  1. We are smaller market than the Rays but we generate more revenue than them because we actually have fans.
  2. The 40 man flexibility talk is just such a reach. The only difference between trading for him and drafting him in the Rule 5 in terms of 40 man flexibility is this offseason. In season he will be on the 60-day IL because of TJ and he will need to be added next offseason to the 40-man to protect him from the Rule 5. So we are talking 3 months difference when we have a bunch of players who can easily be moved off the 40 man.
  3. Steamer also has Rea projected to be Miley. It's clearly not an exact science lol.
  4. As of right now we are probably looking at opening day payroll being down $15M +/- $5M compared to our 2023 opening day 26 man payroll and about $30M lower than our 2022 opening day payroll.
  5. My point is the people who are trying to justify this trade as not a salary dump because the Brewers clearly value Crow a bunch are being ironic. If Brewers clearly valued Crow they would have taken him in the Rule 5 draft. If they just had to get him they wouldn't have taken the chance of someone else selecting him or trading for him in the last 2 weeks.
  6. He wouldn't take up a 40-man roster spot in season because he would be on the 60-day IL...
  7. Yes 90 days on the MLB roster in 2025 before he could be optioned. That's not that difficult. He's going to need to be added to the 40-man roster next offseason already so not sure why this is problematic. We just salary dumped 2 MLB players who combined for almost 3 WAR last year despite injuries because they were set to make $6M combined.
  8. I don't think he's returning mid 2024. He had TJ in August not in June.
  9. If they really liked Crow they could have selected him in the Rule 5 draft 2 weeks ago.
  10. Those fantastic numbers were with the tacky ball and a 24 inning sample. I don't have any issues with us getting Coleman Crow. I have an issue with us not drafting him in the Rule 5 and instead trading 2 MLB players for him in what at least for now appears to be a cost saving move.
  11. It's not the same as a Rule 5 pick but we literally could have taken him in the Rule 5 instead of giving up 2 quality MLB players for him and all it would have costed was a year of service time with him on the IL all year.
  12. Yeah I just don't get this move. Coleman Crow was literally available in the Rule 5 draft earlier this month. He's going to be missing all of 2024 due to TJ. Seems like a lot to give up for a guy we could have gotten for free a couple weeks ago.
  13. I'm fine with this signing in the end. Quero like you said probably comes up at some point. Where this signing becomes an issue for me is if we run it back with Burnes and Adames and don't make a notable move to improve the offense. I'm just worried we run it back without actually upgrading the offense just to miss the playoffs and get less value for Burnes and Adames at the deadline.
  14. Pretty darn underwhelming. This guy peaked in 2021 and totally fell off a cliff after that when it comes to peripheral numbers. Percentiles by year (21 -> 22 -> 23) xwOBA - 41st -> 34th -> 1st xSLG - 72nd -> 50th -> 2nd Avg EV - 79th -> 25th -> 14th Barrel % - 86th -> 59th -> 13th Hard-Hit % - 84th -> 63rd -> 20th Sweet-Spot % - 69th -> 34th -> 7th
  15. Garver and Sanchez. Those 2 and Murphy are the 3 best bats at catcher in FA. I want to target a bat first C who can also get some games at DH.
  16. Praying this is sarcasm. Brewers need a backup catcher. I want Brewers to sign 1 of my 3 desired targets. Tom Murphy was one of them. Obviously I don’t want them to sign 3 catchers.
  17. One of my 3 desired backup catchers is now off the board. Tom Murphy to the Giants. 2/$8M.
  18. Gardner with 3 strikeouts in 2 innings...wow he's fallen off.
  19. Chapman is never signing a 2 year deal. Likely going to need at least 4 to get him. MLBTR has him estimated for 6/$150M
  20. Orioles just don't seem likely. Elias is way too much of a prospect hugger to give up a big haul for a rental.
  21. Now the deal hinging on Glasnow signing at extension likely adds value for Glasnow but Burnes and Adames would have never been on the table for an offer that week.
  22. Why are people arguing about a rumor Heyman confirmed was not real?
  23. Very doubtful. Burnes and Adames are WAY more valuable than Glasnow and Margot. I don't think BTV is an exact science but it generally does pretty good job. They have Burnes and Adames worth almost $35M more surplus value than Glasnow and Margot.
  24. They landed Correa. Giants pulled the accepted offer after the physical.
