  1. I have a feeling this was a Charlotte special based on the EV and distance. I didn't watch but I can't imagine 92 EV and 329ft are getting out of many ballparks.
  2. Welcome to professional baseball Mason Molina. He strikes out the side on 11 pitches in his first professional innings.
  3. If he just matches how he’s pitched during his entire Brewers tenure he probably gets tendered. 3.79 ERA after today. Peripherals not as rosy but solid back of the rotation type arm who probably will only be making roughly $8M next year.
  4. Definitely not as fun looking at the starting pitchers in the system these days compared to earlier in the year. Today we have Mason Molina, Tyler Wehrle, Nick Merkel, Mitch White starting for the affiliates. No disrespect to these professional baseball players, but it's not as exciting as the Knoth/Letson/Rodriguez, Hunt/Kuehner, Misiorowski/Henderson/Wichrowski, Rodriguez/Gasser type days we would get earlier in the year.
  5. Brett Wichrowski is in Arizona per his Instagram story. I wonder if he’s hit his innings limit and is being shutdown for the year. He threw 50 innings in 22 and 62 innings in 23. He’s at 89 innings in 24 so seems like maybe there was an innings limit reached?
  6. Losing Adames will sting though especially with how good his bat has been this season.
  7. I mean that's some but I feel like the HR luck in terms of when we are giving up HR has been extremely fortunate. I did it a while back but relative to the amount of HR we have hit (and we are bottom half of the league in HR) we have way more 3-run HR and grand slams than our pitchers have given up. A lot of the HR damage has been 1 and 2 run HR which for how many HR we have given up mostly seems like good fortune than skill.
  8. Very good. 3rd in DRS and 4th in OAA
  9. Especially insane because our pitching staff has given up the 6th most HR in the MLB and are 21st in K% and 15th in BB%. So lots of HR, not a lot of strikeouts, and average amount of walks into being very good at suppressing runs makes virtually no sense.
  10. Myers is at 127 IP not 108. He threw 18.2 innings in AAA. so only about 2 starts away from hitting last years total. I agree it's not a huge deal. You can skip a start in September if you're too worried but he should be good to go 160-170 IP. Also worth noting he threw 2321 pitches in 2023 and is at 1953 pitches in 2024 so if you're just looking at raw pitch numbers he has like 4 starts worth of pitches before he hits last years pitch total
  11. I'm not worried that he won't be effective because like you said he's been effective at 94mph in the past. I'm worried that this left shoulder issue that held him out during the A's series might be something that could linger or that his back is sore again.
  12. Nice stress free bounce back inning from DW, but can't say I love seeing his FB down at 93-94 after seeing it 95-97 when he first came off the IL.
  13. Devin finally gets his revenge against Estrada!
  14. And the underlying numbers have been horrific for 3 months. Unless he finds his early season form between now and the playoffs, hard to justify keeping him in a playoff lineup especially with his bad 1B defense
  15. Honestly think I'd rather Bauers start getting the starts at 1B against RHP. Hoskins underlying numbers are so poor.
  16. Getting some insurance runs would be nice. I really don't want a scenario where Yastrzemski gets on and Estrada is up as the tying run considering he's 2-2 with 2 HR in his career against Devin.
  17. If the plan isn't use good RP today so they are available for the double header on Friday then I have no clue what this bullpen management from Murphy was today. Have Wilson or Ashby pitch tomorrow regardless of leverage and then DFA/IL Wilson and/or option Ashby for the doubleheader I guess? If that's the plan it makes some sense although I still think Wilson could have pitched the 8th and been available to go multiple innings tomorrow.
  18. Bringing in Payamps with the 2 guys who had extremely hard contact off him yesterday due up is hilarious managing.
  19. I'm actually terrified Murphy is going to run all of our LHP into the ground before the playoffs. He loves using our good LHP even in non-leverage situations. Like why are we using Koenig up 4 runs in the 8th inning when Wilson hasn't pitched in 4 days and Koenig pitched yesterday?
  20. Again the rule is basically irrelevant. If you're in the org before 8/31 you will be playoff eligible. That's all that matters.
  21. Freddy didn't have his best stuff, but feel like through 5.2 IP that was the best he's pitched this season. Just felt like he had good feel for all 3 of his secondaries and for the most part located them really well.
