  1. I look to trade all three separately or even together for a bigger package. Whatever works. All three should be seen as expendable at this point.
  2. As noted, Yuni has put up a .430 OPS over the past month. I doubt Halton can be any worse.
  3. It's not like Aoki _has_ to bat leadoff either. He could easily slot into a number 6 or 7 spot in a playoff caliber team's lineup, or maybe even bat #2. Regarding the starting rotation, while I don't think the pitching is as bad as what we've seen this year, I don't think going with basically the same rotation next season and hoping for better results is much of a plan either. An improvement of a couple wins per pitcher still doesn't make this even a Wild Card contender in the NL right now.
  4. I actually wouldn't mind having a pair of those.
  5. Aoki has been a godsend to the Brewers and I'm a huge fan of what he's done on this team, but he'll be 32 before Opening Day next season. How many more years do you bet he can continue produce as he's doing this season?
  6. Moderator note: I think this thread is OK in the MLB forum as long as we stay on the general topic of whether or not Melvin and Attanasio will be willing to "sell" at the trade deadline. If it gets into specific trade ideas or rumors, those things would be more appropriate in the Trade Rumors/Proposals forum which already has a couple threads talking about those aspects. Thanks.
  7. I don't get having Lucroy bat cleanup, but I guess Roenicke has limited options with Braun out and apparently Ramirez needing a rest day.
  8. Halton seems like one of those guys that screams "AAAA" to me.
  9. Yeah, sounds good to me. Earlier in the season usually works better for me with these types of events anyway. Summer gets so busy with family, etc.
  10. Ha, ya. First time ever Boras had his client sign for under value. Actually, Carlos Gonzalez signed his huge deal with the Rockies before hitting free agency, though I believe that was sort of behind Boras' back.
  11. I thought we only had him for two more seasons, but you are correct...he is under contract through 2016. That makes it less urgent to trade him than I had been thinking. I hope that doesn't preclude Melvin from listening if some other team is offering a big haul, though.
  12. That's disappointing. I've told this story before, but I think my all time favorite thread was the "Ben Hendrickson released" thread, but probably not for good reasons I'll admit.
  13. The BBB is pretty much a joke. I wouldn't expect any recourse through them. Contacting a local TV station might be worthwhile. Personally, I'd probably just make myself a total pest and constantly show up at the store whenever I could, and loudly ask around other customers, "Hey! Did you guys find my picture yet? It's already been XX months!" Make it really uncomfortable for the owner and the employees.
  14. My sister lives out in the boonies and the closest "grocery store" (really just a little corner convenience store) to her routinely has stuff on the shelves that is way past expiration. I don't know how the state hasn't shut them down.
  15. I really hope the team considers trading him. I'm not saying he can't keep up what he's doing (or at least come close to it), but I really don't see any way he signs another extension at this point. He'll break the bank in free agency in a couple years if he keeps this up.
  16. I'm guessing he sold them already. Probably time to call the police. I'm not sure of any other alternatives at this point.
  17. He started out hot, but regressed fairly quickly. I wouldn't be surprised to see him cut loose once Hart comes back. Right now it doesn't matter too much.
  18. It's rather questionable if Gamel will even be in the organization after this year, so I think that's a long shot.
  19. Not that I'm advocating escalation necessarily, but I'm sure his teammates appreciate him "protecting" them.
  20. I know Doug Melvin has commented on this topic before, and he thinks teams shouldn't be able to trade at least their first round picks because he felt the big market teams would be able to take advantage of it too much. I do really agree with a couple posters above who said a player shouldn't be able to essentially "pull out" after being drafted and regain eligibility a year later. I don't know why MLB hasn't fixed that yet. I think at least, a drafted player should remain under a team's "control" for a minimum of five years. Remember the circus that happened with Stephen Strasburg where he didn't sign until literally the final hour of the signing deadline? That kind of stuff shouldn't happen, as it just puts the small market teams at an even bigger disadvantage and gives agents like Boras way too much leverage.
  21. You're probably right Patrick. I didn't mean to take it in a political direction, just trying to offer some general insight. Let's end that part of the discussion there unless people want to take it to the BF.net Political Scene: http://brewerfanpoliticalscene.yuku.com/
  22. Yep. Corporations in this country have made out huge over the past ten years, while the middle class continues to shrink. Enough people seem to be content with this scenario that it doesn't matter for now, I guess. re: Point Beer's wife's situation, I really doubt there would be any grounds for any sort of lawsuit, as that sort of scenario seems to be all to common in our country. I'm no lawyer though.
  23. Yeah I agree. I was expecting a bit more. It's going to be a long wait until the next season I guess.
  24. I guess one never knows what they'll read on BF.net. Thanks for sharing, Nottso.
  25. You couldn't get rid of seats at the home opener? C'mon. I had 20 people asking me for tickets. You didn't really try very hard. No kidding. I had to shell out about 50 bucks a pop for ours in the terrace reserved.
