    The unofficial retiring of Gantner's number might be the most unserious thing I've ever seen. Either retire his number or don't. He retired 30 freaking years ago. Enough with this madness.

    Does that even make the Brewers better? I can easily see a world where Burnes and Black combine for more WAR than Polanco and Cease. Hard, hard pass, but I understand why the Cubs fan would want this trade to happen.

    Silly Brewers. They should have forced Hoskins to sign a longer contract than he wanted. Pretty clear Hoskins wanted a pillow type contract and not a 3-4 year deal for less AAV.

    I get you’re also a Twins fan but saying Nathan is the equivalent to Wagner is just flat out not close to reality. Wagner is one of the best RP ever. Wagner had a 54 ERA- and 63 FIP- for his career. Nathan had a 67 ERA- and 79 FIP- for his career. On a rate basis Wagner is the 2nd best RP in MLB history behind Rivera. Nathan isn’t even close to that class.

    Bryce Harper moved to 1B and they already have Schwarber and Castellanos who are awful in the OF and will likely spend a lot of time at DH. So basically just nowhere for Hoskins to play unless you want Schwarber and Castellanos in the OF every day.

    Southern League average CS% was 22%. I don't know why you continue to do this. You've done it with Baez despite being told over and over again he's not a SS. You're doing it here with Clarke. Stop it.

    Wes Clarke will never be anything more than an MLB 3rd catcher or emergency catcher. He’s a 1B/DH at the MLB level.

    Until Wagner gets in K-Rod shouldn't be considered for the HoF.

    Brewers should go after Votto in 1 scenario and that's it. If they decide to trade Adames, Williams, and Burnes and basically have 2024 be a 1-year rebuild. Votto can come in as a fan interest tool and vet locker room guy for a young team. If the plan is to win the Brewers shouldn't go near Votto.

    Juan Baez was signed for $10K and is a ranked prospect. I believe Uribe signed for a small amount.

    Here's our positional WAR last year and the ZiPS projections for 2024. fWAR for position prospects and rWAR for pitchers. C - 6.2 -> 2.8 (-3.7) 1B - -0.6 -> 0.7 (+1.3) 2B - 0.5 -> 1.5 (+1.0) SS - 3.1 -> 4.1 (+1.0) 3B - 1.2 -> 1.9 (+0.7) LF - 5.9 -> 1.9 (-4.0) CF - 3.3 -> 1.9 (-1.4) RF - 0.4 --> 2.0 (+1.6) DH - -1.6 -> 0.7 (+2.3) SP - 15.8 -> 12.8 (-3.0) RP - 8.6 -> 4.7 (-3.9) Safe to say ZiPS is not a fan of the 2024 Brewers.

    If that's what WAR this team gets out of LF and C we are going to finish 4th in the NLC. Last year C got us 6.2 fWAR and LF got us 5.9 fWAR.

    What are the rules exactly? The mod homer suspended me for 3 days for saying something was a lousy comparison. If those are the rules then at least 5 people commenting in this thread should be getting suspended. So what are the rules?

    Given it's the Dodgers, I almost expect Chambers to be pitching in the MLB in half a decade. Hudson looks solid though. His FB looks like a really good pitch and if he can find a secondary to consistently play off the FB then I think there's a good MLB RP in there.

    20th round pick is a bit misleading. Chambers signed for the 6th largest bonus among all of our draft picks last year and the highest of our day 3 picks. Brewers clearly liked him alot to give him $550K with him recovering from TJ.

    I don’t see any reason the Brewers should dilute a Burnes trade return getting back a short term player. The entire point of a Burnes trade is to set us up better to contend during the Chourio era not to win in 2024.

    What a lousy comparison. Tyrone has 100 fewer career PA and 1.7 more fWAR. He’s a plus defender in the OF compared to Thompson being average. If Thompson was as good as Tyrone then the Mets would have never traded for Tyrone because they already have Thompson! Another person saying Houser is pricy. What are we doing here? Have you not paid attention to the contracts pitchers are getting in FA?

    In all seriousness though, if Houser is overpaid at $3M-$5M then what is he? You're saying he's not even worth half a WAR in salary. To me saying someone is basically replacement level is the same as saying they are bad.
