  1. Back to 17 over. 2.5 games from the best record in the NL. Tobiace Cyers going tonight. Exciting times.
  2. 16 games over, 101+ run diff, 15-15 since July 1, this series was good for the soul. Forget the Dodgers, Brewers are three games out of the best record in the NL.
  3. Quincy Hall was flailing so badly, he looked more likely to finish 8th than 1st. I saw him come around the corner and thought he was tying up. Amazing run. Looking forward to the 200.
  4. I know it was yesterday, but the men's 1500 was outstanding. Not often a race without a rabbit comes in within 1.3 seconds of the world record. Ingebrigtsen and Kerr's beef is great, but Ingebrigtsen was so obsessed with keeping Kerr behind him he gave Hocker the inside lane. Inexcusable, but probably an indicator that Inge knew he was fading and was doing everything he could to hang on. And Gabby Thomas in the 200 was simply amazing to behold.
  5. ESPN's headline initially said the Valdez threw the second no-hitter of his career. I checked the box score and they had removed him for Hader. ESPN jumped the gun a little bit.
  6. Out of town, missed the game, but the results have some of you...wired.
  7. I looked it up. After you predicted a 12-16 April and a 12-18 May, the team did the exact opposite at 34-24. So you sat out June and July until they started July with a 5-8 record, then chimed in. Now you are back with an 11-17 prediction after dropping some snark in the optimism thread. I get to add you to my ignore list, I guess.
  8. So you’re onto their perpetual gaslighting, you don’t believe they are trying to win a series, Attanasio isn’t going anywhere, what keeps you coming back?
  9. Wow, nice call on that 2-1 for the Brewers
  10. So stupid that the Dodgers picked up Turner and Scherzer at the 2021 deadline.
  11. Okay, no one started this one, so I will. Rough July. 11-13, 4-8 at home(!), 7-5 on the road. Mar/Apr 18-11 May 16-12 June 16-11 July 11-13 August has 28 games scheduled, including a doubleheader at Cincinnati at the end of the month. @Was 3 @ATL 3 Cin 3 LAD 4 Cle 3 @StL 3 @Oak 3 SFG 3 @Cin 3 (4th game in the series on 9/1) 15 away, 13 home. I'll go 16-12. They need to play at least that well. If they do, they will be 18 over .500 beginning in September. Then, if they played .500 in September, they would have 90 wins. StL and Pit would need to go 34-19 the rest of the way to catch them.
  12. Please don't bring up 2014. Now I need a paper bag to breathe into.
  13. I missed it, how bad was the Ortiz error?
  14. And then they small ball the Brewers right back. This is just too hard to watch.
  15. The lack of power is startling. 2 runs on three singles, a walk, and a sac fly completely negated by two Atlanta solo homers.
  16. Brewers scored first!? Hallelujah! Time for the old double-steal with Roadrunner Rhys and Speed Sanchez on base.
  17. Anyone else having trouble with the Bally app? I was forced to take an update before watching and it is freezing constantly.
  18. Maybe, just maybe, this had something to do with it? Would be a shame if, you know, Flaherty had to miss a few starts. Or the season. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/yankees-reportedly-backed-out-of-jack-flaherty-trade-following-medical-review.html "According to Rosenthal, word spread around the league that the Yankees had concerns regarding Flaherty’s medicals in the run-up to the deadline, although the only other team to actually see those medicals for themselves was the Dodgers."
  19. They take on more money than any other franchise, so they have to give up less capital in prospects. Always.
  20. If Montas pitched 5.1 or 5.2 innings and gave up 3 runs, how would you feel? That's a 5 ERA. I will take that. Then the bats can come back from their slow start and 3-0 deficit against the other team's bullpen while Mears and company shut down the opponents. A quality start, defined as 6 innings with 3 runs or fewer, would leave a pitcher with a 4.5 ERA if they gave up three runs every time. Would you think that was a good pitcher? The Brewers have done well with starters (and openers) who hang in there and keep the team in the game.
  21. Wiemer is from Michigan, played at U of Cincinnati. He played for the Bedford Kicking Mules in high school. His career will be helped by access to Skyline Chili 24/7.
