    You're right in a sense, but their rotation is looking full right now with Strider, Fried, Morton, Sale, Elder, AJSS. Lessens their desperation level to part with the guys it'd take to get Burnes.

    You can probably take the Braves out of the bidding for Burnes now, too. Shame cause I really like their pitching prospects.

    True. Pretty much since Garza and Lohse, so since before the current regime. Only thought it made sense if they traded Burnes and wanted a TOR pitcher (arguable) to replace him and show the fans they still wanted to seriously contend this year.

    A 4.1 WAR definitely helps the team, regardless of whether it's in LF or at DH.

    I'd rather have Arias than Lombard. Make an upside play alongside Pratt. Guy could be a top 20/10 prospect a year from now.

    I don't have much interest in Schmidt being any part of a deal. He's an Adrian Houser back-end type, which is valuable in the aggregate due to the amount of control, but will still eat away at the rest of the return. Same idea with Peraza. I'd definitely want Hampton back. Give me Arias and his upside, too. Throw in another pitcher, and I'd do it. A shame they gave up Thorpe in the Soto deal. I'm really high on him.

    As far as your question, I don't see it happening. If there's one area that the Brewers have proven they can be good-to-elite and not expend significant resources it's in the late innings. Even Devin Williams looks to be on his way out sometime within the next year, with Uribe being groomed to take over for him.

    How do you know this? We had major success with him leading the back-end of the pen. He could very well miss Milwaukee and want to come back. You don't know for sure, so why say this?

    If the Twins aren't going to give up Lee, I'd take a package of Rodriguez, Festa, Raya, and Miranda, despite our glut of OFers. I'd be all for a future Chourio, Rodriguez, and Wilken middle of the order. Festa and Raya are the type of arms the Brewers value and have had success with. Miranda has been squeezed out of the Twins IF picture with Lewis' emergence, but would give the Brewers much needed controllable depth in the corners to insert onto the major league roster and likely the OD lineup. Thoughts, @Brock Beauchamp?

    I expect we’ll hear an announcement about the Brewers resigning Carlos Santana to a one year deal shortly after the holiday.

You realize you come across as something yourself when you feel the need to do this with every single one of my posts, including just yesterday when I simply shared an article (trying to figure out how that’s about phrasing or knowing it all)? Unfortunately, I can’t exactly spell it out for you as it would get filtered by the site. If you disagree with my opinion, just say so and present evidence why you think I’m wrong. I can take it, and I’m not always right. No need for the other stuff. Simple as that.

There’s literally evidence throughout his tenure going back to the Rays which says it’s not really Friedman’s style to give up prospects for one year rentals. They were only willing to give up Pepiot if Glasnow agreed to an extension.
