oakland for some stupid reason wanted Ruiz bad. Yes things worked out great for the Brewers but that is only due to Oakland bailing us out which doesn't change the fact that the original trade wasn't a good one.
  17. The lesson to be learned from all of this is to either sign guys early and buy out a few free agent years or trade guys with 2 years of control left. Very few teams are willing to overpay for one season of even a top of the rotation starter like Burnes. The mistake is not trading Burnes its not trading him a year earlier for what would have been a better return. What exactly is the plan with this team. Why sign Hoskins and then trade Burnes. This rotation has gone from top 5 or so in the sport to possibly bottom five. No team with Wade Miley as a number two in a rotation is a serious contender not even in the lousy division that this team plays in. The O/U for this team is 75.5 telling you that the market thinks this is one of the worst teams in baseball and certainly not a contender. I for one have wanted to trade Burnes for awhile now just think they waited too long and as a result didn't get an impressive package for an ace.
  18. Now that we've moved Burnes its time to move Devin and Adames. Vegas currently has the Brewers 2024 O/U wins total at 75.5 thinking we are a bottom 10 team in the sport. We have the second worst odds to win our division ahead of only the Pirates. You can argue whether or not we are a rebuilding team but the books all think we are. I think the new strategy moving forward will be to trade guys with 2 years of control to maximize the return. While I don't think we got fleeced with the Burnes trade I do think we would have gotten a ton more in return if we had traded him a year earlier and thats why I want to trade Devin now while he has two years of control.
  19. I guess Miley is the number two starter as of now which is not exactly reassuring.
  20. The Brewers have been favored or close to it to win the division the last 5 years or so. I'm sure its been quite awhile since the O/U for wins was as low as 78.5.
  21. Burnes did come up small in the playoffs so I'm fine with trading him just don't like the players we got back.
  22. Yeah that injury was devastating to the future especially because I think we would have had a chance to sign him long term.
  23. The Brewers could trade Chourio for a ham sandwich and you would find a way to defend it.
