  1. I would rather have CRod not take lumps in MLB and let others be the sacrificial lambs. Carlos is more of a prospect that is struggling with his 5.27ERA and 1.293WHIP in AAA. Truthfully, I feel there are not correct answers here (unless AAshby is back to form) but rather than trotting TMyers out there again and again, I would like to see what they have in the likes of Blalock and Stallings before rushing a real prospect that is not doing well.
  2. Blalock first please...
  3. If we are trading relievers it will be Abner Uribe based on his attitude or lack of changing his attitude in AAA. Pick up Tommy Pham (.991 lifetime OPS in Miller Park/AFF) from CWS for Seminaris and maybe another Rule 5 guy that we will not be keeping (Yeager??). This will give you time on Weimer and GMitchell and give you options on how to use/sit JChurio moving forward. There will be NO trading Low-A starters at all!!!
  4. I think an MLB perk is free health care for life so he gets that at least.
  5. Opening Day will not need 6 starters as there are too many days off that can skip a starter and keep those already up on a schedule so OD Rotation will be these 5: Freddy, WMiley, Junis, Rea, Ross At the lab/extended ST Ashby (to get the shoulder right), DLHall (to get his plane and arm slot in line with Brewer expectations), Gasser (to slow his clock), Misi (to work on that delivery) Dream September rotation where everyone maxes out their potential Freddy, Ashby, DLHall, Misi, Gasser, and CRod A nice BP if chips do not land well DLHall, Payamps, Misi, AUribe, and a mix of Hoby, McGill, Peguro, TClarke, Thyago Vieira, Bryse, Hudson, Shane Smith with Devin Williams being traded.
  6. From our farm system and roster, what would have been a equally weighted haul on what Padres received/Yankees offered to get Soto and Grisham?? Would it have been worth it to offer it and get the two former Padres? (apologies if this is the wrong sub-forum to query this)
  7. Might be older due to Mormon mission not necessarily repeating Low A or the like...
  8. The more I think about this the more I like it. Work with BAL from a position of strength. Devin Williams/ESmall/TyTaylor/pieces if needed for----> Mayo/Povich/CMcDermott/pieces if needed TBlack up on opening day and PHenry-esque backup (or Caratini or Quero or free agent to be the other catcher) ---Burnes, Peralta, AAshby, Houser, Gasser to start with CRod, CMcDermtt, Povich, Misi waiting in the wings (WMiley, Rea, JTeheran could be picked up again) ---Payamps, AUribe, Peguro, Hoby, McGill, Thyago and others like Blalock, McKendry, Junk, Yeager, or the like. ---Canha (for a year till Wilken is ready), Monty, Turang, Adames, TBlack, Contreras, another catcher, Owen Miller (till Mayo is ready) ---Yelich, Sal, GMitchell, Wiemer, and BPerkins (till JChurio is ready) Pick up a Kris Bryant-type in July as the payroll will be lower with the kids coming up. This scenario is a lot closer to who we are than bigger deals.
  9. I am not saying no to this but I would like to see Churio and Povich (lhp) come back from BAL with McDermott and Mayo. Mayo, Wilken, Black, Turang, Monty, Quero and the freshmen in the OF means that July could be a time to pick up a CC Sabathia type impact ace if we are doing well.
  10. Clayton Andrews and Matthew Wood for Justin Turner (Wood is good but Turner will get calls as we move into the trading season. Unless Turner did something wrong since I last checked, he looks strong for a rental at 1B. MWood will be replaced by Satchel and Clayton throws lefty) Hedbert Perez, Daniel Guilarte and Will Rudy for Josh Hader (Daniel Guilarte would sting but if they sign the young SSs in the 2023 draft then this would sting less. Another rental and while I hope that Rudy does not turn into Reese Olsen in DET; you have to give to get. This would let Justin Wilson and AAshby take their time and move some of the LHP RP wear and tear off of Hoby. Also...could you imagine the clubhouse when it is announced. Matt Arnold the hero.) Lastly we pick up a RF that has years of control (Arby eligible in 2024 and FA in 2026) and is hitting .835OPS now with a .361/.411/.630/1.041 split vs LHP but he is going to be costly. ESmall, LLara, and RobMoore for....Lane Thomas Feel free to add this this from our side to also pick up Jeimer Candelario
  11. Might be a time to go look at his stats now that the balls are not tacked(?). Apparently, he is destroying things in AA and he is still super young with bat speed that cannot be taught.
  12. Outside of Lara, no Mudcat OF should be making travel plans. This might be the way. Briceno and 19-20 year old holdovers in LCastillo, Perez, and HMendez will probably be manning the OF with Avina and Fernandez.
  13. Adamczewski started at second base the past two seasons. He hit .488 with four homers and 36 RBIs last year and .470 with 23 RBIs in his high school debut after his freshman season was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 6-foot Adamczewski has gained weight throughout his career. He went from 145 pounds as a freshman to 195 this season.
  14. So are we expecting every DSL and AFL position player to be in Carolina next year because we have not exactly loaded up on Cs, 2Bs and OFs in this draft.
  15. After a strong junior campaign, Letson attended more camps and workouts. It was then that he began receiving attention from some Major League teams, including the Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants. https://www.newsandtribune.com/sports/baseball-floyds-letson-expected-to-be-selected-in-mlb-draft/article_d9fa079c-1d16-11ee-90a9-cf1b96afca51.html
  16. Take away the May 18th debacle vs Lamar and Morris Austin did pretty well (8.2IP 7H 2ER 4BB and 12K) but small sample size and most likely drafted to take less than slot.
  17. In a news article it mentioned that it was his dream to get drafted. https://www.niagara-gazette.com/sports/ryan-birchard-s-nccc-success-leads-to-choice-between-d-i-scholarship-or-mlb-draft/article_46546fbe-fc14-11ed-8924-a3c7eba33548.html Also this... https://ncccathletics.com/sports/bsb/2022-23/players/ryanbirchardwwvq Touched 98 but lived in 93-95...two other offerings and was part of a 5 inning no-hitter vs SUNY-A
  18. https://fgcuathletics.com/sports/baseball/roster/jackson-woodward/9217 This shows that he ran into some trouble later in the year...dead arm?
  19. Jakson Reetz is a 26 year old catcher that had success at Biloxi because he was a year and a half older than his mates. Maybe he has put it all together; maybe is a journeyman in the making...but he is not a prospect on the level of Turang, Quero, Mitchell, and Kelly.
