  1. He'll never hit, his elbow is all out of whack. And by the way, Braun has a hitch in his swing. Gwynn is a terrible defensive OF. Ah, the misses of the amateur scouts. I'm no scout either, but at least I know it.
  2. Lo has no range though, his fielding percentage won't take that into account.
  3. 15 straight losing seasons make no difference at all...they are where they are. They might need to tear it all down and start over, who knows.
  4. I'm just thankful Hancock did not take anyone else but himself out with his irresponsible behavior...of course, if he had, his pop would be suing their kin as well.
  5. It's a shame fans that do not understand the success cycle and think their problems will be solved by throwing money at a few mediocre FA's...haven't the Orioles proven this does not work? Support your team and shut up. If you want to prove your a bandwagoneer, support this foolishness.
  6. My dream boyfriend.
  7. They never tell me my belt needs to be replaced. I'd take that as a hint to get it fixed, or at least get it checked by a mechanic you trust. Oh, and take a look at me...I know nothing about running.
  8. They are not bad at all, compared to what I thought they'd be, I thought they might have 20-22 wins right now.
  9. I was depressed that the Crew did not see what they had in Scutaro. They had a cheap utility guy and let him go for nothing. Other than that, I thought it was kind of sad the AAA vets seemed to be oblivious to the fact they were simply not good enough to play in the bigs. I mean, you're 32 and have a .305 OBP in AAA...and you're just hoping for a chance the next year?
  10. There was a NFL Europe? I miss a lot of stuff playing online poker 4 hours a day.
  11. Lofton and Otsuka would be a near perfect deadline acquisition...but it would take Gwynn and other fine prospects, without a doubt.
  12. 1. Lo would be a nice addition. 2. The Crew has no interest in a 3rd backup IF, barring injury. 3. If they would replace Counsell or Graffy, they wouldn't do it with Loretta, he's basically the same player. Now if a RH hitter with some pop became available...
  13. Balfour is a nice option, but no one's pitching poorly at all. The only spot open would be the 12th man, who would not get regular work anyway.
  14. Stanton is not just effective versus LH's, and would be a fine addition.
  15. It's drugs or something equally bad, so I'm sure only a couple teams expressed any interest.
  16. Houston does not want to play that many West Coast games. It is what it is until we add 2 more and have 32.
  17. I'd say 70/30 against, but 3 months ago, I would have said 98/2. The Crew might just spend on a FA for LF, as 6 spots are filled for about $10M in '08. If they do not bring in a top-tier guy, they could find a Trot Nixon type cheaper than $9M.
  18. There is no "police" force watching this, but I believe you have to say you have at least one disabled person with you, until they are released to the public an hour or so before the game.
  19. American Disabilities Act? It means they are handicapped accessible.
  20. I had heard he is a small forward. I know nothing about him, but he sure looks more like a SF than a C.
  21. I think everyone thought that ball was gone, based on the swing and location of the hanging curve. I don't think any hitter would have ran down the line full speed after that. Carlos thought it was gone too, as he threw the ball into the SS, rather than to 2B, if he thought he had a play, or to 3B, if he did not think he did. The fact the SS was where he was tells me he never moved either, as he should have been in between the LF and either 2B or 3B. It fooled everyone, Billy must have got the top half of the ball just a bit, rather than the lift it appeared he had gotten.
  22. Why would they consider trading Hughes for Jenkins? That's just pie-in-the-sky silly. Hughes is very unlikely to go anywhere, and if he does move, it'll be in a package that includes a talent of ARod or Pujols magnitude, not Jenkins, a solid veteran player.
  23. Players should be at the highest level in which they can have some success. If you rush a player, it's not a huge deal, as who cares if they spend 1 year at AA and 1 year at AAA, or .5 and 1.5 years...the only caveat being that the early promotion and struggles not affect a player mentally.
  24. I will only say that Ramblings' estimate is 4x what Brewerfan.net is, despite the fact I'm sure BF.net gets about 25x the traffic, minimum. Suffice it to say, I don't think it's worth the monitor space it's printed on.
