Yep. Feel free to move Made into the top 10/5 of your prospect rankings folks....This level of praise for a prospect yet to reach full season ball is rare. The last one I can think of is Wander Franco. Even Chourio didn't generate this kind of buzz until he tore up the Carolina League for about a month.

It's not like we've suffered any recent late season/postseason heartbreak on account of the Cubs, either. You'd have to go back to the 2007 collapse when the Cubs caught us for the division to find anything worth crying over. Dodgers PTSD? Well warranted. Cardinals PTSD? Warranted, though much, much less so since La Russa, Pujols, and Molina all left and/or retired. The Cubs? Not very warranted. It's quite hard to comprehend. They literally had to steal our longtime manager to try to copy our success, and that's failed so far.....

Not voting season yet obviously, but what the heck why not another unsolicited personal top 10 :) 1) Quero Still the best combination of youth, upside, positional scarcity, and proximity to the majors. He'll have to prove that his cannon is untouched by the injury, but there's no reason right now to doubt a full recovery. 2) Misiorowski Right there with Quero in terms of upside and proximity, but remaining questions surrounding control and whether he'll be able to stick as a starter enough to slot him behind Quero. 3) Made I'm highly reluctant to slot a guy this high who's yet to touch full-season ball, but when you have services like BA and ESPN already ranking him as a top 100 prospect and the combo of batted ball data and contact that this guy is showing at barely 17 years of age, you really have no choice. Kiley McDaniel has him ranked ahead of Ethan Holliday, the prohibitive favorite to be selected #1 in next summer's draft and a candidate for immediate top 20 placement upon his drafting, for best 17 year old on the planet. LONG way to go obviously and things can always go wrong, but he's a lot more likely to shoot up to the Brewers #1 prospect by next summer than he is to fall out of the top 10/5 or something, so why not rank him here now. 4) Pratt Only 20 and can do everything on the diamond, with the power just starting to show signs of materializing. 5) Gasser Too bad TJ cut short what was looking like a quick ascent to a middle of the rotation starter. 6) Bitonti 3rd baseman, but power is impressive for an 18 year old and he's shown that it will translate to full season ball. 7) Black Really rough season for him, especially in terms of his peripherals, but the trademark plate discipline remains. Still has no positional home. 8) Wilken Another guy who had a rough season, but the light tower power and the ability to play 3B remains and you wonder how much getting hit in the face threw a wrench into things. 9) Payne Only just turned 18 and a super impressive full season cameo with suprising EV #s. If he develops power, his upside is as big as anyone this side of Made. 10) Henderson Has slowed down some in AAA, but he's also throwing as many innings as he ever has and you can't ignore what he's shown over multiple levels this year. Will he develop that 3rd pitch? Chourio graduating and Quero being injured and Black falling off means we'll head into the offseason lower in the rankings than last year, but you can see the potential to shoot back up into the top 10/5 with guys in the lower minors like Made, Payne, Bitonti, Pratt, Pena, etc. and potential bounce backs from guys in the upper minors like Wilken and Quero.

We have the best run differential in baseball. We should win games at a decent clip despite our schedule, too. I don't think we're likely to catch the Dodgers, but it's far, far more realistic than the Cubs catching us.

They're three times as close to the Dodgers as they are to the Cubs. They'll be a game closer to the Dodgers than the Phillies. 2.5 games isn't insurmountable at all, even if not likely.
