  1. I worked with a guy named Richard Dick. My dad grew up with a kid named Dan DeLine.
  2. I just checked the extra innings website and it said Sunday games are only blacked out during ESPN's exclusive period on sunday if they begin after 4:00 central.
  3. Yeah, great to see a good outing today. It always seems closers rely on momentum more than any other player, and I was worried about what would happen if he continued to stink it up like his first appearance.
  4. Sweet, I'll finally get a chance to watch a game, subsisting on Twins coverage and night games on extra innings has been a curse. Of course, I'm even more bummed out today watching the gameday feed and seeing that Parra is just smokin' 'em while I can only get a computerized representation of what's going on.
  5. A ton of luck can figure into 4 games, so there's really no need to change predictions unless a critical injury occurs that will affect the future. The 2002 Brewers could win 4 straight against the 2008 Brewers at one point over 162 head-to-head games, but you'd still figure the current club to win 100. We could be 2-2 at this point if not for some unlikely heroics provided by Gwynn. A single great defensive play or a single swing where the bat contacts the ball just an inch in another direction can be the difference between a .750 winning percentage and .500 at this point.
  6. We Extra Innings people don't get the game at all because of some stupid game on Fox. That's why. I haven't been able to watch one stinkin game this year, because they've always played while I was at work. Than I saw today's game and built my plans around it. Somebody wanna suggest something for me to do this afternoon? I'm really, really not a happy camper. Add to this nonsense the fact that the Fox game doesn't even begin broadcast until 2:30 when the Brewers are already done. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that tomorrow's game won't be broadcast for similar reasons.
  7. Edit: never mind it all, just watch THIS and tell me why some idiot picked Astley instead.
  8. He posts here as rickey24.
  9. I'm with ya Geno, it'd be nice if the top 5 spenders in the league all had great 1B's signed through 2013. If the Yankees sign Teixeira and Boston gets Howard, maybe the chance of Prince staying skyrockets to 2%.
  10. Every time I'm required to give an email address like this, I take the time to enter guttenberg@policeacademy4.gov rather than just pounding keys.
  11. I admit to knowing less than many about the Bucks, but one thing that seems very impressive with Bogut is that you can legitimately "build around" him and not have to build beneath him for the future. He seems to be the type who'd be totally cool being one of several very good players on a team, unlike the typical NBA tactic of having to be the franchise's only star and taking all of the shots. Detroit has some nice players, but they don't have a true "superstar", yet they manage to win because they have many good players who contribute.
  12. DLR will suck in COL, as he relies on filthy movement more than anything else. When that's gone, so are his chances, IMO.
  13. The only downside is that sometimes you think an actress is hot, then you see her in HD and all the blemishes, fine lines, and imperfections are made salient, then she doesn't look as hot anymore.
  14. "Their (sic) very attuned to American portrayals of Japanese and spend a lot of attention on Japanese players playing in the United States," says the friend, I think that they should know as well as we do that the translations are very rough and often meaningless. Engish.com illustrates the difficulty in translation pretty well. There's a bar near my girlfriend's hometown called "Angel Raper". I think the real point is: if you don't speak the language, don't use it publicly, because most of the time you'll look like a moron.
  15. I don't remember anyone here thinking Bush would be a Cy Young contender. Most people though Jackson was the real gem in that trade: the one with a top of the rotation ceiling. In Bush, it seemed people thought he was a serviceable pitcher who could potentially blossom into a very good #3, not a replacement for Sheets. I've never really been a fan of Bush, outside of the fact that he's durable and isn't a bad option at all for your #5 spot. I've seen the same flashes that everyone else has, but I don't trust him to "put it all together".
  16. If someone no-hits the Giants this year, does it really count? I'd think a Molina-anchored offense merits an asterisk at the least.
  17. Happy Fashion! Ichiro is number one growth of lucky!
  18. Although, Estrada's laissez-faire style killed me! But that's because he sucks.
  19. Edit: link was messed up somehow, Boknowsball fixed it below.
  20. While I don't his "style" more than anyone else, I definitely dig 4 straight seasons with a .900 or greater OPS at 3B. He could slack his way to a .920 OPS for the Brewers and you wouldn't hear me complain.
  21. This thread is starting to sound like "I know something you don't know but I can't say it cause it's naughty." Yeah, you don't even wanna know about the stories I heard regarding Julio Mosquera's favorite menu item at Culver's. All I can say is that the calorie count is easily 2,800.
  22. When I was young we saw Jamie Navarro at Saz's. He had a sweet Benz with a Puerto Rican flag etched into the back window.
  23. "Bill" is actually what Tyrone goes by now, we somehow have held his rights all these years through some odd loophole in the CBA's.
  24. Simply because I will post this EVERY time I come across a Rick Astley discussion. http://cellar.org/attachment.php?s=27345d6cc4bc2bfb9c8a897241fcf67f&attachmentid=17317&stc=1&d=1206294675
  25. To replicate his best season, Gagne must now allow just 8 runs in 81.3 IP.
