  1. Dislocated shoulder. Doing an MRI tomorrow to determine the extent of any additional damage. Not real surprising that the guy is seemingly fighting injuries every year. Zimmer has run him into the ground.
  2. That is going to be difficult. He was the best bat in the lineup last season, and it wasn't particularly close. I personally think he's going to be a huge loss.
  3. If a player has EVER played the position in the minors, they are a viable MLB option there in Clandy's mind. Heck, even if they once played there in college, and jokingly talked about one day playing there again, ala Ryan Braun at SS, they are a viable option. These thoughts are simply not based in baseball reality.
  4. *banging head against the wall. The bolded part is the only portion of this post that is correct. Until Stearns signs an extension with the Brewers all sorts of wild speculation is going to be out there. If wild speculation were happening anywhere, it would be here. It isn't. Well ... it mostly isn't

  6. That the one you are looking for? https://www.ebay.com/itm/373795337674?hash=item5707f035ca:g:lvgAAOSwWjxhlU9f If so, throw an offer at the guy and see if he accepts.
  7. Exactly! That's why I continue to scoff at those who believe that it's a foregone conclusion that David Stearns ends up with the Mets. What high-end front office person would want to touch that situation with a 10-foot pole?
  8. The Cardinals are run well. And that makes me mad. Hoping that the managerial change brings them down a peg or two in 2022.
  9. According to a Tom H tweet just now, he was granted a rare 4th option.
  10. He's out of options, so this spring is "put up or shut up" time. Edit: Apparently he has been granted a 4th option, per Tom Haudricourt.
  11. https://www.mlb.com/video/j-c-mejia-s-six-strikeouts Some pretty nasty movement on his slider and two-seamer. Color me somewhat intrigued.
  12. Gonna need Bahktiari playing at 100% before the end of the season. Pretty obvious that he suffered some sort of issue in his rehab over the last week or so.
  13. The way Vikings fans are acting today, you'd think they just won the dang Super Bowl. They are still a 5-5 team. They play the 49ers next week, which is no gimme. Lions should be a win. Steelers on Thursday, Dec. 9 is a true toss-up . Long lay-off before they face the Bears at Soldier Field on Monday, Dec. 20. Then they get the Rams at home Dec. 26, Packers at Lambeau Jan. 2 and Bears at home Jan. 9. I personally think they lose to the 49ers, Rams and Packers. Even if they sweep the Bears (not an easy task), and beat the Lions and Steelers, that still only puts them at 9-8. That is very much a team with its back against the wall. They have a tough road to even get a playoff spot.
  14. I suppose they could try to hang onto Severino, but note this is only a one-year deal.
  15. Uh oh ... is David Stearns starting to get predictable? I don't want him zigging when others also zig. He needs to zag.
  16. Severino is 6 years younger and better with the bat. Your argument seems quite ludicrous and completely not based in any sort of reality IMO.
  17. If Buxton continues the offensive break out he showed in 2021 before getting hurt, that is 100% corner OF worthy.
  18. Ok, thanks for letting me know. FYI, sentences start with capital letters as well. Thought someone should let you know. He will ignore that suggestion, just as he has for years.
  19. I seriously don’t know who’d be more excited about that OF, Brewer pitchers or opposing pitchers To me, another defensive CF is not the best allocation of resources I think calling Buxton simply a "defensive CF" is seriously underestimating his offensive abilities. The guy was a legit MVP candidate last year before injuries got in the way, and was good in 2019 and 2020 as well. But that appears to be what you are going to get with him. A high-end offensive and defensive performer that you'll be lucky to get 100 games out of.
  20. While pitching for a team that went 78-84. Team records probably shouldn't play a part in how the Cy Young is determined, but they likely do.
  21. He's one of those guys that you pretty much have to plan for getting 100 games out of, best case. You'd need a solid CF backup plan, and you gotta hope that he is healthy come September. With that said, I certainly wouldn't give up anything close to a huge haul for him.
  22. My guess is the team is looking into the future, and is likely planning for a worst-case scenario of a few down years starting with next year's likely salary cap mess. The team hitched its wagon to the idea of one last ride in 2021. We are likely going to be staring at a very different packers team starting next season. And while the fanbase will continue to be rabid, fans are probably more likely to fork over money in a stock sale while the team is a legit Super Bowl contender. That may not happen for awhile after this season.
  23. The Packers are much more than simply a professional sports team to a lot of people in Wisconsin. The team is truly a big part of their identity. Giving a blanket statement calling those people "suckers" is pretty disingenuous, in my opinion. I don't plan on purchasing a share in this sale, but I will happily admit to buying one in 2011. It has a nice frame, and a place on the wall next to some other memorabilia pieces. It's cool to look at. I guess I'm a sucker too.
  24. Pedro Severino looks like he'd be an obvious Pina replacement. He hits lefties well, and is only 28 years old.
  25. It really does seem like Badger fans typically also cheer on the Golden Eagles (except when the two play each other), but Marquette fans hate the Badgers. Is it some sort of "Little Brother Syndrome"? I don't get it.
