  1. '27 Yankees scored three or fewer runs 40 times. They scored 337 runs in 26 others (13 per). Their message boards must have been nuts. Especially since their entire payroll was less than it cost the Brewers for a week of Jesse Winker. Cheap ass. And yes, I am saying the Brewers are better than the '27 Yankees. More Hall of Famers, for sure.
  2. I wonder how many other teams people watch. You see most of the rankings of offense and the Brewers rank well, but many insist that they are bad, maybe even the worst. I hated last night’s game, but it happens. I watch baseball as I work from home, from noon til the west coast games are played. Look at the numbers Sveum posted. 4th in WRC, third in runs, that’s not “squeaking by”. If it’s not enough that the Brewers rank highly in those metrics, what are you asking for? For them to be an outlier at an ordinal above the rest of MLB? I learned in this thread that they aren’t good in productive outs. While interesting, I don’t know what they can do to be more clutch. Which I think is what that is. But they are in first place, even as they squeak by.
  3. I am reminded of the radio ads for buying gold. "Gold is at an all-time high! Buy now!" Who buys when something is at its highest value? The window for extending Contreras may have passed. Long time to play out to see what his value is down the road.
  4. Don’t want to get caught short in extra innings like they did on monday
  5. Houser has not been good this year. 7.88 ERA, 0-4. Was demoted to the bullpen and brought out for a spot start last night. Gave up six runs in 5 innings. Just doesn't seem to have much left.
  6. Not sure where to post this, but was Vieira really worthy of being dumped? Live arm, wasn't great, I know. Or was it that he is out of options so that was the only choice?
  7. Any statistic that has STL at the bottom is a good stat.
  8. Murphy is this year’s Hiura. The topic that will bubble up in every game thread. 2022 it was Yelich’s contract.
  9. nice job getting out of it. Ready to order the Gasser jersey
  10. They can talk about Chourio’s “teachable moment”, but to me the teachable part is if you can end the game, try to end it by diving for that ball
  11. Bullpen that had to cover 8 innings has to cover more. Good thing old reliable Gasser is on the mound tomorrow.
  12. I think it must be roasting hot inside that stadium
