  1. An ascending Adames in the box the rest of this year and this team runs away with the central.
  2. Bitonti with a triple and a HR in his first 2 AB’s. Pratt a hit. Boeve a hit.only the second inning so plenty of AB’s left to go.
  3. Bitonti with 2 hits including a HR. Pratt another hit, same with Boeve. Still early with lots of AB’s to go. This is fast becoming a special farm system.
  4. This organization’s positional talent at the DSL, Arizona & Carolina is quite extraordinary. I’ve been following the team’s minor-league play for half a century and I’ve never seen the numbers of hitting talent like they have right now. Adding a couple of power bats from this last draft (Wilken & Bitonti) with a couple more future potentials in Boeve & Pratt helps put a dent in one of the biggest organizational weaknesses— lack of power bats. Another draft with a couple of power bats added (dream scenario: SS & OF),a Burnes trade? (Stud positional added) and this farms positionals could stack-up with the best systems in baseball.
  5. If he touched 94, that’s a huge improvement over the last time he pitched for Nashville. If I remember correctly he could barely touch 90. Gives me hope for the future with Lauer again. Best news of the day for me. Oh, and Woody getting over 70 pitches tonight is a close second.
  6. Reyes is quite the intriguing LH arm. 19 years old with a projectable body. Liking the international arms added the last couple of years, and especially at the bonus numbers given out.
  7. Jarvis-Lara-Adames for: Jiminez & Anderson + $. The Brewers have been rumored to be interested in adding an IF, so Tim Anderson makes a lot of sense in addition to Jiminez. BTV has the both of them combined at near 0 SV, so the money helps get the Chisox the trio of talent, which according to BTV is near $10M. So Jiminez & Anderson & $10M seems like a pretty fair deal to me, and one I’d do. Love Adames, love Lara, but both are 3+ years away. The team added 3B depth with Wilken-Bitonti that replaces the 3B depth lost in Severino and Adames. Team has OF depth up the ying-yang, so losing Lara is tolerable. Jarvis is a backend starter at best, so that’s replaceable as well. Team can play Anderson at 2B, and also spell Adames. Anderson is only 30 and a better ball-player than he’s currently showing. Getting him and Jiminez away from that dysfunctional team and organization should do wonders for the both of them.
  8. Or any team for that matter, being the best team in baseball. The Brewers are the biggest wild card team in baseball, and it’s not just because of getting Woodruff-Miley and Ashby back soon. Its the potential positive regression of Adames, development of Turang-Wiemer at the plate, Urias finding his stroke, Hiura’s possible addition and potentially more offense acquired in the next 2 1/2 days. This team could be a force entering September (Craigtember).
  9. Long-term deals for both Chourio & Quero. The young ages they will hit the bigs warrant an all-out effort at extending them into their early 30’s, to potentially get 8+ prime years from both. The ability of this team to discern/scout upside pitching past the first round is extraordinary and when combined with the PDS that gives me extreme confidence in the pitching train moving along quite nicely far into the future. Having elite prospect procurement systems will help keep the team from having to sell-off most of their good veterans, thus avoiding down periods and keep this a contending team year after year. MA — extend Arnold-Johnson-Klentak and Greene please.
  10. You’re right with the SSS Devanney bat last year at Nashville, but still had a 114 wRC+ with Biloxi, so a better year last season than Jones. And I agree the team will probably upgrade the IF and possibly with multiple players, it’s just this team’s biggest weakness is the lack of power in the lineup and Devanney has pop in his bat and can more than hold his own in the field.
  11. Last year Devanney had a 136 wRC+ vs Jones’s 90. And this season Devanney was injured and now seems to be getting his stroke going. But yeah, the team agrees with you, at least up to last nights game, but after watching Jones’s last handful plus of AB’s not sure the team still has confidence in Mr Jones much longer.
  12. But done in the PCL vs IL. Im going with the glove and International league bat.
  13. The Brewers need power and Devanney has pop and a good glove. Why he’s still in AAA and Jones isn’t DFA’d is beyond me.
  14. And to nit-pick further — Charlie Greene, not Moore, leading the worlds best catching development system. Anyone following the Brewers system since Stearns took over should have been able to see the incredible job done by him and his first hire, Matt Arnold, in rebuilding this teams infrastructure. First the analytics department, then the PDS, then hiring Tod Johnson to fix the amateur draft. Mike Groopman to improve the international department, then Matt Klentak, who’s taken it to a new level. Scouring the independent leagues for bullpen arms. And finally, re-vamping the hitting development system in ‘19 & ‘20. They now have one of the best organizational infrastructure teams in baseball, and without the trillions spent like the Dodgers. Anyone concerned with the teams prospect procurement systems prior to this last draft-class, should have zero worries moving forward, even if the Stearns “brain drain” takes some of our best. It’s like Tampa & Cleveland now, systems deep with talent, knowledge and experience, able to get the next man-up to keep the train moving. This is the best time in franchise history to be a Brewers fan. These organizational departments assure success moving forward. Book it.
  15. No, because we shouldn’t be trading two (2) future mid-rotation arms for bullpen help — ever. This team needs help offensively, not in the bullpen.
  16. It’s already worked-out. They have 2 of the top international prospects in baseball. 10-13 (depending on the site) of their top 30 prospects are international signings. Your narrative is 4-5 years too late. My suggestion isn’t to wallow in the past Gilbert Lara era any longer, and join the fun.
  17. Wiemer is a great extension candidate with his smaller signing bonus. Keep him up and win baseball games.
  18. Bravo to Johnson & co. Imo, the farm system prior to this draft lacked power bats, and power arms — boom done. Wilken & Bitonti both have big power. Pratt at present is hit over power, but at 6’ 4” should add power eventually and the best part, be able to stay at SS. Boeve could follow the same path as Black and also add power. That’s 4 potential power bats from 1 class. Knoth is a power arm starter. Birchard the proverbial Brewers JC power arm. More pitching signed as well. I can’t remember being this excited over a Brewers draft — ever — and that’s going back 53 years with me.
  19. Boeve was mentioned and he hasn’t signed yet. I’m going to assume the team is signing their first 11 picks. I’ve read a number of evaluators that think Pratt can remain a SS because of his extraordinary body control. It’ll be interesting to see if he can stay at short.
  20. No idea why Bitonti isn’t talked about as the team’s 3B of the future? He profiles as a good fielding 3B with power and a cannon arm. I think realistically, it’s between Adams and him at 3B, long-term.
  21. Command left CRod in the 5th. 2 BB’s and hit batter loaded the bases, but he got out of it with a force-out at home and a K of Edgar Quero.
  22. So far so good with real baseball’s for CRod thru 4 innings. Just 2H, 1BB & 7K — 70% strike-throwing.
  23. I like MKE’s farm positionals, with the 4 recent draft-picks added. The farm likely loses Frelick over the next year or less, but that’s probably about it, and during that time they have enough high-end prospect depth for there to be numerous breakouts, with 3-4 joining the top 100. I’m sticking with Quero over Salas, but certainly understand you going with Salas. He’s off to a great start and certainly has the pedigree and the hype.
  24. Quero is trending to become the #1 catching prospect in baseball. Chourio is trending to become the best OF prospect in baseball. Misiorowski is trending to become the second-best pitching prospect in baseball (Skeens is on another planet). Imo, with the 4 recent positionals added from the ‘23 draft, this farm has the strongest crop of positional prospect talent in the game. It’s top heavy with elite talent (Quero-Chourio-Frelick-Black) but the real depth of positionals lies in Carolina-Arizona and the Dominican Republic.
