  1. There is actually one big reason. Peavy has a no trade clause that includes the Brewers. We could offer Braun and Gallardo and the Padres couldnt make the deal because Peavy would no approve it.
  2. Yeah, we got pounded up her in Oshkosh...or so that is what it looks like out my window this morning. School is closed and the wind is really whipping. I am hoping if I put off shoveling until after 8 a.m that some kind soul will come through my sidewalk with a snowblower. I wouldnt even mind shoveling, but it looks really windy and nasty out there.
  3. The only reason Corey Hart was an All Star last year was because he had a great run at the end of may and into june. Otherwise he was average. Kelly Johnson bats LH and plays a harder position and has a higher career OPS+, most all of which comes in the OBP.
  4. What do you teach, by chance.
  5. The difference is that the Brewers might want CC to opt out, no matter what, as he is likely to be very, very good fir the first 2-3 years of his contract, and less so the last 2-3 years. Essentially, it would be like the BRewers getting CC for a 3 year, 60 million dollar deal and then some other team paying him probably something close to 25 million while he gets into his late 30s. It is a brilliant move if the Brewers offer it.
  6. Sounds like he needs a new Johnson Rod. Oh well. My guess would have been fuel injector/fuel pump.
  7. Judging by the girth in that photo I would guess that they are mostly rolling these days. By the way, 12-14 inches in Oshkosh? And no, that isnt a Visanthe Shiancoe reference...Im talking snow.
  8. This is exactly the image that popped into my head when I read a mention of ThunderSnow, ftj. Thanks for posting it again. I bet these guys rocked hard. But also, a quick google search turns up that in fact there is a rock band called Thundersnow that is out of Madison, WI (your backyard). Here is their my space page. My favorite part of their myspace page is the part where they talk about their sound. Member Since 2/13/2008 Band Members John "the Yeti" Hitchcock (guitar) Joe "thunder muffs" Leroux (drums) Drew "mr.mittens" Iwaniw (guitar) Influences The Beatles Sounds Like The ice cracking under your feet right before you die a cold and lonely death. Record Label unsigned Type of Label Major ...that sounds about right.

  10. Hardees is pretty much it for me. They have the best selection with new burger variations on the menu all the time, Roast Beef, Ham and Cheese, fries, curly fries, chicken...their breakfast menu is by far the best as well.
  11. I know you didnt mean that. Fast food is fast food for a reason. Sometimes you need to go there because a time crunch dictates it so. Even if that is once a month, with all of the families out there, it adds up to a multimillion dollar industry, so it is easy to see why mcdonalds does a good job. Me personally, I hate it. I thnk their menu is about the worst I have seen from any fast food burger chain. Way too conservative, it all is pretty much a dressed up hamburger or a dressed up piece of chicken. For my money, I prefer Hardees.
  12. I liked rotoworlds take on the Casey Blake sweepstakes. Something along the lines of whomever wins will regret it almost immediately.
  13. I think before people start dropping the 'lazy parents' line they need to actually have to have kids older than 2 and work a full time job and NOT occaisionally stop at McDonalds. Ive taken my kids there on an off day (ages 2 1/2 and 4 1/2) because it is freezing cold outside and they are going stir crazy, so we go get a hamburger and they can blow off some steam at the playground inside. It isnt like a cheeseburger, some apple slices and a glass of 2% Milk is going to kill them.
  14. I figured it was. Elbow? Shoulder?
  15. Moose was one of my favorite players when I was a lad. I took a look at his baseball-reference.com page. And I see that after the Brewers traded him to Oakland that he had two short years with Oakland he he was done. Just wondering if anyone who is a bit older who remembers those days, remembers how or why his career ended at 31. Thanks.
  16. Brian Sabean is 31 flavors of stupid.
  17. I dont know, I also heard the Giants are considering trading for Fernando Tatis for Sanchez. /blue font.
  18. Besides, the Ham Fighters are really lacking in middle infielders, I think if we sent them maybe Irribarren and someone like Ozzie Chavez they might listen. Luis Pena to seal the deal.
  19. Throw in Bill Hill and I think it would be a done deal.
  20. I dont really see how the park can affect much outside of slugging. Sure, some balls that might have been HRs are now doubles, or even outs, but the larger ballpark might also lead to more bloop singles. (Colorado being the difference, as it is more a function of the air than the park). Greene might have JJ Hardy power, but if he hits .250 he will be lucky to have an OBP over .300 and that is the part of his game that is the stinkiest.
  21. All i can say about Greene is that even when he has been good he has been pretty bad. Yeah, he hit a lot of HRs in 2007, but a .291 OBP isnt going to win you many games.
