  1. It stands for educational and informative. I have no idea why it has to be there all show.

  4. White Sox/Cubs will start after what should be a short rain delay. Thankfully, those of us watching on WGN will not be subjected to Len Kasper's girlish yelling as Hawk and DJ will be calling this one.
  5. haha, contact play. What's terrible for us is apparently terrible for the Rockies too.
  6. At least Ned kept Kap in the game. Oh.... wait.
  7. Yost got so lucky it's not even funny. Props to Villa for getting out of it, but man. What are you thinking Ned?
  8. Here comes Villa for his 2/3rds of an inning.
  9. Looking at the pitching matchups and knowing that the horrible LF porch in Houston will find a way to give at least 2 games to the Stros, I'm going to say 3-3.
  10. Resigning myself to Wild Card hopes would take something away from the rest of the season, for me. If others want to write off the Cubs as NL Central Champs the first week of June, that's cool. It's just not for me. I know the odds, I just don't care about them as much as some. We're in much better position than in other years, and I'm fine with that, for now. But that could just be our modest winning streak talking.
  11. As long as the professionals on this team show up and play hard every day, I'm fine with anything the fans say. The fools in the stands have very little to no effect on the best in the game, so who cares? Let em, boo, let em cry, let em cheer. If it doesn't effect the game(which it shouldn't), I'm cool with it. Better to show we care than to have empty seats speak for everyone.
  12. Hah! That's one of the funniest analogies I've heard recently. Speaking of misidentifying players, after Dmitri Young hit his home run yesterday and they were showing the replay, Bill called him Christian Guzman. Shouldn't they have someone correcting him in his ear piece? Even if they did, Bill didn't correct himself. He corrected himself, albeit 4 or 5 seconds later, so he may have been told to say the correct name. But he did say Dmitri's name, eventually.
  13. Not sure when Ryan's on exactly, but the show is on at 3:30 central on ESPN.
  14. Sorry to go back to post #17 for this, but Ryan Braun has always said he can improve his play. To imply that he thinks he doesn't have to improve is incorrect if you believe what Braun has said in almost every interview he has given since being called up. The only cliches he used yesterday were in reference to the Red Sox. I wouldn't take anything he said about the Brewers as an overused term, especially considering the garbage we hear from Yost, and now Fielder, after every lackluster performance.
  15. Well, once we go like 1-9 on this trip, Ned will be gone. That should excite the anti-Ned crowd, but then the Brewers will probably lose 14 of the next 17 like old times and we'll finish with 90+ losses. That should clear out the bandwagon pretty nicely.
  16. I work tonight, so I wouldn't mind a double header on Sunday. That would be really lame for those of you who made the trip out there, so I hope they get it in tonight. I don't like our chances in this series, but if we take 2 of 3 I would simply be overjoyed. Let's go Soup!
  17. We've played the White Sox a few times in interleague. That was back when the NL Central would always play the AL Central. It's been a few years though. I like it, but I'd like to see them take one of the "rival" series away and throw in another team from the division we're playing. Thanks to interleague play we've played every team in MLB and the only team we've never seen in Milwaukee is Tampa Bay.
  18. I too miss Mr. Betts. He had a one of a kind voice. Robb is a great PA announcer and a good guy to boot. I hope everything goes well for him and hopefully he can get back to Miller Park as soon as possible.
  19. I'm 23 and I remember watching this show just about every day after school. It was one of my favorites as a kid. Helped me learn the state capitals. I smiled when I saw the headline, and figured that some wouldn't get it.
  20. No. I know you don't want anything but a yes or no, but I feel the need to explain my position. I don't think the Cards are as good as their record, I can't see that pitching staff holding up and half that lineup is hitting way over their heads. That said, they always seem to be in it in late August/Sept and I don't think this year is any different. As much as this makes me ill to say, I think the Cubs are clearly the favorites and I could see them with a pretty sizable lead at some point. I don't think they're a lock, but I think they have the best shot, by far. If the Brewers can somehow make a decent staff out of Sheets and Co, they can go as far as the bats will take them. I think this offense is going to be blowing pitchers away for a good portion of the season, we just haven't seen anything close to that yet. I'm of the opinion that this "team slump" will not continue. As for the coaching staff, I don't know what to think. Yeah, a change could spark the team somehow and get them on track, but I also think a change could just as easily screw with the team even more. I agree with the notion that a coaching change won't happen any time in the next couple weeks. It's still too early in my opinion, though the clock is ticking. And it's only getting later and later.
  21. The play by play guy is the normal Cards announcer as well. Way to go Fox.
  22. Neither will be blacked out, FSN will be showing the game on Sunday(in HD) however since TBS does not have the exclusive rights to their Sunday games.
  23. Hmm, it would be interesting to have rivals from the same division playing in the same city for a year. I know I'd go to every Brewers "road" game and I'd probably go to some others just to root against the Cubs. That said, this should not happen. I would not want our home to be the home of that team for one day much less a full year.
