  1. Not everyone here lives in Wisconsin. Ok, but a lot do.
  2. How much do you pay per month for Spectrum cable service, if you don't mind me asking? $180 plus change. Includes internet and a landline.
  3. Hiura gets a triple, then benched. He needs to be benched, but why always after a game where he does "something" productive?
  4. I have cable and cable only. I have no need for anything else. Kids are grown and gone, no need for Disney. No interest in netflix or any of those other services. Cable has all I need, and no stress for Brewer games.
  5. This very well may eventually happen, but I don't see them making a move like this a month into the season. Unless it truly comes down to a roster crunch. Sucks for a guy like Taylor, who may very well go down even though it's completely undeserved, just because he has that option. How sad would that be? Take a guy who is producing on a high level, drop him down to AAA strictly because of $ or some other BS. Brewers job is to win. If Taylor makes that job easier, you keep him up, regardless. If we have to watch Garcia and JBJ struggle for the next month just because Taylor has options, I will have lost all confidence in the Brewers as an organization. Unrelated, has Taylor ever played 1B, on any level?
  6. I have spectrum, no contract. If I want to drop it, I can drop it, no cost.
  7. Isn't complaining about your team, how it is ran, etc., part of being a fan? I never understand when people complain about fans complaining about their team. Maybe I'm just a pessimist, but I enjoy the banter with fans of my team, good and bad.
  8. I missed this thread somehow. I probably would have guessed a couple games below .500. I'd have been pleasantly wrong!
  9. People are streaming etc. because cable is so expensive, yet it seems that the costs to go the streaming route are equal to or more than cable. Buying special tvs, paying for multiple streaming services, and the stress of trying to watch Brewers games that may or may not be there on any given day just isn't worth it to me. I realize it's worth it to others, all that hassle, but all I do is turn on my tv, and there the Brewers are. No scrambling to find a service, no switching services, no buying special equipment. Just turn on the tv, like magic.
  10. As LFO noted, you're certainly entitled to your opinion. But, all evidence points the other way in this case. Would the Brewers prefer to be getting more offensive output from both of them right now? Sure. But they were likely signed with the expectation/hope that they would produce closer to their career norms, which in both of their cases, is mostly average for their positions. Their true value is derived from their excellent defensive prowess, which was almost certainly the key factor in deciding to sign them. Pretty tough to get more offensive production from Wong, guy is on fire and far better offensively than advertised. That will cool off at some point, or will it?
  11. Sticking with Spectrum, can't see going through what most here go through to watch the Brewers play ball.
  12. The shine has worn off of McKinney a bit. Let Taylor take it from here in McKinney's role. Good to see folks here starting to tune into how good Taylor has been, and possibly, how good he can be. I think we will be needing a 4th and 5th outfielder all season long due to the fragility of Yelich and Cain. Those two will start when available, and of course have scheduled days off. With Yelich, Cain, Taylor, JBJ and Garcia, there will probably be enough at bats to go around. All I ask is that the best 3 are played on a regular basis, and at this time, Taylor is one of them. He shouldn't be on the bench another game that Yelich and Cain are out. That should be a given. See what he can do with extended playing time and go from there.
  13. Which means nothing as far as Tyrone Taylor is concerned. Taylor needs to play. It's obvious to me, it's obvious to most. Hopefully it is becoming obvious to Counsell. If he cools off, sure, sit him down, but all he has done so far is hit! Play him!
  14. Because that's literally how the team was designed to operate this year. If that is truly the case, what happens when our pitching hits a slump, which is surely going to happen? I don't buy "this team is built for defense" theory completely. Signing guys who can only play defense is never a good idea. I have to believe they expected JBJ and Wong to hit a little bit better than most here are expecting. Wong has done his part, he can't keep up this pace, but if he can add some kind of consistent offense to his defense, we are in good shape. JBJ just has to step up his offense or the defense only theory will sink us.
  15. They were spot on, at least so far. Very similar to Cain glove-wise, but closer to Keon Broxton bat-wise. He's had a few big moments with the bat, but the consistency isn't there yet. I certainly don't expect the .814 OPS he put up for the Red Sox last year, but if he could get it into the mid to high .700s, while continuing to play his upper end defense, I'd be satisfied. Expecting consistency is going to be a stretch. He has never been consistent offensively.
  16. See I'm not really sure that something like 12-14M on JBJ then was necessarily a great allocation of resources given our OF situation (obviously thin at the moment, but not when healthy) I'm curious as to whether that money was truly "available" or if some guys are Mark A guys that he is willing to go over his set budget for. In other words perhaps if they didn't get JBJ that didn't necessarily mean that Stearns and Arnold had another 12-14M to spend how they saw fit. I think Attanasio got a little case of happy feet after Turner spurned him to re-sign with the Dodgers. He had already made the decision that he wanted to make a splash, but the Turner thing drug on so long that many of the other logical FA fits had already found homes. Bradley was really the last "big" name left out there, and if you squint hard enough, you can see a fit with his skillset and LH bat. It's unfortunate that his bat hasn't come alive yet, which is causing fans to question the deal. I have a couple of Sox fans that told me as soon as we got him that his bat will absolutely drive you crazy as a fan. Hot streaks, and severe cold streaks. They told me his glove will amaze you, but his bat will frustrate you to no end.
  17. Snark? The general concept of "snark" is everyplace, even the mods take part. lol If I am acting differently than anyone else on this board, I apologize. I'll pull back.
  18. What context was given to me? That Taylor has very few ABs? lol, ok then.
  19. You are ok with Haines and his track record then? I understand you are the board cheerleader, and nothing and no one should be criticized, but c'mon dude.
  20. Nowhere did I say to cut Garcia. Not looking to make any rash decisions. Just want him on the bench where he deserves to be. The goal is to win games, correct? Play the better players, regardless of $. Telling me how many ABs Taylor has doesn't matter. He is outplaying Garcia, and it's time he gets his due. If Garcia earns his playing time back, great, but there shouldn't be playing time based on contracts, or what his OPS was 8 or 9 days ago when we have a guy on the bench that deserves a shot.
  21. LOL no, not facts. The .797 was referring to what Garcia's OPS was 8 days ago. You are arguing a completely different point than what the original poster introduced. Actually, I'm not. Original poster wanted to know what is going on with Garcia. Is he hurt? I'm arguing that he just isn't very good, and his time with the Brewers hasn't been very good, so it's not really a surprise what we are seeing from him. You can't cherry pick his .797 and say that is the real Garcia, when he is sitting at .619 for the season. He is a below average guy that we feel the need to play, even though we have Taylor, who is outplaying him, sitting the bench.
  22. Let him go to AAA and try to iron out his issues. There is no rush, or needed timetable. Let him be there until he is ready to come back up. Trading him now, at the lowest possible value just wouldn't be wise.
  23. How is a .797 OPS not good? Saying he hasn't been good this year is kind of a fallacy. Before falling into this recent horrible slump, Garcia's results this season were perfectly fine. The .797 was back in '19. He was .659 last year and is at .619 this year. Facts. Simply put, he is not a good player. Average at best, and that is giving him a long leash. His time as a Brewer has been very vanilla. You can paint a rosy picture of everything Brewers, but that doesn't make it true. Some things are just what they are, and any spin you want to put on it doesn't change the facts. Garcia is not very good, easily replaceable, and we have at least one guy on our roster that deserves his spot in the daily line-up, at least for now.
  24. No doubt, Keston will lead the K klub with 3. Tack on 2 more for Houser + 5 for every else... 10 I'll take the over and say 12
