  1. Lockridge just snuck a well hit grounder inside the 3B line all the way into the Sounds bullpen for a one out double in the bottom of the 3rd. Still a 2-2 game.
  2. Letson records his first K on an inside dipping slider. One down. The runner swipes 2B in the process. Man on 2nd. One down. Bottom of 1st.
  3. 2 more K's for Cornielle. That's the minimum in two consecutive frames. Pitch count very manageable. Settling in quite nicely! Slider working really really well early now that he's back on top of things.
  4. 4-0 Shuckers after a weak Wilken groundout to 3B scored Made, Boeve k'd swinging (and once again looked uncomfortable in doing so) and Spain then pokes an 0-2 single into left field. Well hit pro hit there. Two come across.
  5. Eduardo Garcia will take his base at 1B and back fill at SS presumably. Man, this is ridiculous.
  6. Yup. That's his dominant right hand as well. He is pulled from the game. Good grief. Unbelievable.
  7. Well shoot. Pratt just took a high heater up and in off his hand. He is in obvious grimacing pain. Come on now.
  8. Now a wild pick-off throw back to 1B and Made is standing on 3B. Speed kills.
  9. Made beats out a chopper to SS in back of the 2B bag for another hit. Speed kills. 1-0 Shuckers.
  10. Lara leads off with a first pitch shallow single to CF. He then swipes 2B and the throw goes into CF so he takes 3rd.
  11. Fantastic. That's a minimum batters inning. I believe that was less than 10 pitches as well. Fabulous for Cornielle.
  12. Heck of a 4-6-3 DP by Seigler to Murray to Black who adeptly digs Murray's intentional one hop throw. That was not an easy play. Credit to the defense on that one.
  13. Seigler grounds out a wet turd dribbler to the mound on the first pitch. That's that for that inning. Yes, that's that and that's that.
  14. Black rips one to the corner. Urias scores. Quero is sent and he is thrown out with relative ease - tho kudos to the catcher for that grab on a tricky throw home. LOL. He was huffing down that line. 2-2 game. Black does take 3rd on the throw home. Two down.
  15. Who other than Luis Urias again?!? He works a count to 2-2 and rips an RBI single. His 8th RBI in six games as a Sound. Cameron had led off with a BB and SB to get into scoring position.
  16. At 31 pitches, Cornielle gets his third consecutive K swinging on a very pretty low inside off-speed pitch. Really nice recovery. 32 total pitches tho in the first frame.
  17. Back to back punchouts now for Cornielle as he looks to strand runners at the corners. He can escape with only the one run charged to his ledger (the first crosses via the Urias error).
  18. Cornielle has already been rescued in the dirt twice by Quero. He is as wild as he's ever been. Now he hangs a very hittable 2-2 pitch to McCabe and it's quickly 2-0 Stripers. Not a good inning for the Sounds. Error, walk, walk, 2-run single up the middle.
  19. 7 straight balls. High and outside again. He is down 3-0 and risking loading the bases. Yup. 8 straight balls. Consecutive walks. Bases juiced. Nobody out. This has been his ongoing issue at pretty much every level.
  20. Cornielle's next pitch is a slider low and in and in the dirt. That's 5 straight balls after the error. Now six straight balls with a high outside heater.
  21. Not a friendly start for RHP Alexander Cornielle and his defensive unit. He induces a routine 0-2 grounder to 3B Luis Urias who has plenty of time but throws it short and, tell me if you've heard this before, 1B Tyler Black couldn't snare it on the bounce. This was a very tough play for Black so I certainly don't begrudge his inability to collect the vicious hop. Error charge to Luis. Cornielle then walks the next batter on four pitches. Sigh.
  22. This is more like it. When Javik said 385 on the broadcast I was like "That was half way up the grass in straightaway CF." Turns out my thoughts were accurate:
  23. I thought for shore, with your recent GOAT run of Game Thread zingers, we were in for a 'Lets(on) Get it On'. Alas, we can't have it all (as this current Brewers Texas roadtrip is certainly reminding us).
  24. Love the fact Jimenez is likely healthy enough to get live game action. That's huge for him. Fowler definitely flashed upside with Carolina. Flores and Broca have had really solid moments throughout their seasons but they both need to continue fine tuning their precision and mix. Brocas likely has the higher upside here but don't sleep on Flores' savvy. Wichrowski I absolutely want to see him go the route of the RHP Will Childers four-seamer evolution we saw in the AFL. Gotta see it. As he currently stands, and I wrote about it in last night's report, it is a net negative pitch despite his velocity. These are all good AFL candidates on the pitching side.
  25. They were absolutely overmatched through 4.0 IP. You are not wrong. The change-up had them all sorts of off kilter. Then, well, then a Lara lead-off single and they never looked back.
