    I could be convinced to jump on board a Burnes trade but I would want a mlb ready bat and rotation piece. Manzardo, Montgomery, and Basabe would be pretty good. I would definitely try for Junior Caminero ( not that he is mlb ready. Would Junior Caminero, Luke Raley, and Luis Patino work. Maybe trade for a starter like Giolito to make up for missing out. I still think the Rangers would be the best fit. They have 3 or 4 hitters of interest and a couple young pitchers. Justin Foscue, Jack Leiter, and Owen White for Burnes and a reliever. (Not real high on Ezekiel Duran but he could work). Dodgers also of course Busch, one of their 3 or 4 young starters, and a 3rd AA starter

    Very concerning that we don't have 1 .300 hitter (qualified) in the minors. I've been saying it for a while but Tyler Black needs to be in AAA. There is no one of importance blocking his move up and it would allow an easy September call up if he continues strong the play.

    Wouldn't it be easier just to make movable lower impact stages. My guess is other events would be like 90% concerts.

    Could Salvador Perez be an option? Obviously Contrearas would stay the main catcher but Perez could DH and play 1B against LHP. If the Royals ate about 1/2 of his contract which runs through 2025, I doubt he wouldn't cost a ton. I get he doesn't walk much but he hits .270 with some power and might benefit like Moose and Cain did moving to a more hitter friendly park.

    Simply yes, the 2-4 or 5 spots should be the spots that create consistency in an offense. Having guys who are super streaky in those spots creates holes and lots of 0/1 run games or games where we score only in 1 inning. Our main middle of the order hitters are not on pace for even 75 rbis (i believe) Tellez 31, Adames 29, Contreras 24. Winker 16. We are 26th in runs, in comparison to teams that are ranked in the middle of the league 14,15,16 (330-326 runs scored) we are 29-33 runs on the year. If our 2-4 or 5 hitters had 10 rbis more that puts us at league average or better. That would also put those 4 guys no where near league leaders in the mlb. Currently our rbi leader (Anderson) is tied for 78th in rbis. If we had say the 15th ranked rbi player (48 rbi) I would guess we would have at least a few more wins (2-5?). Add in 2 or 3 competent 2-5 hitters and the sky is the limit.

    Robert would be ok but I would be hesitant to trade 4 important prospects for him. He has yet to play 100 games and already has 90ks this year. He is controllable and is hitting well but there is way to much inconsistency to pay a big price. Especially with Mitchell, Weimer, Frelick, and Chourio all able to play center. I would prefer pursuing a tradition 3/4 hitter if we are going to give up a massive haul.

    Turner would be great and I agree that he would only cost a mid level prospect or two. However I doubt the Red Sox trade him for that being a couple games over .500. Trading Burnes is very unlikely but I could see trading Adames. Adames is a leader but also hitting terribly. If we could get 2 solid prospects for him and Turang comes back and plays more like the first 30-40 games it could work. Still probably a risky move but there could be addition by subtraction and improve our system. Would a package like Gasser, Guillarte, and Matt Wood be enough for Eloy Jimenez. I would prefer not trading our top 6 or 7 prospects for him but he will have some meaningful value.

    I feel like Tyler Black and Luis Lara are ready for promotions (among others). Lara almost has a 2 to 1 bb to k ratio, even though he is a young 18 I would give him a push up. Black being in the same boat, neither really has a big prospect in their way slowing them down. Who else did I miss that is on the doorsteps of a promotion?

    How far out there would it be to try and get Paul Goldschmidt? He only has a year and a half and would be exactly what we need. Like 1 percent chance? Would Ryan McMahon be of interest, I would worry he will regress outside of Coors. He can play 3 positions, has 4+ years of a respectable contract, and likely wouldn't cost an arm and leg. However he has been mostly average until this year. Any chance Jose Ramirez could become available and we could afford him? How much would Eloy Jimenez cost, as a DH he could have lots of value for us. He isn't my favorite player but could have a lower trade value based on his past couple years and injuries. Are Brent Rooker or Ryan Noda options or are they to young/cheap and controllable to the A's to be traded.

    I am past worrying about the Pirates and Cards but the Reds seem to have a huge future. With de la Cruz, Steer, McLain, Friedl, India, Benson, Stephenson, and Encarnacion-Strand on the way there is a ton of offense. They have money and prospects to fix the massive holes in their rotation around Greene and Abbott.

    Lauer's advanced stats were always worse than he base stats. I am sure a bunch of teams would have given much. However free agents like Tiajuan Walker and Jameson Taillion were pretty close to Lauer stat wise the past 2 years and got huge contracts so my guess is that there were a couple of solid deals out there if we wanted (maybe no top 100 prospects but 2 or 3 really solid pieces).

    If it was Burnes for Holiday straight up I probably would do that. It would move this org back a couple years but Holiday has been through the roof spectacular this year. I doubt the O's trade him but they have so much IF depth it could happen. I agree DL Hall hasn't been great but he has like 16 innings in the bigs. He is a lefty that throws in the upper 90s with 3 solid pitches. As a 3rd piece in a Burnes deal he would be great just on potential.

    Agreed, maybe we could trade away Willy or Urias and add somewhere else but even if this team plays average we should have an easy path to the playoffs.

    I don't think Burnes has hurt his trade value, he isn't striking out as many and his era is a half run higher. However he still should have more trade value than Luis Castillo did last year. There is no doubt Willy should have been traded but that's easy to say with hindsight. Turang has shown the signs of being a future everyday SS but has a long way to go. Woody really only needs a couple healthy starts and most of his trade value will be back before the deadline. I think not trading high on Eric Lauer is really the mistake of the offseason. Any fan who watched him knew he isn't a 3.5 era pitcher like he had been foe 2 years. My guess is that we received some nice offers for him and now he is on pace not to be tendered a contract next year.

    The Os have tons of bats that would make sense for us and some interesting 2nd tier pitching. They do have a bunch of money to spend so I doubt that is a huge deterrence. For Burnes I'd probably want Grayson Rodriguez still. Say Rodriguez, Westburg, and DL Hall or Coby Mayo Peralta for Westburg, Coby Mayo or DL Hall, and Cade Povich.

    With every passing loss trading Burnes seems more likely. Thankfully the central stinks but our offense is so bad that Burnes doesn't help much if we win 85 games and back into the playoffs. Woody could go to if he get 3 or 4 nice starts and Wily as well. At this point if we could get good upper minors or recent mlb players. Burnes to Texas makes the most sense to me. Woodruff or Burnes to Tampa, yanks, Rays, Jays, or O's could all work but Arizona would be an interesting dark horse candidate. The Dbacks have some intersecting talent and pitching needs.

    I'd pick the two guys (18 and 33)with the most potential to be middle of the order bats. We need some run producers who hit better than .230. There are a ton of 3B college bats who would fit out org. perfectly. I would go Schaunel or Taylor 18 and Jake Gelof 33. However I would be ok taking say Gelof 18, a different lower ranked college bat (45-60 range) save $ and take a high end arm that drops in the 2nd or even 3rd.

    With Winker hitting ok in AAA, I think it's time to end the Singleton experiment. Winker gets a couple weeks and if nothing improves Huira will hopefully be up to speed come end of June/early July. Also I would think Miley will take Rea's rotation spot maybe starting in a few days and just bumping a couple guys back a day. Matt Bush in maybe a week for Tyson Miller.

    Does anyone have a scouting report on Edwin Jimenez? The guy has been great but I am having a hard time figuring anything about him other than stats.

    We need a middle of the order bat bad. If it is a DH, OF, or 1B (move Rowdy to DH). At this point we have enough pitching when guys come back but a solid lefty option would be great. I am not for trading any of our top 12 or so prospects for a rental type and can't see a great fit for any other big bat. My ideas 1) CJ Cron and Brad Hand for Carlos Rodriguez (OF) and Ethan Small 2) Mark Canha for Tyrone Taylor or a prospect like Logan Henderson Neither Cron or Canha are auto mid order guys but both would have high upside and have huge effects vs. LHP. Hand gives us a better lefty option with late inning and playoff experience.

    I think hitter will adjust to him here now that there is a pattern. Hopefully he is experienced enough to adjust to the adjustments. I would send Rea down before him when Miley is back.

    I would definitely send Turang and Toro/Brousseau down before Monte. Turang needs to re calibrate and Monte has been huge. I read somewhere that Frelick should be back the 3rd week of June and Keston shortly after that. Those could be big boosts come July.

    Agree, why add on unneeded future risk. If he was pitching better I would say sure but he is far from a sure thing long term.

    I think of Frelick more as a ceiling like Johnny Damon and a floor of Podsednik. I wouldnt rush to trade him but if there was a big bat that took him I would be ok with it.

    Don't rush him, if he was hitting .300 and taking walks I would be onboard, however AA seems like the right spot for him. If he gets hot for a week or two later in the year a AAA promotion wouldn't be crazy by any means. I would guess he is maybe a candidate for a call-up around this time next year if things go well.
