  1. Philly just put up 7 runs in a series where Ashby, Wilson, and Rea were our "starters". I wonder if their fans are talking about how inconsistent their offense is and saying it isn't good enough.
  2. I think I'd rather go after Fedde. 1 less year of control so he should be cheaper to acquire and he's already built up to eat innings. He doesn't have the amazing stuff that Crochet has, but he would bring some dependability to our rotation.
  3. Those are very homer packages. No chance the White Sox would go for any of them.
  4. Jesus Made struck out looking in the 1st inning and was replaced defensively in the 2nd inning. Injury or ejection?
  5. Not really changed. That Phillies team is by far the best team in the NL at this point. Just insane pitching both in the rotation and pen. Their offense is really good. Their defense hasn’t been a total liability like previous seasons. Brewers bats have slumped a bit and are going through a bit of a power outage, but offenses go through stretches like this. I don’t see any reason to be hugely concerned.
  6. Could he be debuting in his next start and they wanted to keep his pitch count down the start before?
  7. Carlos Rodriguez being pulled after 5.1 IP with his pitch count at 74 was a bit strange. No trainer or anything. It looked planned.
  8. When you have to back up and jump up in the air to get the ball, you've already done too much to bring the ball home.
  9. It was just a bad choice to go home on that one. Just get the out at first and move on with it.
  10. Ump has had a tight zone all game then first pitch of the 9th decides to expand and call strike 1 against Monasterio
  11. We've faced good pitchers in this series who have been on their game, but man the offense pretty much isn't even putting up a fight. Won't get any easier facing Olson and Skubal against the Tigers. Bats need to wake up or it could be an ugly road trip.
  12. 8 straight balls from Ashby to Stubbs today. Can't be walking a weak hitting backup catcher twice.
  13. Frelick really swinging for the fences a few times today. Don't love seeing that.
  14. Yeah need to take advantage of mistakes Nola makes. That pitch should have been crushed.
  15. Coming into today he was slashing .200/.250/.307 in 80 PA since the start of the Astros series.
  16. He's hit well in the leadoff spot, but I've been thinking the same regarding moving him down because he's been so much less aggressive on the basepaths. Move Ortiz to lead off who really isn't a big SB guy and let Turang get back to stealing bases a ton.
  17. Getting tired of the umps squeezing our pitchers in this series.
  18. He looks really sharp here early. Just all over the edges.
  19. Gasser placed on the 15 day IL with a left flexor strain
  20. And Adames has a much bigger role in the clubhouse than Burnes. Also pitchers are just way more injury prone than position players and all it takes is one big injury for a pitcher like Burnes and boom you no longer can give him a QO and get a comp pick out of it. That risk for a position player is much smaller.
  21. Junis velo was way down tonight, so not sure if he’s really that close to being ready.
  22. That LOB% stat on fangraphs has nothing to do with inherited runners. Peguero has the most meltdowns in the pen and the lowest WPA among non shuttle guys. He's just not been good in high leverage spots this year.
  23. Look beyond his ERA and actually watch him pitch. He has no clue where the ball is going out of his hand. He's been getting incredibly lucky and has allowed something like 80% his inherited runners to score. The HR pitch today was supposed to be a down and in sinker that he threw to the top of the zone. It's bad right now.
  24. Payamps and Peguero have both regressed hard this year. Pretty disappointing.
  25. Chourio just was absolutely dismantled there.
