  1. Given that betting on baseball is the one unforgivable sin in baseball, I expect that MLB will take a very close and fair look at this. The only way Ohtani should be fully cleared is if he really did know nothing about his interpreter and close friend gambling. It might be a little gray as isn't Ohtani gambling, but If they find something along the lines of the interpreter telling Ohtani something like I've got 10K riding on you this game, there should be mulit-year suspension if not a lifetime ban. If Ohtani said he'd cover him if they lost, then it should be a lifetime ban, no question.
  2. The parking change sounds like a huge improvement. Last year you could get to within site of the stadium an hour before the game and not make it in until the 3rd inning due to the traffic jams.
  3. He's pointing out the error in the article that says the 1919 White Sox won the series.
  4. 20 game winners are so rare these days that the last time there were 4 of them in the same season in all of MLB was 2012.
  5. He's worth 7M easily. See if he'll go for 5/35. CC gets to reset the market an have a long contract, and the Brewers get stability, plus in 5 years the contract may not seem so large.
  6. Just tell them he was taken in a spaceship along with Elvis. Maybe then they will go away.
  7. 4 grand slams and the Marlins are right in this game.
  8. There isn't a better game day manager in baseball. The Brewers need to do whatever is necessary to keep him.
  9. A 17yo with a fastball that sits 92-96 and touches 98 only gets a 55 grade? I must be getting old. He already looks like he has decent control of that wicked curve. I just hope his arm stays healthy. He looks like a good one.
  10. Ahead of his 6 to 8 week timeline... so that means 10 or 12 weeks.
  11. Happens to all hitters from time to time. The radio announcer (forget which one) mentioned that the pitch had a lot of run on it. Tough to lay off when you are really expecting him to throw a strike there. CC rolled the dice and didn't win on that one. Fortunately, Brice and Rowdy came through.
  12. Two clutch two-out singles to take the lead and get some big insurance. This is not the Brewers I'm used to. I like it.
  13. When I saw these uniforms on the Gameday highlights, my first thought was that SD deserves to get pounded for wearing them. Not sure if I'm disappointed that I can't watch the game, or happy that I'm not spending 2.5+ hours looking at those things.
  14. I can understand this. I would have been similar, but baseball changes made me give up the secondary teams. My family moved to Illinois in the 80's and I started liking the Cubs because they were always on, they annoyed White Sox fans and were the natural rivals to the despicable Cardinals. But now that the are in the same division as the Brewers, they have to lose. I liked the Padres when I lived in Sandy Eggo in the 90's, but giving big money to Machado means they deserve a billy goat level curse.
  15. First players started being born after me, then after I graduated. Now they are being born after one of my kids was born. Just didn't need that reminder of how old I'm getting.
  16. I really like the influx of speed in this team. The bigger bases, no radical shifting and limited throws to first really make fast players more valuable on offense. Plus the no shift rules make having players with good range more important on defense. The front office was really ready for the changes.
  17. Uke doesn't give you a Kodachrome picture of the game, instead he paints a Monet or Van Gogh picture of the game. Details get lost, but the overall image is is great. His stories are more Dahli, though.
  18. It's not that his call was different than normal, it was just that one is good, two is even better, and three in a row is party on.
  19. I thought I'd miss not having cable and seeing the Brewers games, but listening to Uke with three straight home run calls, is sooo good.
  20. That makes me so sad I could cry... oh wait, those are tears of laughter and joy.
  21. You mean when the Brewers had 3 starters injured batting/base-running in a season?
