  1. I wouldnt be against getting Bichette but agree he wouldn't play SS for us. I would prefer to get a mlb ready prospect for Black or a higher end starter however. Do we think the Diamondbacks would trade Jordan Lawler or Geraldo Perdomo. For my trade money we match up well with them. We could trade Devin for Perdomo and maybe a second piece. I would love Lawler but I doubt he would be on the table.
  2. It's 18 base but the 4 million is only if he opts out. If he opts in he makes 18 and doesn't get the 4 million because he didn't op-out.
  3. Rhys gets 18 next year the 4 million buyout doesn't get added if he picks up his option.
  4. Quintana scares me a bit with our history of falling flat against him. Hopefully we can connect on some high fastballs early, we really need Willy, Rhys, and Gary Sanchez (if he starts at DH again) to do something tonight.
  5. Mitch White elected to be a free agent today. Hopefully he comes back and realizes how our staff helped improve him and that he should come back.
  6. Bad Monkey on Apple has been great especially if you like Vince Vaughn.
  7. Our AAA/AA/A+ staffs next year should look amazing AAA=Misi, Henderson, Patrick, Smith, CarRod (if one of those make the big league roster Wichrowski/Hunt or a free agent) AA-Wichrowski, Hunt, Kuehner, Cornielle, Manfredi, Crow A+=Manny Rodriguez, Knoth, Letson, Corniel, Galindez, Birchard/Woodward That doesn't leave room for guys like Rudy, Peterson, Aquino, Fitzpatrick, and 2024 college picks who could/should be starters.
  8. I agree that we don't need to move Hoskins, hopefully he can replicate his earlier career retutns. I would like to get a better backup for him. Bauers was passible but I getting a better 1B/DH option there would be a sneaky way to add value, if they could play some 3rd as well great.
  9. Score more runs than the Mets. In reality they need to keep the momentum up and be able to hit Manaea's sinker. His fastball (throws sinker, 4 seam, cutter) was worth 21 runs but he throws the sinker 44% of the time. Especially when there are runners on we can't hit into double plays.
  10. What happen to Payamps getting to the bag so late on that big play at 1st? For me, that was the big play of the game. Any chance Ashby was tipping pitches, especially with Stearns and a handful of guys who have played for us? With how good his stuff looked last night (i get location wasn't as crisp as possible) I find it hard he gave up 4 hits like that just off luck. I get pulling Peralta early after the poor inning he had but it did look like he settled down well in the 3rd and 4th. I guess I would have like to see him at least come out for the 5th and if he got into any kind of trouble have a short leash. I guess at least he will be available for Game 1 after we win these next 2 games.
  11. Boeve swing kind of reminds me of Joe Mauer and overall maybe like a left handed version of DJ Lemahieu. Any thoughts on his final position 3B, 1B, 2B, OF, does it matter more where Wilken, Black, and Adams end up? Of the corner IF prospects he has the highest floor for sure and at 6'4" there is still some time/strength for him to add some power. For me 1)Boeve 2)Arienamo 3)EMJ
  12. Hernandez is going to get a big contract (4/100ish) so he is 100% out. Mountcastle would be fine if we can move Hoskins, he will cost 6-7 million in arby with 2 years control and would likely cost 2 decent but not huge prospects or more.
  13. What about adding Jordan Montgomery to a minimal deal this offseason? I know we have plenty of lefties to be 5/6 starters or long men but Montgomery was to cosistent for to long for me to think he is just done because he missed spring training and was rushed back. Like a 1/3 million dollar deal with a couple ballooning team options could be a solid deal. I would expect our staff to get his mph back especially if he is a long man.
  14. I can't complain about the roster, I might have liked to see Huddy over Collins or Mone but it is nice to have the pinch runners/feilding replacements for close games so I am fine with that.
  15. It would be really nice to get to Severino early today, with the double header and the Mets playing 5 games in 4 days with a relatively thin bullpen it could case a lot of havoc. For us I would hesitate to pull Freddy if we get down by even 2 in the 1st couple innings. Our pen is rested and has enough guys who can throw back to back or multiple days. Freddy has shown to be really good or meh, if he is meh through say 2 innings I wouldn't hesitate, he could always throw some in game 3 if pulled that early. The Mets have a right hand dominant lineup so my guess is that we will see a more right handed relievers relied upon. Payamps, Megill, Ross, and Rae (as a reliever) will likely get more big situations than Ashby, Koenig, and Hoby or Hall (if on roster) 1 big advantage is that Francisco Alvarez only threw out 19% of runners this year and the running game should be a huge advantage (pretty sure we had a couple big sb games against the mets this year). Lindor and the OF'ers are the only baserunning threats and the OF aren't huge basestealers.
  16. I think Black will make a really good OF but it just doesn't seem like the IF defense is consistent enough to just hand over a position. If we had more of an opening at DH I think an argument could be made for him to be a utility guy at 1B, 2B, 3B, OF and DH. I am really leaning towards trading him towards a team in need of a young OF as the start of a trade for a high end pitcher.
  17. The Hayden Robinson injury really hurt, I thought he was close to an A ball call up and if he pitched well there could have jumped into the top 20/30 prospects potentially. Do any of the Dominican guys throw over the low 90's?
  18. I doubt the M's pick up his option (12 mill), his offense was poor .213/.296/.355 with a higher K rate than his norm but he did manage a 1.2 WAR. If he is under 5 million or so I would be fine with him probably more so than Yoan Moncada or a more expensive Glayber Torres. He wouldn't be my 1st option but offers the upside that our front office looks for. At 31, it isn't like his career is over and a rebound isn't out of the picture.
  19. We have some internal candidates in Collins, Mone, Miller, and Dunn but none have any level of trust built up. The group of Adams, Wilken, Boeve, and Bitonti are a bit to far away or have flaws to work out. The best internal option is probably Sal Frelick at 3B or 2B but who knows where he is defensively. On top of that replacing his defense in the OF with Yeli would be a downgrade of sorts unless he turns out to be a +10 runs saved IF which is probably a stretch.
  20. I would be fine with Goldy, it might be tough to get rid Hoskins. Goldy was much better the 2nd half or so and likely be solid on a 1 year deal.
  21. I like the idea of a bullpen game for Game 3 if needed maybe Myers and Montas throw an inning or two. I doubt our pen will be crazy overworked but I trust the pen more than Montas.
  22. I would find it hard not to have Yophery in the top 10 but don't have any major issues with that assessment.
  23. Bleacher Reports ranked us the 9th best system. Here is their write up. 1. RHP Jacob Misiorowski (Tier 1) 2. C Jeferson Quero (Tier 1) 3. SS Cooper Pratt (Tier 1) 4. 1B/OF Tyler Black (Tier 1) 5. SS Jesus Made (Tier 2) 6. 1B/3B Mike Boeve (Tier 2) 7. RHP Josh Knoth (Tier 2) 8. 3B Eric Bitonti (Tier 3) 9. 1B/3B Luke Adams (Tier 3) 10. RHP Logan Henderson (Tier 3) Year in Review Even with rising star Jackson Chourio exiting the prospect ranks, the Brewers still have a Top 10 farm system, led by hard-throwing Jacob Misiorowski and an intriguing collection of offensive talent. Teenager Jesus Made was signed for $950,000 in January, and he hit .331/.458/.554 with 21 extra-base hits and 28 steals in 51 games in the Dominican Summer League, giving him a ton of helium heading into his stateside debut in 2025.
  24. 1)3 team trade Devin to Yankees, Black, Bryse Wilson, and 3 Yankees prospect to CWS, we get Crochet (maybe some extra pieces like Contreras trade) 2) Elvis Peguero to LAA for Luis Rengifo 3) Rea/Civale and Hoby to Tex for P Jose Corniell and PTBNL IF Rengifo, LF Chourio, DH/1B/OF Yeli, C Contreras, CF Mitchell, 1B/DH Hoskins, IF Turang, IF Ortiz, RF Sal Bench- Haase, Perkins, Mone, Collins/Hicklen/FA Peralta, Crochet, Woody, Myers, Civale/Rea Megill, Hudson, Payamps, Koenig, Ashby, Hall, Yoho Mears/Bauk/Uribe/Zas/Herget/FA's That's seems wonderful to me, I think all 3 trades seem pretty logical. I don't know how much Crochet was asking for an extension so that does play into that 1st trade. All 3 teams come out happy if the CWS get enough from the Yanks. Rengifo would be a nice bridge that could fit our team extremely well to give our prospect another year. With Crochet it makes Rea or Civale expendable so we get a good arm for them and Hoby.
  25. What about trading for a SS? With Turang and Ortiz playing top notch defense and there likely being a bunch more SS prospect who are blocked or big leaguers getting pushed out. By my count here are teams with 2 good SS options. Boston- Rafeala/Mayer Arizona-Perdomo/Lawler Mets-Lindor-Williams/Acuna/Mauricio Mariners-Crawford-Emerson/Young (a ways away) Twins-Correa-Lee Cubs- Swanson-Shaw I still prefer trying to get a 3B option but there are some interesting SS options.
