  1. Don't we have kind of a better version of DeRosa in Bill Hall? I know this has already been suggested, but I don't see why they can't let Hall play 2B with Counsell filling in when needed, and then have Gamel start at 3B and let him succeed or fail there.
  2. The Cardinals are pretty giddy right now at the news about Weeks. I hope the Brewers make them pay, and show they won't be set back by one player going down.
  3. Throw him in the deep end and hope he can swim, and hope Hall remembers how to play 2B pretty well.
  4. Why can't Hall be moved to 2B and play a sort of platoon with Counsell? Gamel should be tried as the regular 3B. Replacing Weeks' offensive production is paramount right now. I just can't see Melvin making some blockbuster trade for Roberts or someone at this point.
  5. Really too bad. This should be an injury a good team can overcome, though. While Weeks was playing tremendously well, they should have a potent enough offense and competent enough defense to overcome losing him.
  6. "I hope baseball bans this". Wow.
  7. I can't believe it would be anything else but that.
  8. I just think that it's silly that the Brewers OWN FANS can somehow find fault with Ryan Braun. For about ten years this team was dying to have an impact superstar player of his caliber on this team...now that they have one, people complain because he occasionally watches his home runs for a split second or two before leaving the batter's box, or says something truthful but very slightly vaguely controversial in the media (even though it's seemingly worked to help motivate his team on more than one occasion). I think I've even seen a couple people complain that he "just looks cocky." Should just have a cold dead serious stare on his face 24/7? I just don't get it.
  9. I think you just answered your own question. I think the excuse that "you got past the usher who should be checking yout ticket" is kind of flimsy reasoning. Totally different if they tell you that you can move down, IMHO. It's like saying it's OK to go to a movie theater, watch a movie, and then sneak into a second movie "because you're getting the best value for your money." It just doesn't seem that ethical to me. Also, one point to consider...not everyone likes confrontation. If some people show up to the game late and see you and your friends sitting in their tickets, they might just shrink off and sit in worse seats because they didn't want to bother with it. That's not really fair.
  10. I think Manny is a nice pitcher to have around, but looking more like a middle-bottom rotation type guy, and not a #2 type like some were hoping. I hope they're not looking at him to pitch behind Gallardo long term, I guess is what I'm saying.
  11. Eh, I don't think it's a big revelation that people in sports probably use dirty words off-air.
  12. Actually, wouldn't they be more likely to put the "Milwaukee" on the gray jerseys only, since the dark blue ones are used at both home and road games?
  13. Whoa, I think talk of a DL stint is pretty early right now. Nothing like that has been announced yet.
  14. Don't the Brewers have someone else in their system who is considered a top 2B prospect?
  15. Boy, it's hard to get used to how things have changed from just a few years back. I remember someone on here posted some MLB comic strips from somewhere like Japan or Korea, where the Cardinals were like the literal "bullies on the block" and the Brewers players would hide in the corner when they walked by. Now it seems as though the situation has reversed. I guess I don't want to get too amped about this since the fates in baseball can reverse so easily. Right now it is nice to just see the Brewers winning against division rivals on a regular basis.
  16. Doorman is the guy who always sits near the visitor's dugout wearing a Pilots jersey, right? He posts as rickey24 (if I'm not mistaken) on this site as well. He has the Doorman nickname because he often "shows the door" to opposing batters who have struck out as they walk back to their dugout.
  17. FWIW, game is supposed to be on tonight, and I believe in HD as well. So I would call your provider if they are maybe not aware it's going to be on.
  18. Anyone else get the feeling we'll somehow see McGehee in there tonight and not Gamel?
  19. Hopefully this is just a tweak or strain, and nothing more serious like a torn ligament. At least he's getting it checked out right away. As far as Durham, this team doesn't really need him at this point. I think he's another one of those veterans sitting out there that probably doesn't want to accept that the market has really dropped down on aging veteran players.
  20. I don't really ever do it. These days my wife and I have a 9 pack, which make up the majority of the games we go to. We have pretty good seats in section 215, so no real reason to move up. The only exception would be moving up a few rows in the same section I'm, if say by the third or fourth inning no one has showed up to sit there. With how crowded Miller Park usually is these days, I don't think there's any real justification for buying a terrace reserved ticket and then moving down to the loge or 100 level. I guess if the usher says it's ok, that's one thing though. I just can't stand when you're watching the game, and the real ticket owners show up to get the seats in front of you, and then the squatter occupants take five minutes to leave. Just bugs me.
  21. If Melvin is going to give up Escobar, I would hope he has a strong feeling Hardy can be retained beyond next year...otherwise we're going to have a gaping hole at shortstop.
  22. I think it's a nice stat for tracking how the progress of a season is going, but not necessarily judging a pitcher's real value...maybe others have a different opinion.
