  1. Lol. If the Braves win, the game tomorrow is at 2 PM Padres better hold onto this three run lead.
  2. That does not mean it's not comparable to the current situation.... I could see the no fans thing mattering for a road team that loses its first game, but we're at home. Anyways, the point is that coming back to take a 3 game series after losing the first game likely isn't as improbable as the last few years have made it seem. It happens all the time during the regular season.
  3. 3 Game Wild Card Series actually started in 2020 during the COVID season. Slightly different format with no team getting a bye, but: A's lost first game, but won final 2 at home to beat the White Sox. Padres lost first game, but won final 2 at home to beat the Cards. I don't think it's anywhere near as insurmountable as the last few years have made it seem.
  4. Hader postseason meltdown.
  5. Astros with a single run the entire series so far. Looking like a Brewers playoff run.
  6. Mets lineup is out. Only one lefty and then Lindor who is a switch hitter. Montas against LHH: .374 wOBA . Montas against RHH: .272 wOBA. Think we get a nice performance from Montas tonight.
  7. Well, we won this exact pitching matchup less than 5 days ago. And this team hasn't quit all year. So, there's reason for optimism. All you have to do is get one tonight, and then all of a sudden the vibes are good again, and the pressure is right back on the Mets. How often do 2 game winning streaks happen at home in MLB? ALL THE TIME, so let's get it done!
  8. Skubal is shoving.
  9. Make it 3-0. October, man.
  10. Tigers sporting Skubal a 2-0 lead here in the 2nd.
  11. It's already been a wildly successful season, considering the seemingly overwhelming odds we faced in March. I find myself more appreciative of October baseball this year compared to the last few years which have been highly stressful and ultimately quite depressing. In a sense it feels like the dawn of a new era of highly competitive baseball as opposed to last year which felt more like a last gasp. A series loss would sting for a few minutes (I'll really miss Willy), but would quickly be replaced by the knowledge of an ascending core of players led by a burgeoning 20 year old superstar to go with a healthy Yelich. That being said, there's no reason we can't win now (we won 93 games after all), so LET'S GO CREW!
  12. I'd have to imagine Frelick is a break glass in case of emergency option for this series. His game is so dependent on speed that it would be counterproductive to have him in the lineup if he's still limping around, and he's effectively interchangeable with Perkins. That being said, watch him be starting in RF today.
  13. Rea's fate was sealed with 106 pitches on Sunday.
  14. Astros tickets are going for even cheaper on the secondary market. Playoff fatigue is real. Also, the start time is crappy. Tickets are going for almost $20 more tomorrow night.
  15. Beat the Mets.
  16. Almost 70 pitches the last two days for Diaz heading into a 3 game Wild Card series....
  17. Two major recent rule changes helping out the Brewers here in Game 2: 1) September roster limit at 28. Mets aren't going to be able to rest all of their starters and relievers in Game 2. 2) Position Players unable to pitch unless down by 8 or more runs. Going to have to burn some relievers. Only Severino is available as someone who's stretched out as a starter and they're now going to save him for Game 1 tomorrow. Need a close Game 2, with the Braves coming out on top.
  18. Let Edwin Diaz throw all the pitches!
  19. Too much to ask for the Braves to tie the game and send it to extras?
  20. Best day ever for Brewers and Padres fans.
  21. If Peguero ends up on the postseason roster....
  22. MLB would never allow it.
  23. Padres fans are having a good time now.
  24. Would be nice if the Mets scored a run or two here to keep it close.
