  1. Adamczewski puts together some really good at bats. Really works for walks, and I’ve seen at least two 9-pitch K’s the last couple days. Bitonti homers him home.
  2. Burke being teamed with Luke Adams, Pratt, and Arienamo infield in A+ should be fun boxscore watching. Same with Dinges and Payne joining the Yophery, Adamczewski, Bitonti, and Baez 18/19 year old top of the order.
  3. Jacob Misiorowski Stud. Please stay healthy. Please throw strikes.Jeferson Quero Injury sucks. Still very young for AAA.Tyler Black Will he ever get a shot here? Robert Gasser Injury sucks.Brock Wilken Dunno. Have a bad vibe.Cooper Pratt Maybe a little overrated due to his draft ranking on MLB.com?Mike Boeve Steady. Nothing spectacular?Logan Henderson Looks to be in the Burnes / Woodruff mold. Would probably be cracking a top 100 if he was drafted higher? Brett Wichrowski Not gonna lie, Baseball America has me putting him higher than I'd like. Another Burnes / Woodruff under the radar type?Luke Adams Crazy OBP, crazy HBP, low BABIP, gotta think he puts it all together at some point. I wonder what kind of college stats he'd be putting up / where would he be drafted in 2025?Luis Lara Disappointing year.Yophery Rodriguez Young for A ball. Seems to have it all. Needs to put it together.Josh Knoth Please stay healthy.Bishop Letson Please stay healthy.Jadher Areinamo We'd be freaking out about this guy if we weren't stacked with depth.Braylon Payne Cool hair.Blake Burke Feels like a Milwaukee first baseman. Hopefully he flys through the system.Bryce Meccage Please stay healthy.Eric Bitonti Mystery box.Jesus Made Put any of the DSL guys here. I'm excited to see that group move together. This has to be the deepest the system has ever been, right? Having Bitonti and all our draft picks barely make the top 20 is insane.
  4. I wonder if we just ran out of time on the 5% overage. We ended with something like $700k left to spend after spending every last dollar for years.
  5. Should be noted that the two guys we are waiting on (Malamazian and Brummel) are both committed to Indiana. Same as our 9th pick, Griffin Tobias.
  6. Renz might be the youngest player in the draft. Isn't 18 until Thanksgiving. Dorchies our 10th rounder turns 18 in late October and is 6"6".
  7. So we had reports earlier in the day of Travis Smith (15) and Tyler Renz (18) being signed but no numbers, correct?
  8. Come on Nunnallee and Malamazian. Love me some smooth contact bats.
  9. I’ve seen stuff saying he also lost a lot of time due to heart surgery. Guy just needs to catch a break and get healthy. https://www.on3.com/teams/mississippi-state-bulldogs/news/mississippi-state-baseball-travis-smith-kentucky-transfer/ Also he was very highly rated out of high school. Travis Smith (2021): https://www.perfectgame.org/players/playerprofile.aspx?ID=407405 Chris Levonas: https://www.perfectgame.org/players/playerprofile.aspx?ID=630036 Bryce Meccage: https://www.perfectgame.org/players/playerprofile.aspx?ID=640499
  10. I had a hard time ranking him on our top prospect list. He’s 20 in A+ ball and has a .450 OBP. If he was in next year’s draft as one of the youngest college draftable players, would he be a no brainer first round pick / immediate top 100 guy? I find it hard to believe with metal bats and worse pitching he’s not putting up .300 average, .500+ OBP (I wanted to put down .600) and a ton of HRs at 3rd base.
  11. What’s the deal with Adams and these HBPs? How much does he crowd the plate? Is it just a product of having a good eye away, and guys have to pitch inside?
  12. Being lumped in with the Rays is good company if we are going with the whole "punt to a better draft class" theory.
  13. From what we've heard previously in the thread, we knew it would be a tough / impossible sign. We knew we'd have a ton of money available and thought we could influence that. We will get the same pick next year, it's not a total loss. Just pushing the pick back a year.
  14. But Broughton is rated higher than Letson was everywhere but MLB.com (who we don't seem to care about). I'll take another Letson or two. Malamazian also gives off huge Adamczewski vibes. I'll take everyone 11-20, gladly.
  15. Sounds like the choice is already been made for them. On the plus side, our Midwest scout has been responsible for Luke Adams, Bishop Letson, and Josh Adamczewski in the last two drafts. No misses. They went after 6 more midwest high schoolers in rounds 8-20 this year. I’d like to see all of them signed. Surely we can’t catch lightning in a bottle 9 out of 9 times…
  16. Is insane considered like late first round money? Cause we probably have that... Or is insane considered early/mid first round money? Cause that would truly be insane.
  17. Wonder if Meccage and Nunnalee both being Virginia recruits helps us any? Especially with him possibly being a catcher.
  18. It should be stressed that it's not just Nunnalee that we'd be going after in the late rounds. Travis Smith is a highly regarded pitcher who has had Tommy John and heart surgery derail his college career. Was talked about as an early round prospect.
  19. Well that settles that. Get Meccage signed, and try for Nunnalee and Smith which should be tough signs at 14 and 15.
  20. DeBery is a senior so he's a potential MAJOR under slot. I think the Levonas stuff is just seeing all that saved money and wanting more of it. I don't blame him, but I don't like it.
  21. My dream scenario. Throw big money at 14th and 15th rounders, $1M is tough to turn down. No idea what to do with the 3rd rounder. He could get $500k, he could get $10k. Kind of split the difference there.
  22. The 3rd round senior pick with a $788k slot is gonna be what makes or breaks the 11-20 rounds. Could be huge savings there…. That being said, the last time I got excited about big senior savings was our 2021 2nd rounder Russ Smith. He signed for $1M on a $1.44M slot (but an extra Covid year may have been in play there). Those 11-20 high schoolers in 2021 were draft eligible this year. One went in the 2nd round, and another went in the 4th.
  23. 75% would be $2,023,725. I think it'll be around there. Maybe round up a little bit to an even number like Payne did. Payne got 75.87% of slot.
  24. I'd put Meccage and Levonas in the Overslot+ category. I'd imagine both get closer to $2M.
