  1. Does this factor in context like the Twins playing in one of the worst divisions in MLB history?
  2. Where was this voted on? Pretty flabbergasted that Turang is third ahead of Uribe, Wiemer, and Perkins. Turang was easily our worst rookie this season. Among the 212 players with 400 PA this season Turang had tied for the second worst wRC+ at 60 which is 40% worse than league average. Truly an abomination at the plate. Perkins and Wiemer were better defensively and at the plate than Turang. Uribe pitched his way into a high leverage role and was pretty dominant.
  3. This would be why. Hitting a baseball is really hard and Gallen is elite at tunneling pitches off each other like this.
  4. Dodgers with a combined 2 IP from their Game 1 and 2 SP. Just crazy. They are pretty fortunate that the NLDS has an extra off day or their bullpen would be pretty wiped out by game 3 of the series.
  5. Dbacks up 3-0 in the 1st inning. Why do we always lose to the team that happens to go on the hottest run every playoffs?
  6. Yeah I just realized that people complaining about the bye is probably playing right into the MLB's hands to expand to a 16 team playoff.
  7. So far the teams to earn a bye are 1-5 in the DS. I honestly kind of hope all the WC teams win and advance to the CS then the MLB gets backlash from the teams they ditch this current playoff format. Go back to 4 teams make the playoffs in each league. Then bump the DS up to a 7 game series to counteract getting rid of the WC round. Baseball is just not a sport where getting 5 extra days off after the season is an advantage. This isn’t the NFL where getting the bye and getting your team healthy can be a huge advantage.
  8. 48th percentile xwOBA in 2022 which is nothing special. He had a .341 BABIP which doesn't at all seem sustainable for a guy who doesn't have a big sweet spot rate and doesn't hit the ball hard.
  9. They could always just trade for a different infielder or sign one in FA. No reason to dilute a potential Adames return getting back average players like Arcia, Grissom, Lux.
  10. Maybe talking defensively where Grissom is an absolute butcher in the middle infield? In roughly 530 career innings in the middle infield he has -10 DRS, -21.7 UZR/150, and -13 OAA. He has a 107 wRC+ but only 0.1 fWAR because his defense has been that bad.
  11. It's not set up well for the LAD and PHI. With the 3 offdays, Dbacks should be able to go Gallen in games 2 and 5 and Kelly in game 4. Philly should be able to go Wheeler in 2 and 5, Nola in 3, and Suarez in 4. That extra off day in the NLDS this year really gifted the WC teams the ability to start their best pitchers for most of the NLDS and WC.
  12. If Woodruff gets non-tendered because he’s not pitching in 2024 nobody is going to pay him the $12.5M he’s projected to make according to MLBTR. Even if he got $15M in 2025 after not pitching in 2024 it’s less money than working a 2 year deal to guarantee himself like $20M total between 2024 and 2025.
  13. If Lux is the main piece the Brewers are getting back for Burnes then I wouldn’t even bother trading Burnes. No thanks on a low/no power middle infielder.
  14. If rumors that Woodruff needs shoulder surgery and will miss all of 2024 are true then he would absolutely have a reason to guarantee himself some money.
  15. EBJ had that single in his first AB and has 3 strikeouts since then. I do have to say there are some doubts/questions entering my mind on his bat. Hopefully he can stay healthy next year and put those questions/doubts to rest.
  16. This isn’t AFL but didn’t feel like it warranted it’s own thread. Josh Norris posted some Ryan Birchard highlights. Definitely an intriguing pitcher.
  17. See you’re literally calling it a bad contract again. If it’s a bad contract Brewers are just eating money to get rid of one of their best players. Sure people can talk about this but the idea of trading Yelich is as realistic to the idea of the Brewers signing Judge in FA last year. It’s never going to happen so nobody talks about it. Yet this site has been trying to trade Yelich for years.
  18. Look at the Brewers contracts over the next 5 years. We have literally ZERO need to get off Yelich's contract. None. Nada. Zilch. By the time our prospects get expensive in their final 2 years of Arb Yelich would be off the books. We aren't the Rays. We don't run bottom of the barrel payrolls. Just because they made a trade doesn't mean the Brewers will.
  19. The Brewers have 4 good OF prospects. The likelihood all 4 hit is incredibly low and in the crazy occurrence it does happen then there's always moving Yelich to 1B/DH. Brewers have basically no long term money outside of Yelich. There's no need to get rid of his contract. Brewers had a horrible offense this year and people are talking about trading 1 of our 2 good bats?? Are we trying to get substantially worse?
  20. Yeah Rowdy and Lauer seem like easy non-tenders. I think Toro likely gets non-tendered because he no longer has options. Burnes, Adames, Williams are all guys who could get traded this offseason. Depending on the severity of Woodruff's injury, the Brewers could non-tender him or sign a 2-year deal with him to save money next year then have a bigger 2025 number with some incentives based on IP.
  21. Okay so with all these negatives the Brewers would have to eat money just to get rid of his contract then right? It's just a non-starter. The whole discussion is silly. The Brewers didn't trade Braun just like they won't trade Yelich.
  22. The contract is fine. There's zero reason to trade the face of the franchise and our second best player just to get off a contract. He's not going to get traded. People talk about it like it's actually a possibility and it's honestly just hilarious seeing that happen.
  23. Yelich has 10/5. Why are people suggesting he get traded? He has a full no-trade clause and basically zero trade value. No reason to get rid of him.
