  1. Willy is going to want that one back. That was a meatball to deposit into the seats.
  2. If they're going to make a real run for a bye, might want to win tonight with the Dodgers and Phillies both losing.
  3. Freddy is going to have his work cut out for him tonight against this lineup.
  4. Again, even if they were to clinch the division with more than a week to spare, they'd still likely be mathematically alive for the playoff bye during that last week, so the incentive to win will be there. 5-11 is a stretch that is not really supported by anything this team has done this year. As potent as the DBacks offense is and hot as they are, their pitching is significantly worse than the Brewers and the Brewers have been one of the hottest teams in the 2nd half themselves. When we dream up scenarios about bad things occurring that aren't particularly likely and play up our opponents at every opportunity while dismissing our own strengths, I think it's fair to call it "dooming".
  5. Look it's not impossible as anything can happen over that small of a sample but it's pretty far fetched considering they haven't had a stretch that poor all season. Even the White Sox are projected by Fangraphs to finish better than that. It's pretty much dooming just to doom, and ignoring the fact that the Brewers are a good team with a potent offense in their own right (even if they've been slumping a bit lately). What happened in 2021 is irrelevant to this team. That team also didn't have a bye to play for.
  6. I mean not only did this kid become the youngest player in MLB history to go 20-20 tonight, but he came pretty close to becoming the first right handed hitter in the history of this ballpark to hit one into McCovey Cove....Just incredible oppo power.
  7. And the Brewers have the best run differential in baseball again....lol
  8. Knee surgery I'm afraid. Should be good for Spring Training. Though, I'd imagine he starts in the minors given his suspension.
  9. Actually it was Uribe who was first up in the closer spot, BA....
  10. This truly is shaping into a World Series caliber pitching staff. Just needs the bats to show up....
  11. If Jesus Made continues on his present path and we get Made and Chourio for 6+ years....
  12. I have as much confidence in our pitching staff right now as I've had all year.
  13. Do not even look for fastball here. Just sit on a slider in the zone.
  14. We probably have no choice but to spend money on Hoskins.
  15. Reverse jinx worked. Awesome stuff from Montas, who looks to be close to his former TOR self and has earned a spot in the playoff rotation. Now, score some runs!
  16. We're going 6-11 to finish the season?
  17. Okay. I don't approve of trying to squeeze more out of Montas against the top of their order. Seems like a perfect spot for Ashby.
  18. Not really. Montas has been great for the Brewers.
  19. Montas continues to impress. If Colin Rea starts a playoff game over him, I might blow a gasket.
  20. If only we could get that swing from Sal more often...
