    Feel like Brewers would rather stick him on the 15-Day IL than option him because he didn't burn his option yet this season and I imagine the Brewers don't want him to burn his final option.

    Moustakas was also not eligible for the QO as a Brewer because he got one in Kansas City. Moustakas declined the QO in the 2017 offseason which ended up being a mistake because he re-signed a 1-year deal in Kansas City for significantly less than the QO amount. Lorenzo Cain also got a QO that offseason which is why the Brewers didn't have a 3rd round pick in the 2019 draft after signing him that offseason. https://www.mlb.com/news/track-qualifying-offers-for-mlb-free-agents-c260724482

    If Andrew Vaughn somehow keeps up his pace for the rest of the season, I definitely think he gets a few down ballot MVP votes even with just 300 PA. Especially so if the Brewers finish as the 1 seed in the NL

    This pitcher has Brewers written all over him. LHP throwing 97 playing on the Brewers Area Code team who also re-classified to 2026 from 2027 making him 17 years old at the draft.

    Grandal wasn’t eligible for a QO from the Brewers because the Dodgers gave him a QO after the 2018 season. This is why the Brewers didn't have a 3rd round pick in 2019 as it was forfeited when they signed Grandal.

    If the mutual option is declined they can offer him a qualifying offer. There are only 2 stipulations for potential FA to not be eligible for a qualifying offer. One is if they have already received a qualifying offer in the past and two is they weren't on their current team at the start of the season. Woodruff has never received a qualifying offer and was on the Brewers to start the season. He's eligible for the QO.

    Yes though the pick number would obviously depend on what he signs for. Over $50M would be between round 1 and the Comp A round. Under $50M would be after the Comp B round

    Lauer and Priester were very differently viewed pitchers coming up. Both were 1st round picks but Priester came with a lot more prospect pedigree than Lauer. Priester was pretty much a consensus Top 100 prospect for multiple years before debuting while Lauer was more in the teens in a Top 30 org guy. Priester had good marks for breaking pitches and command but his FB lagged behind which is why he struggled once he got to MLB. He doesn't even throw a four seamer anymore ditching it completely for more sinker usage and his new cutter which is an improving pitch. Priester before June 10th - 13% cutter usage, 11 G, 55.2 IP, 3.88 ERA, 4.09 xERA, 4.62 FIP, 4.43 xFIP, 4.71 SIERA, 15% K-rate, 11% BB-rate Priester starting June 10th - 22% cutter usage, 10 G, 58.2 IP, 2.45 ERA, 3.15 xERA, 3.44 FIP, 3.11 xFIP, 3.20 SIERA, 24% K-rate, 5% BB-rate

    The throw did go to 3rd. The 3B realized there wasn't a play at 3rd and cut down the throw a few feet then threw it to 2nd to get Handelfry out. Just a learning moment for Handelfry playing at a new level against better competition.

    Yeah I just think DeBerry was promoted because Biloxi needs guys to start games not because they think he has nothing left to prove in A+

    Looking at this Carolina game and the pitcher they are facing would undoubtedly be pitching in A+ if he was in the Brewers system being a 22 year old 4th round pick who has been very good across nearly 80 A ball innings. Just another example of how aggressive the Brewers push their prospects when they have success.
