  1. Maybe my memory is going, but I thought the discounts were better last year. The t-shirt jerseys were $5-$10 this year, I thought they were like $2 last year.
  2. This is interesting. McTaggart says Barmes talked to the Brewers about a possible two-year deal, but they weren't willing to make an offer until Prince Fielder's situation was resolved. Assuming this is true then Doug has been sending a whole bunch of smoke and mirrors up about moving on without Prince. Either that or they really weren't that interested in Barmes, which given our organization's commitment to all offense and no defense could be possible. I guess Reyes and Furcal are still out there, but a return or Yuni B seems all but inevitable doesn't it?
  3. Only thing I'm curious about, will the Yuni B t-shirt jerseys be on super discount? I hope so.
  4. So your saying if they all would have just been on the top rail cheering, then they would have won. Well why didn't you tell them that. Jeeze. Way to blow it. We need a thread with all the other reasons they lost. 1) Prince thinking about free agency. 2) Beast mode unprofessoinal and silly. Profession serious teams only win in postseason. (pay no attention to the giants last year.) 3) Thundersticks not passed out for game 6. 4) Bernie's slide not intimidating unless he's sliding into giant beer mug What else do we have?
  5. kotsay in CF in game 3?Marcum starting game 6. That would have made a difference.
  6. I think I already did. Start Naverson without having him pitch in relief in game 5.
  7. I'm sorry but TLR didn't have much better starting pitching than we did this series and somehow he found a way to win, so please don't tell me that RR didn't have any options. RR had plenty of options, he just didn't have the brains to figure out the correct options to use.
  8. one other thing, did I hear it right in RR's press conference he said, "I don't think it should be the goal of a team in spring training to reach the world series". WOW. I mean, yeah I guess if you are Pittsburg or KC or Baltimore obviously that shouldn't be your goal, b/c that's not realistic, and I'm not going to say WS or bust, this season sucked, but can't you say, we had a successful season but we fell short of our goal to make the WS? Is that not the proper way to answer that question?
  9. I knew someone was going to say that, but he also had Naverson pitch in relief in game 5. Naverson is a starter and is not used to pitching like that, multiple times in the span of 3 days. I and all my friends were completely baffled why you would use both Estrada and Naverson in game 5 when it was pretty much out of reach, when you know that there was a better than average chance Marcum was not going to go deep into game 6 and you would need a long man to cover 1-3 innings.
  10. I understand the cubs hatred though. Misery loves company. I have to imagine watching Boston break it's curse was one of the worst things imaginable. Now if we win and they know they are at least 4-5 years away from competing that's got to be tough to handle.
  11. Well, I'm 35 year old, a CPA and my father was a city of Milwaukee police office for 30+ years and tonight was the first night I've ever been threatened to be thrown in jail. So I don't know what the Brewer's want to do with me. I spent the better part of an hour watching traffic try to get out of the Molitor lot. I thought we were doing every one else a favor by not trying to get out of the lot right away, but I guess Michael and his cop buddy on his bike didn't see it that way. They told us to "get out [expletive deleted] cleaned up and get out of the lot" or they would throw us in jail. Nice. I called the brewers after game 2, but they are closed after 5PM. I'm calling tomorrow and if they aren't open tomorrow I'm calling on Monday at lunch. I see no reason to treat customers like they are treating them. Everything inside the stadium is A+, in the parking lot F-. (edit: language --1992)
  12. They showed the "odds" on MLb and it was Yankess, Phillies, Boston as the top three. After that it was teams still in the playoffs Tigers Rangers, Cards and I believe the Brewers were last at 20 to 1 in the preseason.
  13. Vegas numbers never give me a great deal of confidence b/c I've never seen any studies showing their lines are statistically accurate. They are good at making money, and they do that by setting lines that will get equal action on both sides. So when the set a line a Wisconsin -7 against Nebraska they don't really care or think that Wisconsin is going to win by 7 they just think that's a line that's going to get them equal action on both sides. They don't really care the Wisconsin won by 31. So putting the brewers at 58%, doesn't do much for me. I mean what is 58% in a one game sample. That's pretty much flipping a coin to me. If your doctor said, hey you have a 58% chance to live, you should be happy that's better odds than just flipping a coin, I don't think that would be much comfort. I'm glad the game is tomorrow at 4pm, don't think I could make it to 7pm without a breakdown.
  14. I'll call and find out on Monday. I don't see the Dodger stadium tragedy being an issue since I didn't see any D-backs fans the entire weekend(I'm not sure the exist).
  15. Let me preface this by saying A+ for everything the Brewers did this weekend. From what I could tell it was first class all the way. That being said I don't know who's in charge of the parking lot, but I think they need some common sense and etiquette lessons. We were out in the Molitor lot after the game letting the traffic clear, enjoying some victory pie, a few sausage products and some drinks. Exactly 1 hour after the game was over a brewer employee on a bike comes up to us and tell us we have to get going. Mind you there is still a line of traffic on the hill waiting to get out. We pointed this out to the employee and he says, yeah but by the time you pack up the traffic will be gone. So we started to pack up. As we are packing up the parking lot is filled bike cops, a squad car, some sort of police SUV brewer employees on bikes and a golf cart all driving around like maniacs telling people they had to leave. I've been to many tailgates at MP, I've never gotten the bums rush like this before. Not enough to put a damper on the greatest sports weekend in WI history, but it was needlessly unpleasant. I will be calling the Brewer's office tomorrow.
  16. +1 on all of that. I was pretty disappointed. I don't remember hearing about how they snuck him out of the stadium, so I felt that was somewhat interesting. But all the rest was pretty meh. Tieing it in with Buckner was kind of weak IMO. They hired a Red Sox fan to do the documentary so of course there has to be a Red Sox tie in. They couldn't find a Cubs fan to do it?
  17. I wouldn't mind the brewer's winning quick and then watching the cards lose in extra innings to the cubs at the bar. Cards lose in extra innings as a pitcher has to bat for the final out due to TLR making too many moves earlier in the game.
  18. I think we need to cut some Brewer fans and some of the casual Brewer fans some slack due to the fact that we haven't won a division since 82 so people don't know how to react and also the 2008 year probably left some scars that haven't quite healed yet. Not only would the Cards have to get as hot as the sun to take the division from us, the Braves would also have to outplay us down the stretch as well for us to miss the playoffs. It's just not going to happen. We're at 99.3% today and that was before the win tonight and the braves loss. We're going to the playoffs.
  19. For a moment after the Cards swept us at home I was thinking that if the Brewers somehow blew it and didn't make the playoffs I would be done with them, because I have no desire to be a cubs fan for the rest of my life, knowing that I'm going to die without ever seeing them win the WS.
  20. I was anxious last night and then I went to baseball prospectus. We're still at 99% to make the playoff. Call me when it gets under 90% and then I start to get nervous. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/odds/
  21. Uek's talking like this is a must win. Brewers really need to put this thing away next week. I don't think Uek can take it.
  22. I don't think the owners would give another 15 DHs to the players without getting something in return, since DHs are usually higher priced players. So what are the owners going to get back in return from the players for allowing another 15 DH spots? Just because the NL GM's will want the DH, doesn't mean the NL owners will want the DH. And also the AL owners might not be so eager to approve that rule b/c they may realize they do have that built in advantage. And it's the owner that make the rule changes Also, why can't you schedule a team to play a week of interleague games all through the season? That may the teams can make a minor league call up just like they do now?
  23. The way utley has been hitting that might be a plus for Philly. Our lefties hopefully match up well against that lineup. Hope the MP magic returns.
