  1. Trevor would be an interesting get. High launch angle, strikeouts. League average in walks. Almost a full 10% better than league avg on hard hit percentage. 30-30 player with batting 290ish last 3 years. Yes, a lot is aided by Coors Field. But he also plays elite defense. Will be a free agent after his 18.5 mil salary this year. Vs Brewers he has 20 games. 9 homers and a 1.015 ops. Would he be able to have similar stats playing many games at AmFam? He’d be a fun one to tap some potential there.
  2. Can guarantee Stearns hasn’t done “nothing”. And a reminder may be needed that he can offer the moon to someone. Doesn’t mean that they want to come to Milwaukee. Under Stearns our teams have been Atleast competitive each year. I believe that’ll hold true again this coming year. With 1-2 “bigger” moves yet to be made.
  3. The problem is 10 million per season in today's MLB isn't that much. Role players like Avisail Garcia, James McCann, and back of the rotation starters like Drew Smyly are now getting ten million per year. Thank you! When we shell out $18-$20 mil a season for player like Semien or Turner, then we'll talk about Mark not being cheap... We can be interested in these big FAs all we want, until we hand out that kind of money to a FA then I'll continue to say that. This is an unfair comparison. Our owner, with the resources/revenue, has done a very good job using capitol. Mark’s net worth is barely at $700 mil. Which is low by professional sports owner standards. He will never be the one spending like the Nats, Yanks, Dodgers, etc. so to expect that is unrealistic and you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. Like Billy Beane says “it’s and unfair game”. But Marks ownership has brought us 5 playoff app in 15 years, 2 NL Champ series. Of course I’d love to win a World Series, but I’ll take this Owner over many in MLB.
  4. Yelich, García, Braun (Twice), Cain, Suppan, Garza, Grandal, moose, rameriez, Weeks, Sheets, Gange, fielder, Cameron, Grienke, Hart, Loshe, Hill. And a bunch more in the $7-9mil range. All those players were given $10 mil for a season under Mark A. Ownership. Whether it was the best use of funds is another conversation. But this constant rhetoric that he is “cheap” is old. Buds ownership was cheap, not Mark A. Look past the player salaries and see what he invests back to the overall experience. He’s a phenomenal owner.
  5. High contact rate. High walk rate. Low strikeouts. 20 homer 30 double potential. Wow would he look good behind yelich!!
  6. Restructure/extend Rodgers. Use Love to trade up in the draft/trade for impact player (JJWatt and Kenny Stills??). There are countless possibilities. But the Packers would be foolish to not keep Rodgers around for awhile. Hall of fame QBs don’t come around each cycle like we are used to.
  7. May not mean anything...but none of the promo stuff coming from the Brewers has Hader included. Yelich, woody, etc. hader has been the lone missing star player. Again, may not mean anything. But found it interesting non the less.
  8. To make the money work you’d have to part with a larger contract (yelich, cain or García) in all likelihood. Also, move makes no sense unless there is a for sure DH for the next 4 years. He is Horrid on defense. Would LOVE having him behind yelich in the lineup!
  9. “I’m not looking for the best players, I’m looking for the right ones.” Herb Brooks Stearns may be taking that kind of thinking to a new level.
  10. Looking at some career stats. It’s pretty insane that Joe Flacco ranks #19 all time for yards. The game has shifted so much that he’s above guys like Moon and Montana. My opinion, only Rodgers, Big Ben, Brady, Wilson and Brees should be current QBs in HOF. This is the elite of the elite. Much like all Hall of Fames these days has turn to “Hall of Very Good”.
  11. Boy, king looked slow. Nice play though!
  12. Honest question...how many moments per season like that happen for him? He basically went from barely any to basically none.
  13. Haven’t followed the Washington Football Team at all. But I can imagine this is a huge undertaking to rebrand everything about the organization. I wonder what the dollar amount would end up being or just time spent on it.
  14. Nick Collins. Man. Every time he’s brought up, I think how much that set the team back. Play maker coming into his prime.
  15. Is there something particular about this week specifically that makes you say that? Just the that the winter meetings are happening? I tend to agree that Hader has thrown his last pitch as a Brewer. Which, if true, he’s had a pretty incredible run for us.
  16. Production aside. The 2020 team definetly lacked the “swagger” the previous years had. Cain is a major part in team culture/chemistry. Him, Suter, Pina all fit in that. So you’re not just losing a productive player, you’d be losing a respected clubhouse leader.
  17. Topa, Rasmussen, Williams, yardley being all league minimum guys, Suter making 1.5, Peralta making 1.2 all makes for a pretty cheap pen. Hader obviously makes it almost double. But overall that’s a solid upside, relatively cheap pen.
  18. As fun of a rotation of Woody, Burnes and Snell would be. I don’t know if that’s the best route for Hader. Plus Rays would only be saving a few million. Their philosophy is for prospects. If they wanted to trade some guys like Tourang, Ashby, etc I could see it. But Hader is going to get expensive quickly for the Rays. We need offense more anyway. Team looking to shed payroll is the Indians. Wonder if they would part with Jose Ramirez and his team friendly deal?
  19. This is a pretty solid take. Much of which I agree with. I know the money normally spent at games, was used for “better” things (home updates, etc). I think it’s likely though, that they could manage 10,000ish fans 81 times next year. There is still a good portion of society that isn’t all that worried by the virus. I do think the political world entering sports, has done more damage than they will admit.
  20. For the reasons you laid out, is why I would expect a pretty significant increase in ticket prices from what we saw in 2019. Not sure how much but should be quite a bit. Wisconsin fans should be used to it by now. Packers increase prices basically every year it seems.
  21. Lowest ERA since 1900, minimum 25 innings: 1. Earl Moore, 0.00, 1908 2. Devin Williams, 0.33, 2020 Lowest FIP, same minimum: 1. Craig Kimbrel, 0.78, 2012 2. Williams, 0.86, 2020 Highest strikeout rate, same: 1. Williams, 53%, 2020 2. Aroldis Chapman, 52.5%, 2014 Posted on ESPN today.
  22. An expensive nothingburger at that! He got 12 and 9 from twins last two years...negative war this past year at that. Pass.
  23. He was pretty solid in 2019 with an almost 400 obp and 281 avg 911 ops. Really terrible year in 2020 but most did. 1yr 4/5 mil probably.
  24. Give me McNeil and Davis from Mets for Hader and Hiura and call it a day. Not sold on Hiura unless DH is sticking around. Hader is about to get 6+ million. Our bullpen/starting rotation us some young bright spots. McNeil and Davis gives us two controlled quality bats in positions of need.
  25. An F? For a team that made the playoff? Yikes. I could understand b/c range, but this is a bit harsh.
