  1. Thank you for the unexpected birthday present, Doug. I'm far more comfortable with this deal than I was with Gagne's.
  2. They are currently airing the Marlins/Mets game from the day we clinched. Currently tied at 2 in the bottom of the 6th. Should provide great entertainment in a little while with them airing the Mets broadcast. Nice little treat from MLB.com during these long winter months.
  3. My dad grew up following the Braves, his favorite player was big Joe Adcock. He told me a lot of cool stories about the game. I spent countless Sundays in summer listening to the Brewers on the radio in the back yard while I'd hit baseballs into the field next to our house. I was hooked at a young age. I have photos of myself when I was maybe 4 years old, full Brewers uniform, posing like it was a baseball card photo. Started going to games around that time. I thought County Stadium was a palace. The largest green grass field I had ever seen in my life, Bob Betts the old PA announcer with the greatest voice I'd never be able to put a face to. I was part of the kids fan club for years, got the What's Brewing magazine(I still look through my old copies every once in a blue moon). Billy Spiers became my favorite player after I recieved a What's Brewing with him on the cover making a full out diving stab of a ball. The strike couldn't stop a 9 year old from loving the game, the horrible Brewers teams from the 90s and early 00s couldn't stop me from following this team.
  4. First of all, many thanks to Jack Z for everything he's done to turn the farm system and this team into what it is today. I'm really happy for him as this is something that was overdue in my opinion. It was just a matter of time before someone nabbed him. Best of luck to Jack and the Mariners. Whoever replaces him will have a pretty important draft to look forward to.
  5. I think my move to this avatar earlier this season has finally paid off. It's sweet to know that the same fans that make Brewers/Cubs games at Miller Park so unenjoyable are tasting yet another heaping spoonful of choke. See you next Spring, Cubs fans. 100 years and counting.
  6. How awesome is this? Playoffs! I agree with Stevo, I'm far more excited than nervous. Tomorrow may be a different story. Go Yo!
  7. I'm relaxed. The Mets aren't the Pirates, they have talent. I don't expect us to win every game or even every series from here on out. Two very close games aren't going to worry me much. We don't have to win the Wild Card by 'x' amount of games. Get a win tomorrow and all is right with the world.
  8. I don't care what MLB says in the end, what I saw today was a no-hitter. The pitcher did not give up, in my opinion, a hit through nine innings. The play in question was a check swing dribbler back to the mound which the pitcher clearly muffed while the runner was at most half way down the line. I amazingly agreed with Bill on the FSN broadcast today. That was a weak call by the official scorer.
  9. According to this link it will be Thom Brennaman and Eric Karros.
  10. Just don't embarrass yourselves, Crew. Let's get a hit with RISP!
  11. Haha, both times I flip back to the Cubs game Hermida hit HRs. Tied again.
  12. Saw him during the Nats/Giants game for a minute yesterday. Migod, he must have added another 20-30 pounds. It was borderline disgusting. I wouldn't want him anywhere near any of the players in the Brewers organization.
  13. We're not playing the Cubs, we're playing the Astros. Even if they're in last, you cannot overlook them.
  14. Wow, sweet! Thanks Pedro and TPR, your generosity is much, much appreciated! Pedro, PM is coming your way with the info.
  15. Pedro, I don't think I'd give away Cubs/Brewers tickets, but I'm not as awesome as you. I'm in, even if I have to (gladly) miss work.
  16. Watching the Dodgers and the Rockies at the moment. Listening to Vin Scully is an absolute treat. Also, Armando Galarraga has a perfect game through 5 1/3 vs the Royals as I type this.
  17. I believe it lasts through Wednesday the 23rd.
  18. 11 runs, 17 pitches Cool idea, thanks!

  24. Andrew Siciliano, Rome's fill-in today, is beyond annoying. I hope Corey comes on soon, because the last 20 minutes have been a total waste of my hearing.
  25. I watched the Cubs/Cards game yesterday and was completely torn on who I wanted to win. I didn't really have any emotion either way when the Cards came back. I guess I just look at it like we're gaining on someone as long as the Brewers win.
