  1. I do feel bad for Devin in the sense that he’s getting a brunt of the blame from the fanbase for this series loss. It’s understandable but at the same time, are we even in this position today if Payamps remembered to cover 1B, if Hoskins, Adames, Contreras, Ortiz had provided even a bit of offense, if the Brewers hadn’t waited until game 3 of the series to steal bases, if the Brewers as a team didn’t totally forget how to take a walk?
  2. I think I agree with one of the quotes that this is really nothing. Didn’t seem like the Mets knew what was coming.
  3. Absolutely. Ortiz was diabolically bad at the plate in this series. Basically a pitcher. I've pushed back on some of the Haase love from this board, but I would have taken him 100 times out of 100 over Ortiz there. Haase is absolutely a guy who could have hit a game tying HR or done some damage.
  4. I'd say the only mistakes from Murphy tonight were leaving in Devin after he hit Winker. Giving up that 4th run was an absolute back breaker. Also not pinch hitting for Ortiz in the 9th inning. He was absolutely horrendous in this series. Didn't have a single good AB. Was basically like a pitcher hitting up there.
  5. Yeah he's definitely a middle ground between everyone else and the good group but can't in good conscience put him in the good group after that garbage 3-2 swing
  6. Deeper into the game the better he has looked because our guys are pressing harder and harder for the big hit and swinging over the top of his soft stuff
  7. Just an absolutely embarrassing performance tonight from everyone not named Chourio, Perkins, Sanchez, Turang.
  8. Megill needs to come back out for the 7th.
  9. And Lindor does this when seeing a pitcher a 3rd time.
  10. Myers tunnels his pitches extremely well. Look slider and by the team you realize it's a FB on the edge it's too late to swing.
  11. Horrible from Hoskins. 2-0 and he swings at a pitch at his ankles.
  12. I think the decision is super easy that Tobias is done before Lindor comes up a 3rd time. Lindor has seen him well tonight and absolutely destroys pitchers the 3rd time he sees them with a 202 OPS+/wRC+ (can't remember which one)
  13. Also puts him behind in the count.
  14. Just absolutely horrible AB's from Hoskins, Frelick, and Ortiz. Ortiz saw 1 strike in 5 pitches but he swung 3 times.
  15. I feel like if Nimmo had more urgency in LF there that he might have had a play on Sanchez at 2B
  16. Adames swing path is completely out of whack. He's been a pop up machine in this series.
  17. And we already have a defensive miscue one batter in. Just unreal.
  18. And it turns out Contreras is hurt. That sucks. Do not feel great about Sanchez defense behind home plate in a do or die game.
  19. Here are Myers numbers with Contreras vs Sanchez catching him. Contreras - 3.26 ERA, .230/.283/.369 slash, 22.8% K-rate, 6.5% BB-rate, 1.2 HR/9 Sanchez - 1.72 ERA, .267/.307/.397 slash, 20.5% K-rate, 6.3% BB-rate, 0.86 HR/9 Better ERA and HR numbers with Sanchez catching but worse slash line and worse K/BB rate with Sanchez catching...idk is Contreras hurt? Sanchez is also worse framing and blocking than Contreras and similar at pop times.
  20. This should be linked to 9:00 minutes which is right before the Garrett Mitchell HR. If not just go to 9:00.
  21. Would be awesome if Ortiz, Adames, Contreras, Hoskins, Sanchez showed up tonight. For the most part that group has been really bad this series.
  22. He hasn't been as good but I thought he looked extremely good against us last week. He had his season high in strikeouts in fewer than 5 IP. He gave up 2 ER but he looked really good for the most part.
  23. Chourio has always been ready for the big moment.
