  1. According to Robert Murray on his latest Baseball Insiders Podcast episode, the Brewers are quietly scanning mid-tier SP free agent market with Michael Lorenzen and Mike Clevinger being the two names that were mentioned. Murray mentioned this at the 11:20 mark of the embedded video. Lorenzen has a career 4.11 ERA and 4.32 FIP. He's coming off an up and down 2023 season where he was having a nice bounce back season in Detroit before being shipped to Philadelphia at the trade deadline where he struggled outside of his first two starts. Clevinger has a career 3.45 ERA and 3.87 FIP. He's coming off a bounce back season in 2023 after a rough 2022. There were some off field question marks regarding a domestic violence accusation that did not end up leading to a suspension. With Wade Miley's health to open the year a question, should the Brewers add more SP depth if the price is right? View full rumor

  3. Of course the garbage Bally isn't working with Misiorowski is pitching. The only reason I continued watching the game and Bally's trash doesn't let me see it.
  4. Players need to earn their position in the batting order said after saying Frelick who was a below league average hitter last year needs to lead off...that's some type of logic.
  5. Rosiak said on camp report day that Miley had an offseason illness that left him needing to add weight coming into camp. Could be the reason. I've seen nothing about him being injured.
  6. Felt like there was always a chance this could happen after he showed up to camp wanting to add weight. Rosiak said an offseason illness made him lose a lot of weight. I think being cautious with Miley and letting him get his body where it wants to be would be way smarter than rushing him to be ready for the start of the season.
  7. Savant's arm strength metric isn't raw average. It's average of the top 5% of your throws. If it was just raw average then I wouldn't pay much attention to it for the reasons you said.
  8. Pretty sure you can only get 1 PPI pick per season as well, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
  9. FYI you need to win the ROY to get the extra pick not finish top 3.
  10. The divorce isn't really that bad. We had great years with him and it was time to try something new. It was more divorcing us to go marry our big brother that has more money that caused the hate. If he left for Cleveland or the Mets then I think pretty much everyone is over it already and the original backlash wouldn't have probably been non-existent.
  11. Arm Strength is honestly just an overrated aspect of 3B defense. Monasterio had one of the weakest 3B arms but put up 6 DRS, 1 UZR, and 2 OAA in less than 500 innings at 3B.
  12. Here you go: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/arm-strength?type=player&year=2023&minThrows=100&pos=&team=&sortColumn=arm_3b&sortDirection=desc Statcast > Eye test
  13. Of 58 guys with at least 100 throws at 3B last year Madrigal's arm strength of 85.1 was 23rd among 3B and the exact same number as Manny Machado. Maybe your eye test isn't as accurate as you think it is.
  14. Clarke being a bit of a butcher behind home plate this inning. Not framing well and a wild pitch on a ball he should have blocked.
  15. Had plenty of zip on the first one.
  16. I wasn’t talking about an extension. I was talking about signing a longer contract in FA…
  17. Yeah Boras might have actually hurt Bellinger here. He way overperformed his peripherals last year in a way that doesn’t look super sustainable. If he regresses then he’s really going to regret not signing a long term deal. I agree the Cubs didn’t improve much this offseason. Bellinger returned and Imanaga replaced Stroman. That leaves their 2 best additions at Michael Busch and Hector Neris. Not exactly big time upgrades. I think I’d put them and St. Louis ahead of us going into the year though.
  18. Wiemer and Gasser - Minimum number of days. Don’t know exact number but it’s like 15? Mitchell - 56ish days Ortiz - 46ish days Hall - 90ish days
  19. Thats my point. They are pushing the bulk money to 2026 to leave more spending available for 2025.
  20. I hope that $10M buyout being paid out in 2 seperate installments in 2026 means Brewers view 2025 as a potential go for it year.
  21. Must be a fangraphs mistake. He was drafted in 2021 out of HS. He shouldn't be Rule 5 eligible until 2025. Avina and Nicasia were both drafted out of HS in the same draft and Fangraphs has them Rule 5 eligible in 2025.
  22. Just browsing Fangraphs this past week during their Prospect Week and Longenhagen is considerably lower on our system than the rest of the industry. Interesting to see. Feel like in the past he was higher on us than consensus but now he has us probably outside the top 10 in terms of farm system rankings compared to us being I think top 3 according to everyone else.
  23. Brewers could put a QO on Woodruff in scenario 2.
  24. Cubs have treated Counsell so well by giving him a worse team than the 2023 Cubs lol.
  25. Jahmai Jones DFA makes sense. He was out of options and had basically no chance of making the opening day roster.
