  1. Incredible how Peguero just immediately loses his command with men on base.
  2. And here comes Peguero with an inherited runner in his first game back. lol Also, have a feeling the Cards will bring Helsley back out if they take the lead.
  3. Garrett Mitchell against Helsley lol. We know how this is going to end.
  4. If it leads to the Cards reupping him at age 37, I approve. His peripherals scream a declining hitter, and the Cards have an affinity for geriatrics.
  5. FWIW, I liked the bunt if Helsley was pitching and you were going to pinch hit for Hoskins. What I hate is the bunt by Ortiz after the walk to set up Turang in that situation. Other than Frelick, there's no one I want up less against a LHP needing a ball in the OF.
  6. Pinch hit Mitchell for Hoskins. Bunt 100% needs to be the play here against Helsley.
  7. Who needs drugs or love when you have Jackson Chourio.
  8. The last piece of the puzzle. Get hot Rhys!
  9. Seriously, why did they bring this guy up when he was struggling so bad with the bat in AAA.
  10. The advantages of pitching depth and a 10 game division lead… Hudson hasn’t been right for going on two months. Really should take a week or two off from pitching in games and see where he is as we head towards October. Would imagine this is Hoby’s last shot for the Brewers.
  11. The Padres are losing Kim and Machado and Bogaerts are much less viable at SS at this point than Willy (they're playing neither at SS right now with Kim on the IL). Maybe they move Merrill back there, but that would just be creating a new hole in CF. I think they'd be interested at least.
  12. Swanson at FA (age 28): 101 HRs, 255/.321/.417, 94 wRC+, 59.1 DEF, 15.9 fWAR Adames to date (age 29): 146 HRs, 249/.323/.445, 110 wRC+, 43.2 DEF, 20.8 fWAR Willy is also by far the best SS on the FA market this year, whereas Swanson had to compete with Correa, Turner, Bogaerts, and even Baez. All signs point to him getting at least what Swanson got.
  13. Royals, btw, who were supposed to be this super scary cautionary tale have now lost 6 in a row to fall out of 2nd place and 4.5 behind Cleveland. Not even the spectre of the 1995 Angels is left to scare us at this point.
  14. Ouch. Could potentially not just crush them this season.
  15. Updated playoff odds: Brewers: 99.9% Braves: 76.3% Mets: 30.6% Cubs: 7.5%
  16. Big scary Cubs cough up a 3 run lead in the 8th and fall prey to the Pirates. Lead back up to 10 with 24 to play. #Over.
