  1. I graduated with a Pol Sci and Public Admin double major, but I only switched to that from the business school once I knew I was headed for law school. Pol Sci is certainly NOT a pre req for law school. So if you are not interested in it I would suggest finding something you are interested in. Law schools accept people from any academic background. As someone said above, all they care about are your grades and LSAT score.
  2. Keith Law speculates that 2 MLB ready players and 2 AA prospects will be needed to get Johnson. Melvin should be working this one hard.
  3. The Badgers coming out of the Tourney with wins over a ranked ACC team and a historically good Pac-10 team is a great resume booster. I hope they can keep it up and surprise people this year.
  4. C = Carlos Ruiz 1b - Justin Morneau 2b - Jose Lopez SS - Stephen Drew 3b - Chone Figgins LF - David Dejesus CF - Nate McClouth RF - Hunter Pence SP - James Shields SP - Randy Wolf SP - Matt Garza SP - Nick Blackburn SP - Paul Maholm Just a guess. Went with 5 middle of the road starters rather than an average SP1, Sp2, etc.
  5. Maybe he can be the next Jamie Moyer and we can get a good 8-10 years out of him.
  6. Lowe would be a disaster in any infield that had Fielder, Weeks and potentially Gamel. in it. Escobar can only get to so many balls.
  7. 3 way trades in baseball are probably more common than you think. The Red Sox did the Manny deal with the Pirates and Dodgers (Pirates got Andy Laroche and Brandon Moss and others) also the Sox dealt Nomar in a 3 way with Montreal and the Cubs. The Brewers did one some years ago with the Rockies (Jamey Wright, Henry Blanco) and A's (Jimmy Haynes) all coming over in the same deal.
  8. Mat Gamel isnt bringing back a "frontline" guy. He is an above average bat with below average defense. That is worth about 2 years of some one Jackson's ability. It isnt enough to get a Tommy Hanson or David Price or Matt Cain, someone who is and frontline guy. And I do not think the rumor is that the mystery third team gets both Jackson and Morrow. That wouldnt make sense.
  9. Bob Nghtengale tweets the speculation. My Speculation: Jack Z. might want someone from the Brewers system that he drafted (Gamel?) the Tigers might want to replace Jackson with Morrow and the Brewers get Jackson. That might be even. Something to keep an eye on.
  10. Yeah man, either those quotes in the article are true and he is at least contemplating, or the writer made them up and this is all bogus. All we are looking for is confirmation if Brent's personal quotes are true.
  11. What is the story on this Jennings? Is he the real deal? What is his potential, what are basketball people saying about him so far? Who does compare to?
  12. I wont miss Looper, but the move only makes sense if the money is invested in a pitcher that is BETTER than Looper, so that rules out Davis and/or Washburn in my mind.
  13. I think you could pay more than 5 million a year for Zito. He only really had one atrocious year. Heck last year he was 4.00 ERA pitcher. I dont know how that would translate into Miller Park, but I think you could get away with paying 7-8 million a year for him be doing alright.
  14. Mind=blown. Does that mean that Gamel is worthless or the starter next year?
  15. RyDogg, you are failing to take into account municipal ordinance violations of Possession of THC. I'm aware of police departments that charge all possession of THC offenses as ordinance violations and the DA's office never sees them. That also includes repeat offenders. I know cops/sheriff deputies, that actually will dispose of the pot on the side of the road and not even write you a municipal ticket for it. However, not all people are treated equally (surprise, surprise). There are some disturbing trends as to who gets a ticket (young UW-Oshkosh co-ed?) and who gets charged with a misdemeanor, then a felony. It isnt automatic that one ever gets a ticket for THC.
  16. Hammer, I got a Logitech for Xmas about 2-3 years ago and I have since disbanded my stereo system. I want to say it was in the $100-$125 dollar range and my wife and I have the same feelings about sound as you. I dont use anything else to play music in my house. Its great.
  17. People. please understand that the Brewers were NOT going to get a pitcher worth a hill of beans for JJ Hardy. There isnt a market for a guy who potentially could be non-tendered. The ONLY thing that could be done is to run him out there for us next year and hope he isnt as bad as he was this year. He just didnt have the value we all think he did. The Brewers got the CF version of Alcides Escobar, at least defensively, for him, and if Gomez and figure out how to get on base at even a .320 clip he will be alright. Lets not start writing Melvin's obit just yet. It is a long offseason.
  18. I just had a client sentenced to 30 days jail for a third offense OWI and 20 days were stayed pending him finishing some classes. So 10 days jail for a third, plus "good time" and the guy is looking at a week in jail, with huber privileges.
  19. I could see a Twins fan saying that about Hardy, except he actually was in the minors last year. Lets not forget, we didnt trade Cal Ripken, Jr. here.
  20. Let me get this straight, get caught with pot twice, and you get thrown in prison? Holy Crap! What is this, a muslim country or something? 2 times caught possessing pot = Class I Felony, Max sentence = 1.5 years in prison, 2 years parole. 2 times drunk driving = Misdemeanor, most likely 5 days jail, at the most, unless you hit someone. Reality is that with 2 pot convictions you would get a probation sentence, but prison is knocking on the door. At least in my county.
  21. I guess this saves 15 million if it means that Cameron isnt back next year. That has to be worth something.
  22. If pot were legal I would lose half of my criminal defense clients and have to go into something really scary, like divorce and child custody. If got caught one more time in Wisconsin he would be looking at prison time and a felony. No wonder we have 3x more people in prison than Minnesota does.
  23. Its probably about as prevalent as cigarette smoking. Im not losing any sleep either.
  24. Oh goodness, really? When? I need to rake my leaves ASAP.
  25. What is the ideal progression for bringing along a starting pitcher, innings pitched-wise? In the minor leagues a lot of times guys have 100 innings or less over the course of a year. If a guy gets up to 125 innings or like Buchholz has 136, what is an "acceptable" progression to an every 5th day 200+ IP starter?
