  1. Well, that's one way of looking at it. And, I don't disagree with you: Campbell is an incredibly important piece no doubt and is already #1 at his position on the depth chart and an All-Pro to boot. But, if we are looking at cap ramifications and why they are currently incapable of meeting Rasul's price I would think we should first look in the directions of Randall Cobb, Mason Crosby, and Marcedes. At least that is where I would look. All this being said, it's hard to know given we don't know what he is seeking and we don't know what his Market is. Either way, I hope it proves untrue as he is just a very very likable Packer and played some amazing ball in the Green n Gold.
  2. More of the above via Bill Huber at SI here Sighs. I truly love and loved Rasul Douglas' story. AND, I really really hope he has a chance to vie for CB3. He was so huge for the Pack last year. Can spot start whenever needed. He's just an impactful player.
  3. It is hard to fathom how absolutely dialed Jevon Carter has been since the signing. He looks completely re-inspired. This is a player you could seamlessly slip into the starting line-up and maximize Grayson's offense in the 2nd unit. I was hoping we'd get good Jevon Carter but we are currently getting the best version we've ever seen from him. Amazing. Bro-Lo changes everything. Praying he stays healthy.
  4. Awesome post. Holy heck did Rosario have a post-season run eh? That was fun to watch.
  5. Welp, re-upping Box of Burgers and grabbing an aged veteran Platoon bat for LHP is about the Brewers start to the off-season I envisioned. Hopefully, we have some more coming. McCutcheon is a guy that seems to always hit the Brewers. For that reason, alone, I am mildly content I don't have to watch him hit clutch against the Crew. Always seemed like a good teammate and a good guy to boot. Hope he has a nice season.
  6. Perhaps we're looking for a player to play the JBJ role?
  7. This is indeed appears to be true.
  8. Yeah, I think all-in-all I am not a fan of this move. Billy has been awesome as a GBP after he found his footing. He can play 3 spots on the OL well and has been largely available. BUT, this being said, if there is anything the Packers are extremely competent at, it's finding OL replacements and depth from anywhere. It's uncanny. AND, they have a lot of higher priority in the wings and are still trying to get under the Cap. A tip of the cap to Billy. He was a good Packer and his deal proved to be a tremendous value. Curious to see where he signs next.
  9. It would most definitely appear so.
  10. Hey Seth, nice to hear from you. I actually lived in the Twin Schitties for 12 years. All up and down Minneapolis and St. Paul. I owned a house across form St. Paul up past the bluffs of Ohio St. and George. And, I finally sold it the year before COVID began. Even made some money on the closing. Wild wild world. Love the Boundary Waters with a passion. The lands of Northern Wisconsin and Northern Minnesota - without borders - are a seamless and wonderful landscape...filled with beauty for mile after mile. I consider both Wisconsin and Minnesota my original homes - I grew up for 18 years in Wisconsin, spent formative years in Minnesota...and then returned to farm my very first season in the Driftless region of SW Wisconsin which is, once again, seamless across border into the same types of lands from Red Wing and South thereof in Minnesottttta. 1.) Where are you from? I'm originally from a suburb West of Milwaukee, WI - Brookfield - but haven't been back there since I left high school and haven't lived in a suburb since. I'm now a man of the country and my home is on 70 acres of a mountain valley NE of Spokane, Washington on the Washington/Idaho border. 2.) Age Range? I'm mid 40's 3.) How long have you been frequenting BrewersFan.net? I had been lurking and reading for years. But, I really just joined sometime last year. 4.) Highest level of baseball/softball played? I played traveling baseball into my middle high school years for, what was then, Cooper in Waukesha, WI. I played some in high school but I was a 3 sport athlete and ultimately went to DI college as a gk for soccer. My sports focus shifted once I started getting offers in my early years of high school. 5.) Favorite Brewers Player, and favorite under-appreciated Brewers player, and if you want, favorite current Brewers player? As a kid, I was obsessed with Robin Yount. I wrote him a letter and was interviewed on TV when it was rumored he might leave. He is a Brewers legend and, due to my childhood, he will always hold a place in my heart. Underappreciated? I have to go ol Mark Loretta. He was just such an underappreciated player with an old man's game that was a joy to watch. My current favorite Brewers player is Wily Adames. When he is healthy and clicking he is a true joy to watch. 6.) Favorite Twitter follows? I don't do the Social Medias, really. 7.) Other interests outside of baseball. Plants, forestry, land stewardship, farming, self-sufficiency, mead/cider/brewing, Bucks and Packers. I also, oddly, dabble in crytpocurrency quite a bit which is very strange for my other interests. 8.) Favorite part of BrewerFan.net... The broad spectrum of knowledge about Brewers and baseball and the incredible Minor League coverage. I learn SO much about the Minor League system here with all @damuelle and @Mass Haas do. It is worth its weight in baseball gold.
  11. Indeed we can.
  12. Twinkies have to have something bigger cooking on the stove, no? At face value, otherwise, these moves don't really make all that much sense.
  13. Love to see a Box of Burgers. Just a solid all around reliever. He was absolutely crucial in various roles last year. I approve of this signing.
  14. That is awesome. Happy early birthday to your mom. Cups of nostalgia for those Milwaukee Braves days! I can remember, to this day, the feelings I had as a 9-10 yo when I discovered the boxes of my Dad's baseball cards in my then recently deceased Grandma's attic. Loads and loads of Braves cards. It was such a surreal moment as a kid and led me on a vast historical dive into the history of the Brew Crew.
  15. What a miraculous story and next chapter for Tyler Gillies. Thanks for sharing. Here's hoping he keeps that health going and he has a great season.
  16. I will not 'slam' you. BUT, I may tickle you. Kesty boy is lacing them up as we speak. Hitting the cages.
  17. I really hope Nellie jumps in the Brew Crew Hot Tub. The water shall overfloweth.
  18. Fan Speak now has Ross Uglem's RAS tilted/Packers focused Big Board for ye Mock Draft enthusiasts.
  19. I've been meaning to ask this but keep forgetting: has anyone seen data on how many players would have been affected by this five promotion rule last season? While teams certainly shuffle players back and forth with too much regularity, five is also a really high number. I haven't seen any amalgamated data, no. BUT, even with an elevated cap of 5 options, for a team like the Brewers who love bullpen games throughout the season and Starters on restricted innings counts it's going to impact their approach more so than most other teams.
  20. (1) 9 Inning Double Headers (2) NO Extra Innings Ghost Runners - Standard and historical Extras rules (3) I haven't seen anything regarding the 3 batter minimum being retracted
  21. It's probably on the bubble, but DRIVE MY CAR is playing at the Oriental and it's excellent. (Janus is distributing it, so it's likely to end up on Criterion ultimately.) LICORICE PIZZA is also still in theaters. As are WEST SIDE STORY and HOUSE OF GUCCI, although I can't imagine for too much longer. BELFAST is available for VOD rental, albeit at $19.99 I'm holding out for a bit. DUNE is my favorite blockbuster of the year. It's widely available for rent although it will probably be back on HBO Max before the Oscars. Same with KING RICHARD. CODA is on Apple+, although I think it's a long shot. Be aware that THE LOST DAUGHTER is not a thriller. And Olivia Colman/Jessie Buckley do things that makes the character unlikable even if you understand why. BEING THE RICARDOS, which I don't think works despite some valiant efforts, is on PRIME. I think AMC still does the Best Picture marathon thing. I absolutely loved DUNE. Denis is one of my favorite Big Picture Directors in recent memory. The way he paces his films and the stunning shots couple with understated scores are all just super tastefully done. I thought he absolutely nailed BLADERUNNER: 2049 as well. Very excited for Dune II in 2023.
  22. I don't think you're being a downer whatsoever. It's the Brewers, that's being very realistic. I will be curious, however, to see if they are involved in any trades considering the massive amount of time to discuss and pre-arrange or consider the playing field.
  23. They were a lock before. So still a lock now. The conference tournament would have only helped their seeding nothing more. They are probably an 8 seed at best right now and maybe a 10 at the lowest. Thanks. Sure seems like Creighton had their number this year. They just couldn't flip the script there.
  24. It's time turn on the Jets. Hot Tub is officially Bubbling. The Hot Tub will officially be 'uncovered' and ready for bodies at 16:00 PST.
  25. So, is Marquette still considered an NCAA tourney lock? OR, are they now trending NIT? Thoughts from any of ye Marquette faithful would be appreciated. I thought Indiana winning today might muddy that picture but, truthfully, I've only peripherally been paying attention to the NCAA this season.
