  1. I need something to improve my mood. Help me out here, Crew.
  2. A question that I often ponder, foolishly. Batting: Pearl Jam - Even Flow Beastie Boys - New Style(starting at "Let me clear my throat!" and ending before the "22 automatic on my person" part) Pink Floyd - Echoes(starting at 18:14 up to 18:44) Metallica - Ride the Lightning The Doors - Five to One Pitching: Pink Floyd - One of These Days Metallica - Battery
  3. Didn't Geoff Jenkins hold the record for longest HR at the CWS?
  4. C'mon Brewers, lets ruin their opener. Nice to see the city name on today's uniform. Long overdue, IMO.
  5. They've been doing the free preview since at least 2005. They also have a free preview for a week or so immediately after the All Star Game. Two of my favorite weeks of the year.
  6. Curling has begun! USA vs Germany on USA(the network) right now. It's the 2nd end, USA trails 1-0 after a poor last rock by USA skip John Shuster. We keep the hammer. Curling is my favorite winter Olympic sport, mostly because the Olympics are just about the only time it's on TV. Also, I find it tremendously fascinating.
  7. I don't get the anger towards Hart. Everyone here would do the same as him if given the opportunity. We shouldn't let ourselves get jealous over the money they make, it's just part of the game. I certainly won't boo him just because he won his case. That would make me look foolish. Also, as a Liberal I only enjoy spending conservatives money. I frugally keep mine hidden next to pictures of Chairman Mao in a bus I have buried in the back yard.
  8. In my post I should have noted that I certainly do not agree with how Prince made a scene after the game. That just shouldn't happen and now it's an unneeded distraction. I just found it foolish that the boys at the Bristol Co. thought it would have been better handled if Prince charged the mound because that's "part of the game". I just don't understand(not that I want to in the first place) how it's better to attack a guy on the field in front of women and children rather than in the bowels of a stadium in front of a couple of overweight security guys. Though I find it exciting, I've never felt good about seeing two teams throwing punches at each other on the field.
  9. Watching the Scott Van Pelt show on ESPN2. John Kruk was on and basically said the Dodgers handled it the way it's supposed to be handled and he also said Prince Fielder doesn't know how to play the game "the right way". The bald guy and his partner agreed with the overweight former mullet. That's the problem with these ESPN guys. They watch the pre-packaged highlights, know little to nothing about the context of the game and then spout their overblown opinions on things they think they know.
  10. MLB Network is replaying the top of the 9th right now. They just showed the catch. I think that's one of the greatest catches of all time, no doubt. To rob a HR, to have it pop out and for it to save a perfect game in the 9th inning definately makes it one of the best ever, in my opinion.
  11. Dewanye Wise has just made one of the greatest catches I've ever seen.
  12. Braden Looper doing his best Claudio Vargas today, minus all the walks.
  13. I don't want to see the Wave fold, but I would much rather have an outdoor team(USL) with a respectable pitch than an indoor soccer team, especially an indoor team that's in a league with a whole three other teams.
  14. Oooo, a Wilbert Harrison reference.... how relevant... and current. How is this guy taken seriously enough to be on national TV? Simply remarkable. Horribly remarkable.
  15. Heck of a first inning for Yo. Hopefully he can keep his pitch count down today and go deep into this one.
  16. If they do make this switch, I'm totally putting down for a replica at least. Long overdue. I prefer it because it's more or less traditional to have the city name on the road unis. And to me at least, it evokes slightly more pride if they wear the city name.
  17. The saddest part is that one Pirate fan actually made a t-shirt for the game. You can see it here. Ouch.
  18. I shouldn't have implied that you were taking his side. I get what you're saying now. If he is found innocent I would hope she would face some ramifications. And yeah, it's inapropriate to be trashing the guy before we hear the whole story.
  19. He is innocent until proven guilty, in a court of law. However, to even suggest that she's making it up based on your personal history of hearing stories is pretty lame, in my opinion. Domestic violence is a serious matter and should be treated as such. Especially when children are involved. Should he be found guilty I hope he gets the most severe punishment possible. There is no excuse. I hope he's innocent, and if so, can get past this and get on with his life.
  20. Yep, happens every time they open up a really large building. I think they found that some pipes at Miller Park were connected wrong when they did the same thing eight years ago.
  21. As long as he accurately describes the play on the field and adds some knowledge to the broadcast I'll be fine with him. If he lets the Cub fan in him show, I'll just listen to Ueck's innings and wait for Provus to be run out of town. I don't expect that to happen.
  22. I believe WTMJ broadcasts Saturday and Sunday games during spring. At least that's what they've done the last number of years. FSN showed 3 games last year, I think. I would like to think they'll do the same this year.
  23. While I agree with you, I prefer Seth in the pen, Wright would need to have a very impressive spring for the Brewers to consider that move. Also, Seth came up big at times as a starter last year and I think he should get a better shot at the #5 spot than Wright at this point.
  24. I too would like to add my support for Gabe in Tampa. His early April tear helped bridge the gap to Cam and his walkoff vs Washington was great, and unexpected.
