    Montas has decent stuff still but is getting lit up. Why not just let Junis be a starter If we are paying 1 cent of his deal we got robbed.

    I still dream of a speed lineup that spring training had me thinking C=Contreras, 1B=Black 2B/SS/3B= Ortiz, Turang, and Frelick OF=Mitchell, Chourio, Perkins, Weimer DH=Yeli 7 guys with 30+ sb potential and Weimer and Ortiz capable of 15-20.

    Great post on Paredes, it makes me feel better about losing out on him to the Cubs. I just think Morel is trash, basically a poor man's Javy Baez so the Cubs did great even if Paredes isn't the same player in Wrigley.

    Mitchell, P CarRod, and OF CarRod for Fedde and John Brebbia Sox get 2 guys for now with really good upside and CarRod #2 as an eventual 4th OF. Fedde and Brebbia is another upside reliever. He has a 5 era but his strikeouts are way up and his FIP and advanced stats point to a much better pitcher. Remember the White Sox are one of the worst fielding teams. Also has a team option for next year. It's alot to give up for Fedde but needed to think we have a chance this year. We could always trade him in the offseason as well if need be.

    Love this, Blalock seemed to be on the 40 man cut line since he has been iffy in AA. I like Herrera a bunch but again our depth really makes him a borderline top 30 prospect. I doubt anyone would have picked him in the rule 5 if that is the case but it makes him a lot easier to move. Mears looks like a guy that can have a big improvement. His fastball has been worth 9 runs, and his breaking stuff has been -3. He has a beautiful 12-6 curve and his slider has a nice shape. Getting him out of Coors should make those pitches way better. The k rate over 11 means he can easily be a late inning guy.

    Baumeister=Wichrowski Horvath=Juan Baez but older Etzel= OF Carlos Rodriguez with some power Don't forgot the Eflin's contract was back loaded, so he make 18 next year even though it was a 3/40 year deal.

    I read that the Rangers were looking into Mountcastle. Does that mean Nate Lowe could be available? Both are good defensive 1B. I think Lamonte Wade would be a perfect Yeli replacement. Not alot of power but .400 obp and good defense at 1st. Rhys could DH almost full time. What would we think a price would be? 2 prospects in the 10-20 range or Peguero and a prospect.

    With Devin, Ross, Hall, maybe Bauk, and Paredes(???) added to the need for another starter we should trade a couple relievers. I am OK with sending one of Perkins, Mitchell, or Frelick somewhere but would prefer a young mlb level pitcher not someone with limited control. With Weimer and Hicklen I am OK taking the injury risk.

    What would we put as a value on Peguro? It seems like harder throwing 7/8 inning guys are going for a ton right now. Yimi Garcia just was traded for Jonathan Clase and a lower value catcher. (Clase is a near top 100 prospect in my book) Hunter Harvey got Cayden Wallace and a comp a pick (Caleb Lomavita) Peguero being 6 years younger and 4 more year of control than Yimi and 2 years younger and 3 more years of contol than Harvey. Maybe I am higher on Clase and Wallace but I wouldnt mind trying Peguero if we got a package better than the Harvey deal.

    I have been throwing Ashby into deals as a money balancer. I have been assuming teams would rather have Ashby than eat a larger chunk of money. I do agree though he has been so bad most teams would probably just eat the money and have the roster spot.

    I like Jazz but that prospered package is insane. Perkins and Boeve seems like a bit much adding Black and Knoth would be robbery. That is probably Crochet value.

    Would we have any interest in Jazz Chisholm? He would be a nice 2B for 25 and 26. He could play OF and some IF the rest of this year. I like Jazz a bunch but wouldn't pay a big package for him. The speed aspect is nice and he was a solid defensive 2b. However he does strike out more than he should. Does anyone know if Brent Rooker can play 1st. He isn't a good OF and I doubt we would pay a ton of prospects for a DH. However if there is one bat I would want it would be Rooker. Last one for now. Would a Perkins/Mitchell/Frelick for Quinn Priester (maybe more) deal make sense. It was reported they could trade pitching for a bat, with Weimer and Brewer playing well I still am not against trading an OF for a young upside pitcher. I like 3 of there top pitching prospects Chandler, Ashcraft, and Harrington as well. Is the inter-division aspect to much to overcome.

    I wouldnt mind Snell but the Giants would have to eat a bunch of money on next year's option to make it work. He is making 15 this year and 30 next with 15 being deferred to 2027. If the Giants stayed responsible for the deferred part. Maybe a bigger deal like Snell and Lamonte Wade for Rhys, Ashby, and a decdnt prospect.

    I would love Lowe or Diaz, not sure where Lowe would play and Diaz has been out since the break with personal matters. Diaz has a very nice deal through 25 with option for 26 and Lowe has a couple of decent team options. My guess is both would cost around what the Mariners gave up for Randy A..

    If Levonas doesn't sign this becomes a dreadful draft. 5 picks in the top 100 but only 3 top 100 prospects, no top 50 ranked players. Especially when the 2 1st round picks were money saving picks. Only 5 picks even ranked in the top 250. I get that our scouting team has been good finding gems but we are really missing out on top end talent without Levonas. I liked day one, but then we didn't take any big swings on day 2 and if we lose Levonas, Nunnalee is a really poor fall back signing in my opinion. Sorry to be so negative but it is really disappointing to reach on a guy in the 1st round in part to sign another better player later and then not sign that 2nd player.

    We aren't going to get much more than a comp pick in value to trade him. Why make another hole in the lineup. On top of the negative fan sentiment, Adames every day leadership is needed.

    Didn't EBJ basically have the same year last year. Injuries derailed the 1st half and he looked rough. Once he stayed healthy for a bit he was one of the best hitters in the system the last 6-8 weeks or so.

    I would probably give William Contreras a ton of games at DH, like a week straight. We really need to get him right without Yeli. I would also bring up Black as a superutility guy, I get he isn't ready defensively but he has a bat that can help somewhere. I also think this makes it easier to look at a bat like Brent Rooker. Black is a great starting piece for Rooker if need be. Black and 2 pitching prospect probably would be close.

    OK this is crazy but I am going to give it a go. We get Mike Trout (Angels pay 12 million a year) and Reid Detmers Angels get Giancarlo Stanton (yanks pay 12 million a year), Garrett Mitchell, DL Hall, Joel Payamps, and 2 better Yankees prospects Yankees get Rhys Hoskins, Aaron Ashby, Luis Rengifo Then trade Peguero and a prospect for Mountcastle. Sorry someone has to get Trout out of LA. I know it will never be us and with Trout injuries it is a bad idea. Trout to Philly for Castellanos, Rojas, and like 3 prospects honestly would be a crazy perfect move for both Philly, Trout, and probably the Angels.

    If someone doesn't sign it is easy enough to just pull them out and move everyone up 1 (I would guess). My goodness is our top 40 or so stacked.

    I like Mountcastle but having Rhys would make getting him tricky. At this point I have a hard time seeing him using his early termination for next year. I think Peguero and a prospect or 2 would be close. Since he is better in the field and has a better batting average (Basically same obp, mountcastle little better slg), it is worth considering but probably not worth it unless we trade other positions players that would open up more dh time for rhys.

On top of that 2+ years of cheap control. He has been a decent reliever the past 2 years and he hasn't really been overwork. A smart team will give up a top 30 prospect maybe even two. Think about what we have done with Hudson and Koenig, Puk has better stuff than either.

    I feel like other teams won't value Brown or Wilken very high in a trade. Those team would likely opt for players like Boeve or Baez/Arienamo who are having better season/ascending.
