  1. oops, my bad... missed a few innings. sorry. Little harder to argue taking Knebel out when you know who's available.
  2. Well Albers, Barnes and Jennings are in the pen. Not a lot of great options there. Yup, I get it... I see no reason Hader is unavailable today. We baby him way too much imo. Hader already pitched....
  3. Didn't see it. He dogged it? If so, totally unacceptable. He certainly wasn't running his fastest. Although I'm not sure I've ever seen Shaw run as fast as he can.
  4. Pure genius. The rules should obviously prevent this, but if they do not it is silly that teams have a catcher to begin the inning. You'd still want a catcher for foul-tick 3rd strikes and catching pop outs near the plate. A catcher is probably more valuable defensively than a 5th infielder or 4th outfielder. Wouldn't the batter get to first on every strikeout? Essentially a drop third strike.
  5. For a guy that flew from New York to Los Angeles to play a game that day and then go again Kershaw? This is not an overreaction, this guy is a straight scrub.
  6. Fell asleep before the game ended. Woke up turned one ESPN and...
  7. Maddux and Glavine would have had 5 ERAs if we have e-balls and strikes. Chacin would have given up one less grand slam in his career too
  8. I remember this happening last year to in Carolina.
  9. I think I'd take Bickford over Ponce, but I agree with everything else.
  10. Here is a pretty awesome overlay of Jeffress' 2-seamer and curveball. Arm slot is identical. I don't understand how it's possible to make contact, ever.
  11. 1- Keston Hiura 2- Corbin Burnes 3- Tristen Lutz 4- Zack Brown 5- Corey Ray 6- Lucas Erceg 7- Brice Turang 8- Mauriciio Dubon 9- Troy Stokes 10- Trey Supak 11- Adrian Houser 12- Marcos Diplan 13- Payton Henry 14- Jacob Nottingham 15- Trent Grisham 16- Jake Gatewood 17- Micah Bello 18- Braden Webb 19- Larry Ernesto 20- Mario Feliciano 21- Chad McClanahan 22- Joe Gray 23- Pablo Abreu 24- Quitn Torres-Costa 25- Caden Lemons
  12. Braun has been one of the most clutch players on the team... And that's about it right now. Still have faith he has a hot streak in him this year.
  13. It is a mystery why he ever gets a fastball anymore It's a mystery as to why he thinks he would ever get a fastball.
  14. Agreed. Also seemed as if the Brewers were in the running for every player that got traded which adds to the excitement. Stearns was extremely active.
  15. If that third piece isn't big, i think this is a good trade for the Pirates. Glasnow looks like a bust and Meadows hasn't lived up to his earlier prospect status. Bob Nightengale: ‏ The player to be named in the Chris Archer trade, according to a #Rays official, is hardly a throw-in or fringe prospect. It's a player of significant value.
  16. If that third piece isn't big, i think this is a good trade for the Pirates. Glasnow looks like a bust and Meadows hasn't lived up to his earlier prospect status. Meadows is 23 and has 150 career ABs. A little premature to say if he is or isn't living up to prospect status.
  17. Same can be said for runs gained from better offense. This will have to be a wait and see experiment.
  18. Agreed with everything here. Also glad that, given some of the trades, Stearns didn't feel pressured to overbid for players. I wonder what the offer for Archer was given they were in the hunt with what the Pirates offered.
  19. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/baltimore-orioles/yearly/payroll/ Schoop has 1 year left and is a UFA in 2020
  20. Villar, Ortiz, and Carmona getting shipped to Orioles.
