  1. I think I’m too crabby to watch this game.
  2. I get what you are saying about STL (and I have the same ptsd regarding them), and this isn't directed at you specifically, but it's mathematically impossible to have clinched a division after 60 games. The Brewers have a 7-game lead. How much better could we expect it to be? Playing at a 97-win pace currently. Of course the Cardinals haven't gone away. But they and the Cubs are at .500. St. Louis has been over .500 for exactly TWO days since the beginning of the 2023 season (5-4 after 9 games this year, and 2-1 last year). Can the Brewers play .500 the rest of the year? Cards and Cubs would have to win at a .600 clip to catch them. If the Brewers can get to 90 (my prediction back in March), those two teams have to play 20 games over .500 to catch them. Of course it could all fall apart, but if it does, it will be more about the Brewers coming back to the pack than it will about the Cubs and Cardinals. And if the Brewers win 90 and get caught, well, most of the fans on this site predicted them to have 75-80 wins so they really have no room to complain.
  3. They are right there. Need to make the Philly bullpen pay like they’ve been doing lately. Nice job by Wilson keeping them in it.
  4. That's not true. If Drew Rasmussen had won a Cy Young with the Rays, Adames would still be on the Brewers roster, and the trade would be seen differently. I think that the lack of success of the players that the Brewers traded away is part of the grades of these trades. Yelich, Peralta, all were traded for the eventual WAR equivalent of a bag of balls, and they would also still be on the team if the players traded away had some success.
  5. Freddy would take that deal, given the run support he has had
  6. Sure. 3 runs is the same as giving up seven runs. SMH
  7. Just came here to start this thread. Thanks for doing it. 16-11.
  8. Considering the league-wide team batting average is .240, and league average OPS is .695, I think it’s good to view it in the current environment. .259 and .755(!) is exciting. Pitching is too good.
  9. Brebbia did a lot of damage in 20 pitches
  10. Pro tip for Rhys: Hit homers, they're easier on the hamstrings.
  11. Favorite post in the Cubs game thread against the Reds: "What's Counsell's WAR (Wins Above Ross)?"
  12. Get that devil talk out of here, mister.
  13. It's funny that with that win pct, they would still only be 70-92 over a full season with those two starting. Plus, they might get tired, starting every other game.
  14. "...it's like we traded Burnes for two Keston Hiura's"
  15. As my first post made clear, I don't understand if the thought is Mitchell comes off the IL on the 17th and then will need time in the minors, or if the plan is to activate him sooner and have him back with the big league team on the 17th. Anyone?
  16. Why wouldn't you challenge? Unless you just want to leave town, Craig.
  17. Ah, my feed stalled as the ball bounced away from amaya!
  18. Who's out there? Herget, Peguero, Paredes?, Milner?
